Starting with the positive comments, it is evident that Neil's Barber Shop has some strengths. The comment about the calming atmosphere indicates that the shop provides a comfortable and relaxed environment for customers. This is crucial in ensuring a positive barber shop experience, as individuals often visit barber shops to unwind and enjoy some self-care. Additionally, the mention of good conversation suggests that the barbers are friendly and engaging, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Another strength highlighted by the comments is the professionalism of the staff. Multiple customers mention that the barbers are patient when dealing with children, showcasing their ability to handle challenging situations and ensure a satisfactory outcome for both children and parents. Additionally, the professionalism and kindness of Kevin Young, one of the barbers, is praised specifically. This indicates that the staff members at Neil's Barber Shop possess the necessary skills and qualities to provide a high level of customer service.
Furthermore, the positive reviews also mention the quality of the haircuts provided. The positive experience of the customer who switched from taking their children to now getting their own haircut at Neil's Barber Shop also showcases their ability to cater to diverse customer needs.
However, Neil's Barber Shop also has some weaknesses that can be gleaned from the negative comments. One customer mentions that their son was shut out when he asked about the shop's opening hours. This indicates a lack of communication or possibly poor customer service, as customers should be provided with adequate information.
Furthermore, a negative review alludes to an unprofessional experience, with the customer reporting that the barber was rough with the machines and charged an excessive fee. This suggests a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for customer satisfaction, which can be damaging to the reputation of the shop.
Additionally, there are comments about specific barbers at Neil's Barber Shop not being knowledgeable or skilled enough to handle certain hair types. One customer mentions their disappointment with a barber's inability to style their mixed child's hair appropriately, suggesting a lack of diversity in the barber's skillset. This highlights the importance of having a team of barbers who are trained and experienced in working with various hair types and textures to cater to a diverse clientele.
Another negative review discusses a miscommunication regarding pricing, with the customer feeling misled about additional charges. This points to a need for clearer communication and transparency from the staff regarding pricing and any potential additional fees.
In conclusion, Neil's Barber Shop possesses several strengths, including a calming atmosphere, good conversation, professionalism, and the ability to deliver quality haircuts. However, there are some weaknesses to address, such as communication issues, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of diverse skills among some barbers. By addressing these weaknesses and working on enhancing their strengths, Neil's Barber Shop can strive to provide an even better experience for their customers.

My son. Used to love this place but they shut the door in his face when he asked where they open
Great guy. Calming atmosphere. Good conversation. Great cut!! Kevin Young is always kind and professional!!
The staff is very professional. They have been cutting my one year old’s hair for three months now. He can be fussy and moves a lot in the chair, but they are very patient with him, getting the job done each time. I highly recommend this business.
Moe, my favorite barber, go check him out
I used to take my kids years ago for hair cut, now this time it became my turn to make a change, and was welcome by Kevin that reassure me that everything was going to be fine. I love the new hair cut. Thanks Kevin
I’m not one to be rough with reviews but this experiance was horrible. The man that cut my hair was really rough with the machines and felt my hair get pulled by the machine quiet a few times. All I asked for was a 2 on the sides and leave the top alone and the whole thing was just unprofessional and it looked horrible. On top of that they charged me $30.. for such a simple thing. I really don’t think the “barber” had his license and if he does the school shouldn’t be qualified to give them. Trust me on this you don’t want to regret it like I am. Find another place to get a cut.
I called before going to this barbershop. The guy that answered the phone (older cat with the fade) told me the charge for kids is $10 - $15.00. So, I took my older son up there while my younger son and I stayed in the car. It took the the dude forever to do a shape up. After 45 minutes was up, my son came out saying he needed $5.00 more after paying $15.00. The barber told him using the sponge cost $5.00. I walked in there to give him the money and also inform him that my son didn't for you to use the sponge when we have one at home. You volunteered something and decided to charge for it. On top of giving me a price before I called. He tried giving me the $5 back, but I told him no since he needed it for the sponge. No wonder the review score so low. First & Last time going there.
I have mixed kids and one of them has straight white boy hair and the barber Philly had just no clue what to do with it. He should have just said something. I had to fix it as much as possible at home. A true barber knows how to use scissors all he did was use clippers. He didn't even style his hair. I was disappointed and definitely not going back.
