Quick Facts About Ocean Nails

Strengths:
1. Quality of dip manicures: According to one customer, Ocean Nails is their go-to spot for dip manicures and the nails have held up nicely over time. This suggests that the salon provides high-quality manicure services.
2. Friendly and on-time: The same customer mentions that the staff at Ocean Nails is always very friendly and on time for appointments. This shows that the salon values good customer service and punctuality.
3. High standards for quality: The first customer also mentions that Ocean Nails has high standards for quality. This indicates that the salon takes pride in the work they do and strives to provide excellent service to their customers.
4. Affordable prices: Another customer mentions that the prices at Ocean Nails are great and that they are very flexible, taking customers upon walk-in. This suggests that the salon offers affordable services and is convenient for customers who don't have an appointment.
Weaknesses:
1. Aggressive removal of acrylics: One customer had a negative experience where the nail tech aggressively tore off their acrylics using scissors and a spatula instead of soaking and using a nail drill. This resulted in sore, scratched up nails. This indicates a lack of proper technique and care during the removal process.
2. Sloppy and rushed work: One customer mentions that since their regular nail tech left, the employees at Ocean Nails have been unfriendly and do a terrible job. They describe the work as sloppy, rushed, and aggressive, resulting in sore and bruised nails. This suggests a lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
3. Unfriendly owner and staff: Another customer mentions that since the change in ownership, the new owners and staff at Ocean Nails are rough and unfriendly. They mention being burned with the drill multiple times and the owner rushing the service without apologizing. This indicates a lack of professionalism and customer care from the owner and staff.
4. Filthy salon and inconsistent pricing: A customer mentions that the salon is filthy and not cleaned in between each client. They also mention that the staff and owner are rude. This suggests a lack of cleanliness and professionalism in maintaining the salon. The same customer also mentions that the prices are not consistent and that they were overcharged and asked for more money in cash. This indicates a lack of transparency and fairness in pricing.
It is clear that Ocean Nails has several strengths, such as the quality of their dip manicures, friendly and on-time service, and affordability. However, the salon also has some significant weaknesses, including aggressive and sloppy work, unfriendly staff and owner, lack of cleanliness, and inconsistent pricing. These weaknesses can have a negative impact on the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon.

Best TL Reviews

Ocean nails is my go-to spot for dip manicures! I've gone on a couple occasions, and the nails have held up nicely over time. They are always very friendly, on time for appointments, and have high standards for quality. 10/10 highly recommend.
I went to this nail salon to get my acrylics removed. Instead of soaking and using a nail drill to gently remove the acrylics, the nail tech took a pair of scissors and a spatula and started aggressively tearing the acrylics straight off my nails. The process was very uncomfortable. Despite my obvious discomfort and wincing from the pain, this went on for five nails before they finally started soaking and removing the rest of my acrylics the proper way. The nails where the acrylics was torn straight off are now very obviously scratched up, thinned and sore. I was charged 15 dollars for this “service”. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I have been to ocean nails for several years for gel manicure and acrylic sets and always used to see the same lady who always did a great job and was so nice but she no longer works there. Since she quit every single time i go I am disappointed. The employees are not friendly at all, and they do a terrible job. The work is sloppy, rushed and aggressive. Every time someone burns my nail with the drill and my nails are always left so sore and bruised feeling by the end of the day because of how aggressive they were. I have been going here out of the convince of it being right by my home but after today and how aggressive one of the females were and the sloppy job she did (she was the only one left that I had not gotten yet) I will not be returning.
Since I lost my gal, Taylor, I have tried to find a new person in this salon. The new owners are really rough and unfriendly. Taylor was the best! She was friendly, engaging, and really professional. Not once did I ever cringe because of the drill burning my finger. I will most definitely not be returning to this place anymore. I recently had to have an acrylic fill. The owner, I think her name is Victoria, was unfriendly, rushing the service as she had somewhere to go. She burnt me a couple of times with the drill and didn't say sorry. I used a shade I typically have used. She applied (2) coats. When it was done, I could have used another coat because you could see through to the nail bed. How could a professional be satisfied with her own work and let me walk out like that? I should have insisted on another coat, but she made me feel like I was taking up her time as she was hurrying up to get me done. I also had a pedicure done by a very shy lady who doesn't speak English at all. I looked up, and the lady who did my nails went to grab her lunch and ate by the window. No wonder she was in a hurry! Done with this place!!!

The worst nail experience in my life. Completely did something else than what I asked for after showering a photo and was rude when I yelped in pain from the burn of the nail drill. Charged an extra $15 that I had to ask what it was for and it was for nail shape. Prices aren't consistent. The location is filthy and not cleaned in between each client. Staff and owner are unbelievably rude. When asked to fix the mistake I was yelled at and cursed out and charged another $10 to have the nails be what I originally asked. I will never be returning and advising my colleagues not to do so as well.
I love this place and have been regularly coming here for a few years now! The staff are super nice and have become like a second family there. They fill-in services are great, and their Pearl deluxe pedicure is so relaxing. The prices are great too! They’re very flexible and take customers upon walk-in, which is super convenient.
I previously gave them a 5-star rating that was well-deserved under the previous management. I stopped going there when they changed ownership after a bad experience (did a lousy job), and hearing similar sentiments from friends in the area. Yesterday I was in a bind and couldn't get an appointment anywhere else, so I went there. Saturday afternoon and the salon is empty- I should have suspected lol. I was the only customer there the entire time, no one walked in. I called in the morning 3 other salons in the area were all fully booked for the day, but now it totally makes sense to me why they're empty... Anyway the gentleman that was doing my nails took the previous polish off, and then I asked to fix two broken nails (which I indicated when booking the apt). They had dipping powder on which was coming off. He started raising his voice "it's not my job" and refused to remove the previous gel to put new one on. I was pretty shocked at this unprovoked aggression and asked why. He didn't specify, said "it's not my job" and asked me to leave (???). I'm a calm person and this never happened to me in my 15 years or so in nail salons, it's usually a pleasant experience. He said all he can do is glue it back on (gross), and that if I wanted them fixed I should leave (took his gloves off to signal he's done with me). The other lady stepped over bc he was getting really worked up, they spoke in their language and he proceeded to fix my nails with acrylic. Did a nice job actually but not worth being yelled at like a child who misbehaved lol. At that point the other lady took over who was relatively pleasant and put polish on (did a nice job, nothing out of what's expected but not bad). They also over charged me, and then asked for more money in cash, I paid just to get outta there. If I could, I would have given zero stars. Maybe that's not a reflection of other technicians there but they're black listed in my books.
Critical Lightning Fast Speeds. Friendly, Adequately Equipped, no fuss/ no muss. Walk-in→Sit Down↓ & Get down to the business at hand.
Her Skill-Set was Legit & None-The-Lacking! (Irregardless of time limitations/constraints.)
I was a Friday Afternoon Walk-in, No Appt booked. Goal was simply to get a Mani-Pedi. *Note: I had a very important meeting scheduled I HAD TO MAKE, which was EXACTLY 1-Hr from the time I walked into #OceanNails. So, HATs-ØFF to that lovely middle-aged Lady who hustled to get me in at the last second prior to my Friday Afternoon professional engagement!
That being said, I tremendously appreciated the salon's quiet & calming establishment. Service was satisfactory. Albeit, IF the pricing was contingent on a sliding scale, with specific prices varying based on practicality of each individual service or procedure offered, overall prices ranged, tipping the scales on being unaffordable for my budget.
Irregardless of my naivety & general lack of prior experiences that I otherwise may've compared OCEAN NAILS to, or pass judgement on. I DON'T have ANYTHING NEGATIVE to express or complain about my overall experience in this review. It is, simply put, my humble opinion & an honest assessment of their Business to Customer Etiquette, & Professionalism. The ONLY personal CRITICISM I shall like to respectfully offer… [& of course, it's YOUR prerogative to ignore my opinion as 'frivolous' per say, or take it to heart.] OR_You may take my suggestion under advisement & choose to implement a trial-run on a slow shift, as to reassess your staff's methods of time-mgmt, monitor your customer satisfactions, & evaluate the manner in your team strives to achieve daily goals, & complete tasks. Be vigilant when observing where/what/how to utilize slight adjustments to re-prioritize for the benefit of all. Much like a litmus-test, you inevitably are likely to discover a new friendlier, fresher, improved formula for productivity, profoundly less challenging on "you"→⟨the staff, owners, employees⟩ to maintain 'OCEAN NAILS' as an exceptionally classy level of beauty services that your regulars & loyal clientele have come to expect with the experience you provide them with. Beneficial to your bottom line & to the betterment of your team; recurring evaluations of any store operational functionality produces positive growth & creative alternatives to change & stay current with the times. Updating your store strategies to new higher standards & quality of service creates success for yourselves. Obtaining, implementing, improving upon more efficient methods of rendering your services fully (irregardless of time & budgets) by Negotiating more effective practices to better utilize resources, tools, & COLLEAGUES. A factor I'd bring to your attention is to better your business relations w/ future clients who choose your establishment b/c so many others offer your same services. [Due to my schedule time constraints] I confess my error when making my impulsive decision to walk-in w/no appt booked. I was mildly disheartened that, for the total amount I paid (including the cash-tip), the results of my Mani-Pedi was underwhelming. Politely, it lacked a specific detail I would've assumed was universally included as part of the service.
I'd be remised if I didn't make mention that of all the fabulous effort her services made on such a limited timeframe. Still, the end-product wasn't quite the satisfying icing on my cake that I had hoped for. Positive to note that her finished product reflected a regal quality, & candidly illustrated her skill/craft & ability to maintain hyper-focused on the task at hand. The results of her wonderfully exceptional WorkWOMANship!
THEN, my Mani-Pedi service ended. [NO Extensions, Tips, or Full-Set requested] Yet, to top-off my newly trimmed & shaped nails, I wasn't offered the option to add a Clear-Polish/Top-Coat/Quickset-Hardener, let alone a SHELLAC Shade‽ Any one of which I naively assumed was obviously included in the price of the manicure-pedicure‽ I was BEFUDDLED, but grateful.
