Quick Facts About Nanette African Hair Braiding

Nanette African Hair Braiding, based on the comments provided, has a mixed reputation with both strengths and weaknesses.
Starting with strengths, one commenter mentioned that the workers are nice, indicating that the customer service provided at the salon is generally pleasant and friendly. Another commenter appreciated the owner's professionalism and willingness to address their concerns by offering to redo their hair for a lower price. Additionally, one commenter praised the speed and efficiency of the braiding service, stating that they were in and out of the salon relatively quickly.
However, there are several weaknesses that were highlighted in the comments as well. Pricing appears to be a significant issue, with some customers feeling that they were overcharged for the services they received. One commenter specifically mentioned being charged for longer hair even though the stylist did not use it, resulting in an unnecessary expense. Another customer expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the braids, stating that they were too short and poorly done, giving the impression that the stylists may not have paid attention to the customer's specific requests.
Hygiene and cleanliness concerns were also raised, with one commenter mentioning that the salon had a bad smell and that more attention should be given to cleaning and adding air fresheners. A lack of professionalism was cited by multiple customers, with complaints of rude and unprofessional behavior from the employees. One particular stylist, Amina, received negative feedback for having an attitude and speaking unkindly about customers in their native language. Additionally, poor communication skills were highlighted by a customer who experienced a misunderstanding with the stylist and felt belittled for not noticing a mistake.
Other complaints included the lack of ability to get certain hairstyles, such as cornrows or knotless braids, due to limited expertise within the salon. There were also concerns about the lack of attention to detail, with one commenter mentioning that the stylist did not properly part the hair, resulting in an uneven appearance and difficulty in styling the hair as desired. Lastly, several customers expressed discomfort and pain due to the tightness of the braids and rough handling during the styling process.
In conclusion, Nanette African Hair Braiding has strengths in terms of friendly workers, speed of service, and willingness to address customer concerns. However, there are several weaknesses such as overpricing, poor quality of braids, hygiene issues, unprofessional behavior, limited expertise in certain hairstyles, lack of attention to detail, and uncomfortable braiding techniques. These weaknesses should be addressed in order to improve customer satisfaction and reputation.

Best TL Reviews

The workers are nice but I did not like how the lady did my box braids at the ends because she didnt have the longer hair and still charged me for the longest length. If I go back I will bring my own hair. The place smell bad they need to clean up more and put out air fresheners. The prices are not bad. I paid 150 but got the 130 braids put in so that was her tip????????‍♀️....they do good box braids and twist. Didnt see anyone getting cornrows. My head was very tight when I got home I oiled it and took a hot shower and wet the front of my head, that helped alot.
They are way to overpriced, $200 for waist length knotless braids ?!?! I asked for $140 for length my daughters hair, Me & my daughter was so unhappy with the outcome as she went home she cried, it was to short. It’s like they did there own thing in her hair. Very unprofessional, do not recommend.
If I had the option to give this review less than one star, I would. Do not enter this salon. Employees are rude and unprofessional. They talk about you in their native culture and my braids were way too tight. I even returned back to ask the employee to redo my braids and she said rudely another time. If you want hair on your head, dont enter through their doors. I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE. I can't figure out how to post a photo but do your research. The simple fact, that the employee let me walk out the salon, looking the way
I was please because the owner was professional, I had my hair crochet and i wasn't please and she spoke to me and she redo my hair for half the price and even went with me to the beauty supplies store ,so everyone experience is different .
I went to this salon for the first time and completely unprofessional. AMINA is the WORST. She had an attitude because I wanted my braids longer stomping around and started speaking in her language when she clearly speaks English. I left with only 2 rows of box braids. I would never recommend this establishment. Customers came in to get knotless braids turned away because only 1 person does that style. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY GOING HERE FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE.
Took my young daughter to get her hair braided for the second time, which turned out very nice. it's the lack of professionalism from a stylist who wasn't even doing my daughter's hair is the reason why I will not be returning back. Me and my daughter pointed out the picture on the wall what hair she wanted done she agreed and asked what color hair I told black. When the the stylist finished my daughter's hair I noticed the ends weren't curled, so I asked my daughter did she change her mind. my daughter replied no. The other stylist jumps in and said you sat here and said nothing. I responded I'm not a hair dresser I didn't know she was finished until she told my daughter to stand up. As I'm responding to what she said starts screaming in her native language talking over me and about me to the other stylist, all I understood was American people. I was confused for two reasons. One this women inserted herself in something that had nothing to do with her. Two is how are you getting mad at me because the stylist forgot to do the hair style my daughter & I showed her in the picture. I left no tip and left. The lady who sits in the 2nd chair from the front door is horrible. As long as she continues to work their they will loose customer's. This place needs a major renovation & upgrade starting with some of the staff.
The owner seems nice, however, the place is very dirty. Also, I am not pleased with my box braids. The hair dresser didn't part my hair into squares. The parts on my scalp are random and I'm not able to wear my hair with a clean middle or side part, which I do not like.
I asked for medium sized braids and even showed her a picture of what I wanted, but the braids are very small halfway down the shaft of each braid and she didn't bother to feed in more hair to keep them medium sized.
Lastly, the braids are extremely tight. She was rough when combing, blow drying, and installing. It was very painful and difficult for me to sleep the first 4 nights of having them in.
