Quick Facts About Oriental Market
The Oriental Market Place has several strengths that make it a desirable shopping destination for authentic Oriental cuisine and foreign food items. One of its strengths is its variety and wide assortment of goods. Customers appreciate the fact that they can find many different foods from foreign countries, particularly those in Asia and the Pacific Islands. This includes items like lumpia wrappers, frozen kalamansi, and various dry, frozen, and refrigerated foods. Additionally, the market offers a range of snack foods, making it a one-stop-shop for those looking for authentic Oriental snacks.
Another strength of the Oriental Market Place is its convenience and good customer service. Customers commend the store for its convenient location in a small town area, allowing them to access authentic Oriental products without having to travel far. The good customer service provided by the store staff is also appreciated by customers, as evidenced by the positive comment about the store owner, Yvette, who is described as knowledgeable and helpful in assisting customers in finding what they need.
The market's pricing is another strength that customers appreciate. Several comments mention the excellent prices offered on certain items compared to other grocery stores in the area. This includes larger quantities at lower prices, such as the cheaper tahini compared to the commissary. The affordability of the market's seafood options is also highlighted, with customers praising the quality and variety of seafood available at affordable pricing.
The Oriental Market Place also receives praise for its selection of fresh produce. Customers mention the high quality and variety of produce available, with one comment specifically mentioning the market's excellent sweet potatoes. The market's selection of sauces, candy, spices, and noodles is also appreciated by customers, who find that they can find unique and hard-to-find items in the store that are not typically available at larger supermarkets like Walmart.
Despite its strengths, the market does have some weaknesses that customers point out. One recurring issue mentioned is the store's small and cramped layout. Customers feel that the aisles are too narrow, and even a single person stopping to look at something can block the entire aisle, causing inconvenience for other shoppers. It is suggested that the store could benefit from a bit more room between aisles to allow for easier navigation.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the cashier's behavior. The customer reports an incident where the cashier was short and sighed loudly when there was a noise in the store. While this might be an isolated incident, it is important for the store to ensure that all staff consistently provide friendly and professional customer service.
In conclusion, the Oriental Market Place has several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers seeking authentic Oriental cuisine and foreign food items. Its variety of goods, convenience, good customer service, and affordable prices are highly appreciated by customers. However, the store's cramped layout and occasional lapses in customer service are mentioned as areas for improvement. Overall, the Oriental Market Place serves as a valuable resource for those seeking a diverse range of Oriental and foreign food products in their local area.

Decent store. Doesn't have too big of a noodle selection though, however their snack aisle is very big. It is VERY cramped. Just one person stopping to look at something blocks the whole aisle and you either have to wait until they're done and move or you go around another aisle. The pots and pans are actually a very good price.
The cashier was a little short with us and it sounded like someone bumped something (not in our party) and she sighs really loudly and says "are you SERIOUS?!" as she rushed over to see what made the noise. If the store was not so small, and aisles literally are just enough for a cart, people may not bump things with their cart. I would suggest just a but more room between aisles.
I am so grateful for being able to get authentic oriental cuisine in our small town area.
The prices are excellent. Variety is outstanding! You cannot go wrong with this store.
They have many different foods found in foreign countries, particularly out those in Asia & Pacific Islands. Found lumping wrappers, frozen kalamansi, & many other items I've been missing from my time overseas. Dry foods, frozen, & refrigerated foods. Lots of snack foods too!
Oriental Market is convenient, good customer service and they have a wide assortment of goods
Good prices on some of their items and some of those items sell in larger quantities compared to other grocery stores in the area. A wide variety of items as well. The tahini is over a dollar cheaper here than at the commissary, so I prefer to buy some items here than at the commissary.
This little gem has really surprised me, I used to go all the way to St Louis for some of these items but can now keep it local. Excellent selection, you can find so many amazing foods here that you won't find at Walmart!! They have the best sweet potatoes and fresh produce, ramen galore, sauces, candy, snacks, miso, mochi, noodles, spices, rice... Seriously, just go see them.
I personally love there seafood options. From green mussels to octopus; from wild Alaskan salmon to clams and blue crab. Only the best at affordable pricing. Oh and yes they do accept EBT.
This market has everything and the girl who runs the place knows her stuff! She sweet and knows every inch of that store. Thanks Yvette for helping us find what we needed while traveling!
