Quick Facts About Oishi Japanese Cuisine
Oishi Japanese Cuisine has received a mix of positive and negative reviews, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses. In terms of strengths, customers appreciate the affordability of the food, especially for hibachi meals and sushi. The portion sizes are also praised as being generous, providing good value for money. The freshness of the rolls and the flavors of the food are also highlighted as positive aspects. The staff is described as friendly and pleasant, creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. Additionally, the restaurant offers tasty starters for dine-in customers.
Another strength mentioned is the lunch hibachi bowl, which is described as excellent. This suggests that they excel in preparing hibachi dishes during lunchtime, which could be a selling point for customers looking for a quick and satisfying meal.
However, the weaknesses of Oishi Japanese Cuisine are also evident from the comments. One recurring issue is the inconsistency in order accuracy and long waiting times. Multiple customers have reported receiving incorrect orders, which suggests a potential lack of attention to detail or communication issues in the kitchen. Additionally, one customer mentioned waiting for three hours to receive their meal, which is an extremely long wait time and could be a major inconvenience for time-conscious diners.
Another weakness mentioned is the confusion regarding their operating hours. Some customers have reported that they drove to the restaurant to find it closed, despite the sign and website indicating otherwise. This lack of consistency in their hours of operation can be frustrating for customers who rely on accurate information when planning their visit. This inconsistency could be due to poor communication between the restaurant management and staff or outdated information on their online platforms.
The physical appearance of the restaurant is also highlighted as a weak point. The lack of decoration and the use of paper menus may give the impression of a lower quality establishment. This could potentially deter customers seeking a more upscale dining experience, even though the food itself is praised as delicious.
Another concern mentioned by one customer is the understaffing issue, resulting in longer wait times during peak ordering times. This can be frustrating for customers who expect prompt service and may lead to negative experiences or decrease the likelihood of repeat visits.
In conclusion, Oishi Japanese Cuisine has several strengths, such as affordable prices, generous portion sizes, fresh flavors, and friendly staff. However, the restaurant struggles with order accuracy, long wait times, inconsistency in operating hours, and a lack of aesthetic appeal. By addressing these weaknesses, Oishi Japanese Cuisine may be able to provide a more consistent and enjoyable dining experience for its customers.
Best TL Reviews
Pretty sure this is Chinese food disguised as Japanese food, however I will say it's all pretty good and fairly cheap. They've gotten my order wrong multiple times now and have taken 3 hours before to get my meal ready. All in all, it's a nice place to have locally on this end of Simsbury. The plaza it's in is usually cursed with failing businesses, but I really hope this one survives that curse.
Great hibachi meals and sushi. Take out only since start of pandemic. Very reasonable prices and good size portions. Entrees include salad and crab Rangoon.
Oishi is amazing! Ordered for takeout and the food is fantastic. Rolls are big and tasted very fresh. Prices are also great. The woman who I spoke with and picked up my order from was very sweet. Highly recommend!!!!!!
The food is priced very well and tastes great! Nice neat and casual space. Staff is friendly too. They also serve some tasty starters when you dine in.
The ONLY thing that bothers me about this place is half the time I drive up, they're closed even though their sign and website say they should be open.
Im sure the sushi is good but when I went in today (11/3) they said were take out only. Funny cause google says your open for dine in and take out. When its too good to be true it usually is. I hate putting up bad reviews but if I don’t then nothing changes, I will take my review down when they update their google page and mark themselves as take out only
Fresh, fast & delicious food, pleasant people
The lunch hibachi bowl is excellent!
This place omg this place. Best sushi and hibachi in town at the absolute best (or lowest) price. Be warned, they are very understaffed and super busy so during peak ordering time you could wait up to 2+ Hours to get your food (still worth the wait).
So upon entering this place, I wasn’t sure how good it was going to be. It certainly doesn’t boast “5-Star restaurant” with its paper menus, lack of decoration, and middle of nowhere location. BUT they always tell you not to judge a book by its cover and this rings true with Oishi. This was some of the best sushi I’ve had. EVER. The fish tasted fresh, the sauces were delectable and the combinations in the roles were spot on. Also, I don’t know if they happened to think there was a celebrity in our party, they were using us as taste-testers, or they just had a lot of leftover food at the end of the night, but they randomly brought us about 5 or 6 free appetizers. This place is BANGIN.
