The Dancing Octopus place in Newcastle under Lyme has been touted as the best fish and chips place in the area. However, one commenter disagrees, stating that it is not the best they have tried in the United Kingdom. This indicates that while the fish and chips may be good, they may not be exceptional compared to other places.
One commenter mentions that they were too hungry to take pictures of their actual order, which suggests that the portion sizes are good and satisfying. They also mention that the Dancing Octopus place does not appear on any food ordering platforms, which could be a disadvantage for customers who prefer to order their food online.
On the positive side, the staff are described as friendly and nice. They even offered sweets to the kids while the customers waited in the sweltering summer heat. This shows that the staff are attentive and go the extra mile to make the dining experience enjoyable. Another commenter mentions that the staff are constantly cleaning their work areas, which indicates good hygiene practices.
One commenter had a poor experience in the past where the chips tasted like they had sat in cold fat. However, they mention that the standard of food has improved greatly and they are now impressed with the quality. This shows that the Dancing Octopus place has taken feedback into account and made improvements to their food.
Multiple commenters highlight the friendly and polite staff at the Dancing Octopus place. The service is praised as being enjoyable and the staff are described as well-spoken. This positive feedback regarding the staff indicates that they contribute to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere.
The food itself receives mixed feedback. Some commenters describe it as delicious, yummy, and a great pick-me-up after getting soaked in the rain. Others mention that the food is greasy and that the service is slow. These comments suggest that the quality of the food and service may not be consistent and can vary depending on the visit.
One weakness of the Dancing Octopus place is that they only accept cash as payment. This could be inconvenient for customers who prefer to pay with cards or do not have cash on hand.
Another weakness mentioned by a commenter is the lack of parking. This can be an inconvenience for customers who drive to the establishment.
In summary, the Dancing Octopus place in Newcastle under Lyme has strengths such as being touted as the best fish and chips in the area, having friendly staff, and offering good food at a reasonable price. However, there are weaknesses including inconsistent quality, not accepting card payments, greasy food, and slow service. Additionally, the lack of presence on food ordering platforms and inadequate parking can be inconveniences for potential customers.

Best TL Reviews

Touted as the best fish and chips in Newcastle under Lyme but I can only say it’s not the best I have tried in the United Kingdom. Was too hungry to take pictures of the actual order but now my curiosity is out of the way (been wanting to try this place for so long but they do not appear on any of the food ordering platforms), I’ll be trying other places to compare who’s best in the neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and nice and offered the kids some sweets while we waited in the sweltering summer heat. Be sure to have cash as they do not accept cards
I have had 1 poor experience when the chips i was served looked and tasted like they had sat in cold fat so i didnt go back for quite a while. I have been back recently and the standard of food has improved greatly and i was impressed with the standard, the staff are always friendly and i witnessed them constantly cleaning their work areas when not serving the customers. I now will use this chippy again with no hesitation
I've visited here twice both times I have encountered the most friendly staff two ladies, who cooked my fish fresh for me and both times my meal was most enjoyable I shall be paying a visit again thank you Ladies Ro from Beaumaris,????????????
Very nice fish and chips delicious. Good price as well and staff are very well spoken and polite ???? great first experience and I'll be back for sure.
Very greasy food. Pretty slow. Overall okay - we only visited as we were on the way past. Parking was lacking as well.
Very friendly lovely ladies working hard on a bank holiday, the others are shut so this a good opportunity for me to try what looks and smells like really nice food!
Very friendly, polite staff and yummy food. Their chips, gravy and sausage was the perfect pick me up after getting soaked twice in the rain today. Would definitely recommend!
Great chippy , Great staff ..Shame they don't take card payments ..
