Quick Facts About Kensington Roof Gardens
Kensington Roof Gardens has several strengths that make it a popular and beloved destination in London. One of its main strengths is the stunning and unique atmosphere it offers. Visitors feel as if they are stepping into a different world, surrounded by beautiful gardens, flamingos, and ducks. The oriental pavilion adds to the exotic and enchanting feel of the place. This creates a relaxing and enjoyable environment for guests to unwind and spend time.
The views from Kensington Roof Gardens are also highly praised. While the restaurant terrace offers a great view of London, the entire space provides panoramic views of the city. This adds to the overall experience and allows visitors to appreciate the beauty of London from a different perspective. The gardens and views also serve as a picturesque backdrop for special events such as weddings, making it a popular choice for couples.
The staff at Kensington Roof Gardens is another strength of the place. They are described as friendly, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring the satisfaction of guests. This contributes to a positive experience and leaves visitors feeling well looked after. The staff's professionalism and helpfulness add value to the overall experience at Kensington Roof Gardens.
The presence of live pink flamingos is a unique feature that sets Kensington Roof Gardens apart from other attractions in central London. This adds to the charm and uniqueness of the place, giving visitors a memorable and one-of-a-kind experience. The inclusion of other animals such as ducks and ducklings further adds to the appeal, especially for nature lovers.
On the other hand, Kensington Roof Gardens does have some weaknesses that can be addressed. One comment mentioned that the view is only visible from the restaurant terrace, which may be disappointing for some visitors who expect a more widespread view of London. The comment suggests that it would be beneficial to provide better access to the view from other areas within the gardens.
Another weakness mentioned is the pricing of the food. Whilst the atmosphere and quality of the food appear to be good, the pricing is deemed as expensive by some visitors. The specific comment mentions that £15 for burgers and fries is costly. Additionally, the inclusion of an automatic 12.5% service charge without clear upfront notification can be seen as deceptive. Furthermore, the lack of table service even though a service charge is applied may leave visitors feeling dissatisfied.
In conclusion, Kensington Roof Gardens has several strengths that make it a popular destination. The stunning atmosphere, unique views of London, friendly staff, and the presence of live flamingos and other animals make it a memorable and enjoyable experience for visitors. However, addressing weaknesses such as providing better access to views and clearer communication regarding service charges can further enhance the overall experience at Kensington Roof Gardens. Nonetheless, it remains a highly recommended place to relax, enjoy nature, and take in the beauty of London.

Sehr beeindruckend

A great restaurant as well as a wedding venue with rooms dedicated to ceremony on a separate floor. Great food and excellent facilities with views all over london. I photographed 3 weddings there so far and loved the gardens and views as backdrop to the photos. The staff was great and all the guests were always well looked after. We even sat next to Sir Richard on one of the occasions, seemed like a nice chap. Oh, and the flamingos (and the ducklings) are awesome!
Where else in central London can you find live pink flamingos? Seriously?! This is a lovely oasis right in the middle of Kensington. Has a wonderful garden rooftop which makes you feel as if you are in a park.
We attended on an evening when there were classical music performances. Enjoyed the performances. Food was pricey! Cost £15 for burgers and fries.
Tip: Read the small print and you will find that a 12.5% automatic service charge is included in the burger stand price. This was deceptive and not stated up front. Curiously, there was no service, as we had to stand, order, and pick up our food. In other words, we had to pay a tip for a take away order.
