Quick Facts About Duke of Cumberland
Duke of Cumberland Place has several strengths that make it a popular pub in Whitstable. The first strength is its cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Visitors have commented on the friendly and comfortable feel of the bar, making it a place where they can relax and feel at ease. The vintage English pub feeling adds to the charm and appeal of the place, making it a unique spot for locals and tourists alike.
Another strength of Duke of Cumberland Place is its live music offerings. Customers rave about the live bands that perform at the pub, describing it as the "full package" and a highlight of their visit. This adds to the overall experience and makes it an exciting and enjoyable place to spend an evening.
The pub also offers a range of well-stocked bars, including its own function room. This is particularly appreciated by customers who are looking for a venue for smaller parties. The rustic feel of the function room adds to the ambiance and creates a unique setting for gatherings. Additionally, the helpful staff at the pub contribute to its strengths, as customers have praised their friendliness and attentiveness.
Additionally, Duke of Cumberland Place is known for its selection of local beers. The pub's focus on local beers also supports the community by promoting local breweries and businesses.
Furthermore, the pub is dog-friendly, which is a strength for pet owners who want to enjoy a drink or a meal without leaving their furry friends behind. This makes the pub a popular choice for those who like to bring their dogs along.
However, Duke of Cumberland Place does have some weaknesses. One of the main weaknesses is the lack of parking. Customers have noted that finding a parking space nearby can be difficult, causing some inconvenience and frustration. While there are local car parks available, it adds an additional step for customers who would prefer to park close to the pub. This can be a deterrent for some potential customers who want easy access to the pub.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the occasional stickiness of the tables. Although most customers still recommend the pub despite this minor issue, it can be a turn-off for some who prefer cleaner and more well-maintained dining spaces. This is an area that the pub management should focus on to ensure a consistently pleasant experience for customers.
In conclusion, Duke of Cumberland Place has several strengths that contribute to its popularity as a pub in Whitstable. Its cozy and welcoming atmosphere, live music offerings, well-stocked bars, dog-friendly policy, and focus on local beers all make it an attractive destination for locals and tourists. Overall, Duke of Cumberland Place is highly regarded by customers and remains a favorite pub in Whitstable.

Coole Bar zum wohlfühlen
Nice venue for a smaller party - rustic feel function room with its own well stocked bar - helpful staff - would of been 5 stars but the venue has no parking so you have to hope there is a space near by or in local car parks
Vintage English pub feeling. I had a wonderful Sunday afternoon here in Whitstable and spent some of our time here. It was very hard to find a free parking space, so we had to take a little walk. Anyway I like this place and it had a friendly atmosphere in my opinion.
It's one of the best pubs in Whitstable - great crowd, live music, fireplace, dog friendly, some beautiful artwork, an outdoor area, a wee restaurant out the back (charming) and some great beers on tap. I've been coming here for years. They don't charge a 5er for a pint of guiness and the staff are lovely ... the tables are a wee bit sticky at times but I recommend stopping in. Meeting the locals - if you're worth meeting!
If you are lucky enough to watch a live band here you will get the full package and what really makes this pub special. Also really great for an afternoon pint.
Always great place to have a drink when in Whitstable. Lovely big old pub.
Love, love, love The Duke. It's one of our favourite pubs in Whitstable. On this occasion we were lucky to catch a live band while enjoying our drinks which was even better. The staff here are always amazing!
Lots of character, lots of wacky decor, lots of local beers. Loved it. They aren’t serving food (I’m not sure if that’s ever, or just at the moment because of coronavirus), but the ambience is great.
