I have been driving by this place for years on my way home from work and always seem to forget about it when it comes time to get a haircut. I dropped in at lunch and met Otis for the first time today. Really nice and personable guy, got me in and out quickly and his prices are a STEAL! I will definitely be back.
I love Johnson's barber shop. Classic, old time barber shop that doesn't go out of style. Otis is respectful and courteous; incredibly easy to talk to and knows a lot about music and Columbus. My son had his first haircut with Mr Johnson and both my sons look forward to our visits. You won't find a more genuine person.
I always look and feel better after a haircut from Otis. He’s quite hospitable and a joy to talk other, too.

Only 3 stars because I couldn't actually get my haircut, but I will try again. The shop was closed w a great letter from the owner explaining he was out for a while due to open heart surgery. Some customers added their own letters wishing him well and such. Pretty cool to see and he's obviously loved by the community.
I've been a regular customer since Johnson's Barber Shop was established on E Lincoln since I can't remember when. I'm thinking about 2004 ish (?) Close to 20 years now ! As professional a barber as could ever be. He asks about preferences up front, meets expectations, asks about trimming eyebrows which most accept and appreciate. Ends with a warm cream neck trim with a straight razor and you are handed a mirror to view the final cut. He will go back at it if you care for more trimming/balance.
One more service you rarely find is a straight razor face trim !
You will be hard pressed to find a better barber and a nicer fellow. After a few visits, he'll know you by name. The experience at the shop is old school. He's a one man show and it's quite common to have a few ahead of you. Good conversation while waiting is a virtue.

Best barber shop in town! I've been going to Otis for my #3 buzzcut for years. Took my son there for his first shave not too long ago... so here's a pic of Otis and his barber shop.
I had a great experience getting my hair cut here. Mr. Otis Johnson is a wonderful man who is always ready for conversation and personally gets to know his customers. I had gotten a recommendation to try this barber out by my father, and he remembered my father when I told him. I'm not much for chatter, but I had no problem talking to Otis the entire time he was cutting my hair. He was even quick to answer my questions that I had. As I told Otis as I left, I will definitely be returning here from now on.
