Most of the order was missing, half of what we got was cold, and the last time I checked, curry sauce was meant to pour...it's more like peanut butter. Chippy night ruined. (Ordered 16th September 2022)
Walk in customer. Gone really downhill really quick. I had high expectations when it first opened, the fish was very tasty now it’s dry and thin. The portion sizes tonight were really small like child’s portions. We had a small chips and was like 20 chips in the wrapper and doner meat portion was tiny. This was not worth the £23 spent. Will now go elsewhere.

only to get home to discover that one part of the order was missing and another item wasn’t what was ordered, contacted the shop to inform them of the issue only to be asked if I sure that item was missing as the person on the phone did the order, when I said yes I’m positive it wasn’t with the order, they asked me again if I was sure, I then asked if I could return the item that was received as it wasn’t what was ordered only to be informed that they didn’t have any Doner meat left. They did say they would speak to the manager and process a refund which I agreed to, however where others had dinner one person sadly didn’t get to enjoy a night off from cooking.
Still waiting for the refund.
Have had fish and chips three times since its reopening and sadly the quality is poor. The fish used to be excellent but now they are small pieces with lots of soggy batter.
This place used to be great before it closed down. It was always quite expensive but I thought the additional cost was worth it as the quality was excellent. Sadly now it has reopened (without any actual explanation) we have been disappointed with the last few orders. The quality simply does not justify the cost unfortunately. From now on, I think we will be going elsewhere.
Decided to have fish and chips for late dinner. Checked web site opening hours clearly displayed unable to order for click and collect so drove up to order 8:20pm on arrival it was closed!!!! Website shows open till 9 pm on a Saturday however it was closed at 8:30 . Definitely a fail I wasn’t the only person to be disappointed at the early closure. I can’t review the food as wasn’t able to try any .
I have left a 5* rating before, however this time I felt very let down.
My treat when I go to merchants is the sea bass with chips, and like any other restaurant I have been to and ordered sea bass, you always get the two fillets of the fish. However on this occasion I only got one, my husband questioned this as that has never happened before. He was told that that's is how it's given from now on.
My husband said 'forget it, I'm not paying nearly £11.00 for what in theory is a mini cod and chips'.
So he asked for a normal cod and chips, instead.
When he got home I still had the one piece of sea bass and also a piece of cod.
However the cod was sooo dry it was bearly edible.
So I don't think I'll be visiting there again, after being a fan for many years and I was so happy when they finally reopened. But overall I am really disappointed with the service and I hope other future customers read this before ordering.

Collected my order tonight and it was in the warmer Machine lady swapped brown bag over as it had burnt the bag .got food home we threw 1 whole fish away due to it tasting burnt n chewy. Tried to phone up to let them know so they can sort machine temp out .no answer .dont want it to happen to other people's food .
