Ok i guess? Went there for wash, cut and blow dry. My hair was really long, they charged me a decent price for the service. I paid $45 plus $10 tip, not bad! Honestly, I was happy with the way my hair came out. However, they didn't do a good job washing my hair because while the lady was drying it, it smelled like a bucket full of dirty water that's been sitting there for days...you know, that old dirty mop smell? Yeah...So embarrassing! Anyways, I let it slide because I was really happy with the results. And because I wasn't disappointed with the way my hair looked, I took my 8 year old daughter for a wash, cut a little bit the ends and blow dry it, but this time I wasn't too happy at all! Again, they did a slappy job washing her hair and blow drying it! My daughter did not look like she actually had her hair fixed at the salon!! I had to retouched it at home because it was bad, and to make it even worse, they charged me $65!! Why??? She's a little kid! Smdh...
Another thing, they start talking in their language and look at each other like, giving you this vibe they're talking bout you!
I find it so rude when a foreign language is being spoken in the presence of a customer. Anyways..3 ???? ????????and not coming back.
I was recently at the salon located in Bayside. My hairdresser was Nelly and she did an amazing job. She was very professional and I will be definitely coming back!
This shop is very accompanying to their clients and it is always very clean!! All of the beauticians are truly gifted and very friendly! This shop is a must for your hair needs!!!! I need to add that this a beauty parlor/barber all under one roof!!
Nelly ls the best hair dresser. My hair always looks beautiful. My blowout last me the full week. I am so satisfied here.
My husband and I regularly come to this salon and even went over the pandemic to style our hair for change the date shots. Check out my do! They are literally the best! Thank you for always making me feel like a princess!
After going to the same hair stylist since 1974 in Fresh Meadows D’ferraro Hair Designer-they closed. My stylist and friend for decades ROCCO joined the La Mirage team on Bell Blvd. I had my hair cut at Rocco's new ""home" today. Same amazing cut great atmosphere as well. the owner BORIS really treated me like a customer and made me feel at home. LYNN who also works at shop welcomed me with open arms as well. I can't wait to go back!
The name “La Mirage” is very deceiving I thought this was a Hispanic salon which they can typically handle my hair texture. Anyways looking at their customer base mainly people with fine hair+me being the only customer with kinky curly hair was a disaster. First red flag ???? after my hair was washed and soaking wet they sent me straight to the salon chair mind you my back was pretty much soaked after I left due to not drying my hair or at lesser ringing it out. prior. Second red flag ???? this poor lady took a year and a day to blow dry my kinky curly hair because it seems that she only has experience with finer hair textures. Third red flag ???? the STARES !! It was extremely uncomfortable sitting in a chair where I looked like a poodle (as curly haired people do after you brush out dried hair) with it being not as busy all the employees either stared, smirked, and I’m pretty sure they were talking about me in another language at one point. Fourth red flag ???? after the lady finished initially my roots were still corse (I think she was scared of burning me) but I had to tell her to go back in and touch up a little. Fifth red flag ???? “the comments I got wow what a big difference, I’ve done curly hair before but not this bad, don’t take hot showers, how long does it last a week?, you should get a Brazilian treatment, ect”. I wasn’t mad particularly because I understand that they are not use to dealing with hair textures like mine, and if I wasn’t already getting my hair washed by the time I noticed that I messed up I would have left, but word of advice to the salon be HONEST and UPFRONT with your customers if your employees can’t handle certain hair textures then say that, I’d rather them be upfront and honest then waste my time and money. Overall though besides the side comments the hair dresser made, she was actually very nice and gentle to me with a little work she has a lot of potential to do different textures of hair better but she does need work. When I got home I had to basically touch up on most of it.
Nelly,
Is the absolute hands down best hair dresser in the world.. my hair always looks beautiful and silky and shining.
