Quick Facts About Cafe Thyme

Cafe Thyme has several strengths that have been mentioned in the comments. One of the most common strengths is the quality of the food. Multiple comments highlight the deliciousness of the sandwiches, cakes, scones, and lemon drizzle cake. This indicates that the cafe is able to consistently produce tasty and enjoyable meals for their customers. Additionally, the presentation of the food is commended, suggesting that the cafe takes care in ensuring that each dish looks as good as it tastes.
Another strength of Cafe Thyme is the helpful and friendly staff. Many comments mention the owner, Hanna, and her team, praising them for their friendliness, welcoming atmosphere, and attentiveness to customer satisfaction. Customers appreciate the personal touch and feel well looked after when visiting the cafe. This establishes a positive and enjoyable experience for customers, increasing the likelihood of their return and positive word-of-mouth recommendations.
The cleanliness of the cafe is also regarded as a strength. Several comments mention how spotlessly clean the cafe is, particularly in light of the current pandemic and the need for heightened hygiene measures. This attention to cleanliness makes customers feel safe and reassured when dining at the cafe, enhancing their overall experience and satisfaction.
The outdoor seating area is another aspect that is valued by customers. A comment mentions the lovely spot to sit and chill outside, highlighting the pleasant atmosphere created by the outdoor seating. This provides customers with the opportunity to enjoy their food in a peaceful and enjoyable environment, adding to their overall dining experience.
However, there are also some weaknesses that have been mentioned in the comments. One major weakness is the cafe's "cash only" policy. In a time where card payments are widely accepted and expected, customers find it inconvenient and frustrating to not be able to pay with a card. This could potentially deter potential customers who do not carry cash on them or prefer the convenience of card payments. The comment suggests that this policy may be due to tax avoidance, which is seen as an unethical business practice.
Another weakness that is highlighted is the negative experience some customers have had with a specific staff member. The comment describes feeling belittled and mistreated by the lady who makes the food. This indicates that there may be an issue with the attitude and behavior of this staff member, leading to a negative perception of the cafe. Poor customer service can greatly impact a business's reputation and customer loyalty, so it is essential for the cafe to address this issue.
Another minor weakness that is mentioned is the price of the food. One comment expresses dissatisfaction with the cost of a sandwich, particularly when it does not come with a salad on the side. This suggests that some customers may find the prices at Cafe Thyme to be relatively high compared to their perception of the value received. Price sensitivity can affect customer satisfaction and repeat business, so it may be worth considering adjusting the pricing strategy to align with customer expectations.
In conclusion, Cafe Thyme has several strengths, including the quality of their food, helpful staff, cleanliness, and the pleasant outdoor seating area. However, there are also weaknesses that need attention, such as the "cash only" policy, negative customer experiences with a staff member, and potentially higher prices. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial in order to maintain and improve the cafe's reputation and customer satisfaction.

Nice food and helpful staff.. Lovely little spot to sit and chill outside. Unfortunately a big let down is it's "cash only". In these times, card payments should be a standard thing. Why would somewhere me cash only? Tax maybe...
Lovely staff and I was happy with my choices. My friends had the giant scones which were still warm from the oven. Delicious
We love to visit Hanna and her team whenever we are in town for delicious sandwiches and cakes. It's been mum's favourite cafe since they opened.
We recently engaged them for outside catering - a range of sandwiches, quiches, cakes and scones - all of which were fresh, tasty and beautifully presented, and very reasonably priced. Hanna thought of everything from dietary needs to how to set up and serve in a venue neither of us knew well, and made sure the place was left spotless. She took all the stress out of a difficult day.
Of particular mention has to be her lemon drizzle cake - always my mum's favourite and now mine too. Thanks Hanna and the team at Cafe Thyme ????
My compliments to the owner and the staff of this lovely and friendly cafe.
I'm becoming a regular Sunday customer :-) Very happy to recommend this place to anyone. Good food, friendly atmosphere and with present restrictions in place, spotlessly clean, I felt really safe and looked after. Keep up your amazing work Hanna , you have my full support xx.
Great service and lovely atmosphere Hannah is so friendly and welcoming behind the counter even though she is making a million order at once. The rest of the staff are so friendly and always ensure you are satisfied. The food is always amazing and tastes delicious, as well as the drinks. The food is so well presented and they will always adapt an option on the menu if you asked. Overall a lovely business and such a lovely and kind owner would recommend 100% to all.
Would rather starve!
Have been here a few times but wont go again, although the food is nice the owner or the lady who makes the food is horrible, the last 3 times i have been, she has looked me up & down, talks to me in a way that i feel so small whilst i am waiting. They charge £4.50 for a simple sandwich with no salad on the side. I would happily pay if i got the service as well! There is no smiles just sly attitude, the other staff are pleasant but the lady who makes the food is horrible, i would rather starve than be made to feel i have by the lady. I will be taking my money elsewhere & support / recommend a business that provides good food & service & doesn't make me feel like i do in Cafe Thyme
Lovely little coffee shop to stop for a light lunch or refreshment while shopping in Bishop's Stortford. Friendly staff. Quiet corner. Tables in the terrace.
Good, punctual table service on the terrace. The server was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and tea selection.
The cafe was clean and well maintained. The outdoor seating area is generally quiet, but expect a steady flow of shoppers between Jackson Square and the high street.
