A great local place for a 15 minute walk or an hour. You can go further out of the woodland following various nature trails.
Lovely cafe (closed in winter) serving snacks and beverages & a small, clean play area for the kids.
Lovely and peaceful place to go especially with dogs, other pet owners there were friendly and responsible. Plenty wildlife to find, only regret , not taking my big camera. WORTH GOING!
very clean, plenty of wild life & birds chirping.. could do with more direction posts and the bird Watching shed was locked…
looking past the pylons and chimneys in the distance it’s a lovely little place for a walk, worth a look if your in the area
Fantastic area to explore with plenty of woodland walks. Large car park but no amenities here, some of the walks are boggy in the winter months, but there is a tarmac path that runs along side of the woods and heads towards Greatham.
Nice place for a couple of hours walk with the dogs, keep on lead. Parking available.
Lovely little walk round in any weather. It is very popular with dog walkers but they need to be on leads because of the wildlife here.
Small ponds (which have lots of tadpoles in the spring) and a visitors center but I have never seen it actually open.
There is a small play area that needs a bit of TLC but is good for younger kids.
The walk itself doesn't take long and the views from up hill are beautiful, you can see for miles.
On a wet day I do recommend good walking boots or wellies as the paths are not maintained all year round and can become water logged or even swampish making the hills difficult to manage.
Lovely place, even though the car park was full we didn't seem to bump into many people, great for the dog, clean & tidy, we will definately visit again, plenty of benches around for you to take a seat and watch the birds on the lake, all in all a good walk out
Been a while since last visit still very nice place to visit good place to take your dog certain areas are available for off the lead exercise pleasant walking and soon really good views of the area. Nice lake with a couple of hides binoculars are an advantage for viewing the wildlife
