Quick Facts About Mario's Place Barber Shop

Mario's Place Barber Shop has a mix of strengths and weaknesses, as highlighted by the comments provided. It is important to consider these factors before deciding whether to visit the barber shop.
One of the strengths mentioned by multiple commenters is the friendliness of the staff. Many customers appreciated the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere of the barber shop, creating a positive experience for them. This is an important aspect for customers who value a friendly environment while getting their hair cut.
Another strength mentioned is the expertise and professionalism of some barbers. According to one comment, Mike, who is believed to be Mario's son, gives a great cut and has the necessary skills to provide customers with a satisfactory haircut. This expertise is likely to be a significant draw for customers, especially those who are seeking reliable and quality haircuts.
Additionally, the affordability of the haircuts at Mario's Place Barber Shop is mentioned in a positive light. One customer mentioned that they received "one of the best haircuts" at a fraction of the cost compared to other barbershops. The affordability factor is likely to attract customers who are on a budget or simply looking for good value for their money.
On the other hand, there are clear weaknesses in the comments that need to be taken into consideration. One repeated complaint is about the cutting skills of an older barber at the shop. Customers have observed that his cuts lack attention to detail, resulting in missed spots and an overall unsatisfactory haircut. This lack of skill and attention may deter potential customers who are seeking a well-executed haircut.
Furthermore, the rushed nature of some haircuts is also mentioned as a weakness. Customers have felt that they were pushed out of the shop too quickly and not given enough time to inspect their haircuts. This rushed approach may lead to dissatisfaction, as customers may not be able to identify any mistakes or areas that need correction until they leave the barber shop.
Inconsistency in the quality of haircuts is another weakness mentioned in the comments. One customer had a positive experience with the younger barber, presumably the owner's son, but received a terrible haircut from the older barber. This inconsistency may create uncertainty for customers who are looking for consistent quality.
Finally, it is important to note that a few customers had negative experiences, even though they acknowledged the friendly staff. One customer felt cheated and embarrassed by the poor haircut they received, despite the friendliness of the barbers. These negative experiences may deter potential customers who prioritize a well-executed haircut over the staff's friendliness alone.
Considering all these aspects, it is crucial for potential customers to evaluate their priorities and preferences. If a positive and friendly environment is highly valued, Mario's Place Barber Shop may be a suitable option. However, those who prioritize consistent and well-executed haircuts may need to proceed with caution, considering the mixed feedback on the quality and attention to detail provided by some barbers. It might also be worth asking specifically for certain barbers who have received positive reviews to improve the chances of a satisfactory experience.

Best TL Reviews

The overweight old man gives an awful cut. No attention to what he’s doing.
I went in for just a head buzz and a clean up around my beard. Only time I’ve ever had someone push that hard on the clippers. Painful buzz the whole way through.
Upon telling me I was done and the price I looked in the mirror and asked for him to please brush off the hair trimmings still on my head and face. He was like “oh yeah”.
Got home and trimmed up the many many places he missed myself.
If he ain’t the owner, get a better guy.
The best barber I’ve ever went to, this guys the real deal. He takes his craft seriously, what more could you want from a barber?
I’ve been here a few times now. It was convenient because I live across the street. My haircut has been really inconsistent. The younger guy, I think it’s the owners son, has always given a decent cut. But the last time I went I had the older man cut my hair and it felt very rushed and an entire section of my hair was not even touched. I didn’t notice until I got home and washed my hair. The front right section was left nearly an inch longer than the rest.. It was honestly one of the worst cuts I have ever received. For 30 bucks plus tip it felt very over priced for the time and attention given to my cut. Unfortunately I will not be returning because of the sloppy work and have found a new barber in the neighborhood.
Old school and super relaxed. Maybe it was the perfect day but really friendly and overall... perfect. Thank you.
Super friendly service and commanded her station. After the cut, she styled it exactly how I wanted it, and gave me tips so I can pull it off on my own. Will definitely be back!
I havent been to a Barber Shop since I was probably 12. So thats about 43 years ago. I checked out Marios and sat down with Jason. In 20 minutes, I had one of the best haircuts, at the fraction of the cost, in the last 20+ years. Clean, good looking, fresh, professional. And the trio of barbers had some of the best one liners and jokes ever! Do yourself a favor and check them out. Oh yeah, tip well.
Best barber shop in Chicago. Mike (Mario's son) gives a great cut and the atmosphere is second to none. A family business that has stood the test of time. Organized a neck shave for all of my groomsmen the morning of my wedding and Mario, Mike and Jason showed us a great time and we all looked incredibly fresh heading into the big day. Definitely recommend!
Super friendly people, terrible haircut. Pushed me out of the shop too fast to inspect the haircut. Feel cheated out of my money. I saw bad reviews prior and still gave it a try, I suggest skipping the haircut or going elsewhere. I’ll be wearing a hat for the next two weeks. Embarrassing.
