Quick Facts About Ginger Cafe
Ginger Cafe has received a number of positive comments highlighting its strengths. The café is praised for its friendly welcome, wide range of food and drinks, and quick and attentive service. One customer specifically mentions the vegan options available, such as the vegan version of the English breakfast with haggis and aubergine. The café's décor is described as pleasant and inviting, and it seems to attract a steady stream of locals. The prices are also considered reasonable by some customers.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer expressed disappointment in the portion size of the vegan breakfast, wishing it could have been bigger. Another customer found the coffee and plain scone to have unusual flavors that they couldn't quite place. The choice of blackcurrant jam with the scone is considered unconventional but still works. Another weakness mentioned is that the front door of the café tends not to shut properly, causing a draft and inconvenience for customers sitting near it.
One negative comment about the café relates to poor service. A customer complained about receiving their order late, with the toastie arriving after the scones and hot drinks were already finished. The drinks were also noted to be only warm, and when the issue was raised with the waitress, they didn't seem to be particularly bothered. This customer states that they won't be returning to the café due to this poor experience.
Despite this negative comment, many other customers have praised the café for its delicious cakes, tasty coffee, and courteous service. One customer also mentions enjoying the salmon sandwiches and baked potato, commenting on their delicious flavors and good portion sizes. The surroundings and service are both commended by this customer.
However, there are still some areas that need improvement according to the comments. One customer notes that the café operates on a counter service model, and the customer service is not considered friendly. They believe there is room for improvement in this aspect. Another customer mentions that while the bacon roll they ordered was tasty, it took 15 minutes to arrive. Additionally, the selection of cakes and scones is described as being £3.25, which may be considered expensive by some.
Finally, one customer expresses their disappointment with the limited vegan options on the menu and finds the prices to be a bit expensive as well. They were particularly disappointed to find out that the soups on offer contained chicken stock, which goes against their dietary requirements as a vegan.
In conclusion, Ginger Cafe has several strengths such as a friendly welcome, a wide range of food and drinks, quick and attentive service, and vegan options. However, some weaknesses include small portion sizes, unusual flavors in some items, a faulty front door, poor service in one instance, and limited vegan options on the menu. Overall, the café seems to have positive aspects that appeal to customers, but there are areas that can be improved upon to enhance the overall dining experience.

I received a friendly welcome in this cosy café. There is a wide range of food and drinks. It is particularly pleasing that there is a vegan version of the English breakfast (certainly in a Scottish interpretation with haggis and aubergine, but everything was very good). The service was very quick and attentive. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to Perth.
It's a lovely cafe for food. Recommended for a visit.
I had a vegan breakfast there. It was good although I wish it could have been a bigger portion.
A nice wee place that seemed to attract a steady stream of locals. The decor was pleasant and inviting and there were quite a lot of tables. I had a coffee which tasted a bit unusual (vanilla-y?) and a plain scone that also had an unusual flavour I couldn't place. The scone was served with blackcurrant jam, which is an unconventional choice but worked with that scone.
Service was quick and friendly enough. Prices were reasonable. One drawback was that the front door tended not to shut properly, which annoyed customers sitting near it because they constantly had to get up and shut it or put up with the draught.
We stopped here for coffee today the service was very poor. We had 3 scones and a coffee and tea and my husband ordered a toastie.
The scones and hot drinks came and we were nearly finished before the toastie arrived.
The drinks were just warm and when we told the waitress she wasn’t particularly bothered.
Won’t be back!
What a lovely cafe, delicious cakes, tasty coffee in comfortable surroundings, the service was courteous too.
Husband (veggie), and I both enjoyed our 1st visit to this great wee café.
Salmon sandwiches and baked potato were delicious and very good portions.
Definitely be back when next in Perth.
Surroundings and service to be commended.
Town centre. Order at counter. Few customers. Soup £5.50. Had coffee but small cups. Bacon roll ordered, took 15 mins, but tasty. Customer service not friendly, room for improvement. Selection of cakes/scones £3.25.
I was very much looking forward to having lunch here with my friend. The menu looks good but limited for vegans and a tad expensive too. I was about to order the soup and sandwich meal only to discover that both the soups Carrot and Ginger and vegetable soup both had chicken stock in them. Very very disappointed, who puts chicken stock in veggie soups???
