Quick Facts About Mimosa Salon
Mimosa Salon has received a range of comments, both positive and negative. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the salon, we will consider the following aspects: quality of services, variety of nail colors and techniques, customer service, pricing, cleanliness, and ambiance.
Starting with the strengths, several customers consistently praised the quality of the services provided at Mimosa Salon. They mentioned that their manicures and nail treatments lasted for several weeks without chipping or fading. This indicates that the salon uses high-quality products and skilled technicians, which is a definite strength.
Additionally, customers commended the salon for its wide selection of nail colors, particularly gel polishes. The salon was described as having multiple walls dedicated to gel colors, and customers appreciated the variety available. The inclusion of SNS in ombré was especially noted as a unique offering that is not widely available in many other salons. This variety in nail colors and techniques is a strength as it caters to different preferences and ensures that customers can find the style they desire.
Another strength mentioned by customers is the service provided by the salon staff. Multiple reviews highlighted the incredible service and attention to detail. The staff members were specifically praised for their gentleness while handling nails and their ability to create artistic designs. This positive customer experience indicates that the salon has well-trained and friendly staff who prioritize customer satisfaction.
Regarding pricing, while some customers mentioned that Mimosa Salon is relatively more expensive compared to other salons, they also acknowledged that the higher price is justified by the superior quality of the services. Despite being pricier, customers reported being satisfied with the results and felt that it was worth the extra cost. This suggests that the salon provides good value for the price and offers high-quality services.
Moving on to weaknesses, a recurring criticism was the cleanliness and attention to detail when it came to cuticles. One customer mentioned that the salon did not automatically clean or cut cuticles unless requested, which is expected as a standard part of the nail service. Another customer expressed disappointment with the overall neatness and cleanliness of their nails, especially considering the higher price they paid. This indicates a potential weakness in the salon's attention to cleanliness and thoroughness in nail treatments.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer was the lack of hospitality and poor customer service. This was exemplified by the lack of offered refreshments, particularly a mimosa despite the salon's name, and the interaction between a staff member and the customer involving a prank about charging for a mimosa. This kind of behavior and lack of hospitality can create a negative impression and deter customers from returning.
Additionally, one customer reported feeling unwelcome and mentioned that the salon did not provide a positive experience during their recent visits. This negative feedback contributes to a weakness in creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers.
Lastly, the issue of parking was raised as a potential inconvenience. Adams Morgan is known for limited parking spaces, and this could be seen as a weakness for those who prefer easy access to the salon.
In conclusion, Mimosa Salon has several strengths, including high-quality services, a wide variety of nail colors and techniques, and great customer service. However, there are also weaknesses in terms of cleanliness, hospitality, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. It is essential for the salon to address these weaknesses and consistently deliver a positive experience to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.

I've been getting my nails done here regularly for over a year. Amazing quality -- the manicure dip will last up to four weeks -- and the service is incredible. I absolutely recommended mimosa in Adams Morgan
Solid place to get your nails done and a mimosa... or two ????. They have a ridiculous amount of nail colors lol! At least three walls dedicated to gel. My nail tech did a great job on my nails and I have no complaints. They did take a decent amount of time (~ 2 hours for me and 2.5 for my sister... we were the first ones in the store) so don’t make any plans after. Check them out!
Mimosa Nails is THE place to get your nails done in Northwest DC! I got a full set with a combination of gel polish and encapsulation. It took my nail technician about 2 hours, but the results were great! She did a great job shaping and was gentle on my nails. There was a chill, nice vibe about the salon, but it was very busy--definitely call and make an appointment before you come in. I did this the day of and was fine.
Got a great manicure here. $20, regular nail polish, and it looked flawless for 10 days. My staff member paid great attention to detail and started the polish right behind the cuticles. Also the included sparkling wine really adds to the experience
My new favorite nail salon! Have a refreshing mimosa while you get your nails done in the most artistic way. They offer SNS in ombré! Not many salons offer that technique yet so I was happy to find one that executed it well. Little pricey, but most decent salons around here are and you get what you pay for. I’ve tried going to cheaper salons and they have either cut my skin or the nails looked awful. I’d much rather pay more to be satisfied. Also the SNS job here is done so well it last for about a month.
Mimosa has declined greatly over the years, they legit do not clean or cut your cuticles unless you ask? I’m paying $75 for a full set and it not neat and clean. I like them for pedicures on a girls day but nails is a no go for me.
I used to love this place. My go to place. They gave great service, and felt like a positive experience. The last two times I went we’re unfortunately neither. Had to come back form my gel 5 days after and then they told showed me two ladies who worked there as the only two ladies who could of done my nails, neither were her. Then they said my colors don’t look like the nail color I had, maybe I went somewhere else. Sir??? Did I tell you I was here five days ago and paid with credit card, we could solve this mystery nail tech you allowed to paint my nails and charge me if you just look in the machine behind me. As if I want to come back down twice to get my nail fixed.
So rude. Ok never again.
I came here before going on vacation to Hawaii. Not a bad job, I guess. They have a pretty decent gel polish selection (lots of OPI) and then I also got a pedicure. I never get anything fancy so unless you cut my cuticles wrong, it’s hard to disappoint. My total was like $70, so pretty normal. They play some cool videos that show you how to make things that you probably never would’ve thought to make.
It’s in Adams Morgan so parking isn’t the best.
Giving it three stars because i just didn’t feel welcomes. They didn’t offer me a mimosa, or even a damn water. Sounds petty, I know - but It’s called the mimosa bar, but yet I wasn’t offered a mimosa. I finally asked for one because I saw a few women with them and the lady said “it’ll be five dollars!”. I thought to myself that’s odd, I thought it was free, but said umm, okay... that’s fine. Then she started laughing and said it was a joke. Honestly I even don’t think I cracked a smile.
I have no desire to return. I only took a photo of my nails as I was walking out.
