Quick Facts About Fairmile Fisheries
Fairmile Fisheries has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Let's analyze each aspect in detail.
Strengths:
1. Longevity: Fairmile Fisheries has been in business for decades, indicating that they have built a loyal customer base over the years. This shows that the quality of their food and service has been consistently satisfactory to customers who have been using them for a long time.
2. Cash Only: While some customers may see this as a weakness, the fact that Fairmile Fisheries only accepts cash can also be seen as a strength. Many small businesses prefer to avoid credit/debit card fees, and having a cash point next door in the CoOp provides a convenient option for customers to withdraw cash if needed.
3. Fresh Cooked Food: Many customers appreciate that Fairmile Fisheries cooks their food fresh. This ensures that customers receive food that is hot and prepared specifically for them. The quality of their fish and chips is praised for having good tasting fish, the batter being just right, and the chips being enjoyable.
4. Social Distancing and Service: Some customers mention that Fairmile Fisheries maintains social distancing by making customers wait outside until their food is ready. This shows that the establishment is conscious of safety measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The mention of offering a perfect service and quality fish and chips indicates that the staff is dedicated to providing good customer service.
5. Location and Parking: The shop is positioned well with parking right outside, making it convenient for customers to access the establishment.
Weaknesses:
1. Ordering and Waiting: Several customers mention that the process of ordering is not efficient. Customers have to order on entry, and there is no capability to anticipate demand. This leads to waiting times of at least 30 minutes, standing around with other customers who are also waiting for their food. The restaurant doesn't serve customers in order, which means that waiting time can be unpredictable and potentially frustrating.
2. Food Quality: While some customers praise the taste of the food, others describe it as average or even greasy and horrible. This indicates that there might be inconsistencies in the quality of the food served at Fairmile Fisheries.
3. Rude Customer Service: One customer reports an extremely rude encounter with a staff member who refused service and closed the door. This negative experience suggests a lack of professionalism and customer care, which can significantly impact customer satisfaction.
4. Cost and Value: In one review, a customer expresses dissatisfaction with the value for money. They felt that the food was not worth the price paid, indicating that Fairmile Fisheries may need to reassess their pricing or improve the quality of their offerings.
Conclusion:
Fairmile Fisheries has its strengths and weaknesses. While it has a loyal customer base, the establishment faces challenges with the ordering process, food quality inconsistencies, and occasional rude customer service. These weaknesses should be addressed to improve overall customer satisfaction and maintain the longevity of the business.
Best TL Reviews
Cash only. You have to order on entry and eventually they cook it, they have no capability to anticipate demand. Expect to wait at least 30 minutes, stood around with loads of other customers who are also waiting for their food. They don't serve customers in order, so how long you wait is a lottery. Food is pretty average as well.
Been using this chip shop for decades and the same couple have owned it for all that time. Cash only as some small businesses don’t like to pay credit/debit card fees which I fully understand, and there is a cash point next door in the CoOp!
Seen some negative reviews here and all I can think of is they are from friends of rival local chip shops as we have never been dissatisfied with the food. If you want fresh cooked food then you have to wait, depending on timing there can be the odd item in the warmer ready to go. Also the shop is very well positioned with parking right outside.
For me the fish tastes really good the batter is just right and good chips. It's my preferred chippy in Christchurch.
Good fish and chips cooked fresh, still maintaining social distance by making you wait outside until food is ready and offering a perfect service and quality fish and chip's
Avoid at all costs!!!!! We had been to the quay and had a lovely day and decided to get some chips on the way home. We walked from town and went in and ordered a couple portions of chips and curry sauce to then be told it’s Cash only and they won’t take care payments. Wonder why it is cash only? ???? anyway we then went and got cash from our friend who was outside to then go in for the extremely RUDE man there to tell us he was closed and stood there and shut the door we have been there many times before and always rated the place now I will make sure we never return again with customer service like that. Its safe to say our lovely day out was ruined they clearly don’t want customers I wonder what inland revenue would say about cash only?
Excellent food, first class fish and chips from some lovely people - well done ????✅
AVOID. Hade to queue for 10 minutes we thought it would be worth the wait . How wrong was I greasy and horrible even the sea gulls wouldn’t eat it . Waste of £19. Be afraid. No wonder they only take cash .. RUBBISH
Delicious fish and chips cooked to order. Crispy batter, nothing too greasy. Cooked and served with a smile by two really nice ladies.
