Quick Facts About Heads Up Hair Care
Heads Up Hair Care has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned by multiple reviewers is the affordable price. The haircut price ranges from $15 to $25, depending on the service. This makes it attractive to customers who are looking for a budget-friendly option. Additionally, the salon operates on a walk-in basis, eliminating the need for appointments and providing convenience to customers who may have a sudden need for a haircut.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the fast service. Many customers mentioned that the haircuts were done quickly, usually within 6 to 8 minutes, or 30 minutes for longer haircuts. This makes it ideal for individuals with busy schedules or those who prefer to spend minimal time at the salon.
Some customers also praised the communication and attention to detail exhibited by the stylists. They mentioned that the stylists took the time to discuss the desired hairstyle with the customers and confirmed their preferences throughout the process. This helps ensure that customers receive the hairstyle they want and minimizes the chances of miscommunication.
The salon's cleanliness and adherence to safety protocols were also mentioned by one of the reviewers as a positive aspect. They appreciated the open windows and doors for airflow, as well as the adherence to mask-wearing by stylists and clients. This indicates that the salon prioritizes the health and safety of its customers and staff.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One of the most commonly mentioned flaws is the lack of versatility in hairstyles. Several customers noted that the salon specializes in a specific Chinese style haircut, with long hair on top and short sides. This could be a limitation for customers who prefer different hairstyles or are looking for more diverse options.
Another weakness mentioned by a few reviewers is the lack of attention to customer preferences. Some customers reported that their desired hairstyles were not properly executed. They mentioned instances where the stylists did not listen to their instructions or did not consult them before beginning the haircut process. This demonstrates a lack of customer-focused approach and may lead to dissatisfaction with the final results.
There were also a few comments about the owner's demeanor and customer service. One reviewer mentioned that the owner could use more warmth and smiles when interacting with customers. Another reviewer highlighted the need for the owner to handle situations where a haircut does not meet the customer's expectations more professionally and without holding grudges. These comments indicate that there may be room for improvement in terms of customer service and overall customer experience.
In conclusion, Heads Up Hair Care has strengths such as affordable prices, fast service, and attention to detail in some cases. However, they also have weaknesses including a limited range of hairstyles, instances of not meeting customer preferences, and potential improvements needed in customer service.

If you like Chinese style haircut (long hair on top / short sides) that might be place for you. Price is $20, usually hair cute is done in about 6 - 8 minutes, so don't expect to be a very nice and proportional cut. But if you don't like that style don't try to ask for something different because they simply don't know any other styles.
Friendly and fast $20 haircut! My haircut wasn't exactly symmetrical but I guess you get what you pay for.
If making your hair short with cheap price is the only thing you want, go to this place. But if getting a right hairstyle is important to you, never go to this place because they don't listen to what customers ask for.
I had a specific hairstyle I wanted, so I showed a picture of it and clearly asked this is what I wanted. But she took a look at the picture less than a second and started right away with a clipper. Because the very first clipping already made my hair much shorter than I wanted, I didn't have time to stop her. Eventually now my hair is way way far from what I expected.
I know I shouldn't expect too much from $16, but you should at least pretend to listen to what your customer is asking for. I'm giving 1 star only because there is no option of giving zero.
Very good place, no appointments needed, just walk in and they only accept CASH. They are doing excellent job. the price is 18$ and up so far(March 27, 2022). Will come back again!
I agree with others. This is a hidden gem in Albany!!!
I have thick somewhat but not quite curvy hair. I was skeptical about this palce at first (I know this does not look like a fancy salon type of place). But I want to cut my hair so badly, so I gave it a try today.
No appointment needed. I went in around ~ 2 PM and waited around 15 mins before my turn.
The lady discussed with me how I want my hair to be cut in detail and confimed with me a few times during the process.
My hair looked so nice afterwards. It is the perfect length as what I wanted.
My haircut (long to short + style) only cost $25!!! Also, it is pretty quick. Only took around 30 mins (I do have long hair~~)
One last thing: Cash only! Reminder to bring some cash!
If you are wondering like me before, give it a try! I will definitely come back in the future.
This is a hidden gem for haircuts in Berkeley!!!
I am a woman with straight shoulder length hair and went in for a trim, Cindy was professional and did an excellent job on my haircut with very clean edges, the perfect length and just the right amount of face framing.
Not to mention my haircut only cost $18! I really feel and look like a million bucks.
There was only one other customer in the salon at the time and they were far away, and the windows and doors were open for airflow. In addition all stylists and clients were properly masked.
If you are in need of a trim I definitely recommend this shop, especially Cindy!
I've been coming here for 6 years as did my late father. Cindy and Lana are particularly well versed at what they are trained to do. Lana has my particular haircut and styling down to a science and I'm usually out of there in a half and hour. I come whenever I need to and they're accommodating.
Prices are reasonable. I live locally so it's also convenient.
For $15 bucks or so, the cut is generally fine for the price. The owner can use more smile and show more welcoming warmth towards her customers. When it happens that the cut is not so good (it happens to all), apologize, offer to make correction, and move on, rather than holding grudges. No one is perfect all the time!
