Quick Facts About Cafe Prazeres (Sutton)
Cafe Prazeres in Sutton has received both positive and negative comments, providing insights into its strengths and weaknesses.
Starting with the strengths, several customers have praised the food and drinks at Cafe Prazeres. One person mentioned that the coffee was amazing and comparable to what can be found on the continent. Another customer stated that it was the best cup of coffee in Sutton and couldn't believe they hadn't tried it sooner. The affordability of the coffee was also highlighted, with one reviewer noting that it was only £1 for an espresso. Additionally, the mention of delicious cakes, specifically Portuguese custard tarts, adds to the positive perception of the food offerings.
The welcoming atmosphere and friendly service are other strengths mentioned by customers. Many reviewers expressed their satisfaction with the hospitality they received from the cafe's owner or manager. One person noted that the owner was always quick to serve all customers and made them feel welcome. Another customer mentioned that the waiter in the restaurant was a nice and cheerful person.
The location of Cafe Prazeres is also appreciated by some customers. It was described as a great little street coffee/cafe, popular with locals. The cafe's proximity to a petrol station was mentioned, along with the suggestion to park in a side road if driving. Some customers appreciated the handful of tables outside where they could sit and watch the world go by.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One significant issue is the inconsistency and confusion regarding the opening times. Multiple commenters noted that the opening times listed on Google were incorrect, and there was no signage on the door indicating the correct opening hours. One customer mentioned waiting outside in the cold until 10:05 am, even though they were told that the cafe opened at 10 am. This lack of clarity and adherence to opening times can be seen as a significant weakness in terms of customer satisfaction.
Another weakness highlighted in a comment is the rude and grumpy behavior of one of the staff members. One customer mentioned encountering a person inside who rudely and loudly told them that the cafe was closed, contradicting the opening times. This negative interaction left a negative impression on the customer and made them question how the cafe had good reviews with such an attitude.
In conclusion, Cafe Prazeres in Sutton has received praise for its food and drink offerings, friendly atmosphere, and welcoming service. The affordability of the coffee was also appreciated by customers. However, weaknesses such as inconsistent opening times and instances of rude behavior by staff members have been raised. These weaknesses may impact customers' overall experience and perception of the cafe.
Best TL Reviews
Stopped for an afternoon coffee and hopefully some nice Portuguese snacks as I was passing that side. Sign on the door stated "Sorry we are closed".Peeked in and there was someone inside. Asked the lads drinking beer outside if it was closed and they said it's open. When I opened the door, the grumpy guy inside said rudely and loudly "It's closed!" and this was at 5pm when Google timings show its open until 8pm.
With an attitude like that, I'm surprised how they have good reviews?
Opening times on Google is wrong, nowhere displayed on the door and a waiting customer like us told it opens at 10. Waited till 10:05 in cold outside but the man sitting inside watching TV paid no heed. Didn't feel like being in England, let alone a Portuguese hospitality place. Didn't get served, wouldn't return.
Amazing food and such a friendly atmosphere. Would definitely come back here.
