Pauline African Hair Braiding has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. It is important to consider these aspects when evaluating the overall quality of the establishment.
One of the strengths of Pauline African Hair Braiding, as mentioned in the comments, is the skill and expertise of the braiders. Customers have complimented the quality of the braids and the overall result of their hairstyles. This suggests that the staff members are experienced and proficient in their work.
Another strength of the salon is that Pauline is known for running an honest operation and not overcharging for her services. This is a positive aspect as it shows integrity and fairness in pricing. Customers appreciate not being taken advantage of and recommend Pauline African Hair Braiding for those looking for reasonable prices.
Additionally, the shop offers a range of hair products and jewelry for customers to purchase, according to one comment. This not only adds convenience to the overall experience but also provides more options for customers to explore and enhance their hair care routines.
However, despite the strengths mentioned above, there are also several weaknesses that need to be considered. One significant weakness is the poor customer service and rude behavior reported by multiple customers. It is noted that the atmosphere in the salon is described as horrible, and the employees are characterized as extremely rude. This kind of behavior can create a negative environment for customers and deter them from returning.
Another weakness is the inconsistency in pricing and the potential for dishonest business practices. One comment mentions being charged much more than the quoted price, suggesting that Pauline may not be transparent with her customers. This can lead to frustrations and a feeling of being deceived.
Quality control is another weakness mentioned in the comments. Customers have raised concerns over the quality of hair extensions used in their hairstyles. There are reports of itchy hair and damage to clothing, which suggests that the salon may not prioritize using high-quality products.
A significant weakness highlighted in the comments is the time it takes to complete hairstyles. Some customers express dissatisfaction with the lengthy braiding process, which can take several hours. This can be inconvenient for customers who have other commitments or limited time available. Additionally, one customer reports that the owner, Pauline, braids hair at a slow pace, resulting in an extended and uncomfortable experience for the customer.
Lastly, there are reports of poor technique and damage to the hair. Multiple customers mention issues with their hair, such as discomfort, tightness, and even hair loss. This suggests a lack of expertise and care in the braiding technique used, possibly leading to damage and unfavorable results.
In conclusion, while Pauline African Hair Braiding has strengths such as skilled braiders and reasonable pricing, it also has significant weaknesses in terms of customer service, consistency in pricing, quality control, and technique. These weaknesses may impact the overall reputation and customer satisfaction of the establishment.

Good work but the atmosphere is horrible and the people are extremely rude
Pauline is very deceptive; she quoted me one price and when I got to the shop she charged me way over what was quoted. Hair extensions was not of quality; itchy snd ruined my clothing while on vacation. She basically lied and said there was going to be two people doing my hair; only one person - what normally takes 2 hours to do; took her 5 hours to braid and hair was extremely too tight.
Had to basically dump my hair in tea tree oil to alleviate the itching from the bad quality of the hair product. She also claimed it would be easy to remove the two strand braids. Not true, tried one and it’s going to take me days to take this junk out (which needs to be removed immediately). It’s been only two weeks and it’s still itching. Pauline is running a deceptive business; needs to be shut down, period.
Personally, I wouldn’t recommend this business. Had to rate 1-5; however this business don’t deserve any ratings.
I got my hair braided @ this establishment twice. The first time I got long Senegalese twists which took 11 hours to complete. However they looked AMAZING.. The braider I had was very nice and took her time.. The owner Pauline is the problem, she is rude and has a disgusting disposition. She did my hair the second time and it looked "basic" nothing worth $240.00. She sings gospel hymns loudly while your in the chair, if you question anything she does get ready for the bull****.
I would not recommend going here it's overpriced and they don't treat their customers well @ all. ????????????????????????
Pauline and her staff are very nice and skilled hair braiders. Pauline runs a honest operation and doesn't over charge for her services. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get their hair braided.
They started my hair at 5:30 and I was leaving by 10:30pm. My daughter went the next day took a little longer but they did a great job on both of our hair. We both have gotten a lot of compliments. They are polite. I think they should come down on their prices. I would suggest they hire more braiders because they over book appointments.
SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. Went in today for an 8am appt for box braids. The owner was an hour late getting to the shop to do my hair on top that she didnt start on my hair until 10am. She gave me a price of $250 for medium box braids waist length. I paid before services because she stated and had a sign thats how they do business now,so i was like ok no big deal lets get started. As she was braiding i noticed she had not braided them down to my waist so I said something and she kept reassuring me they would be right just let her finish. The whole time her and the other ladies talked the ENTIRE time in their language, the thing that really set me off was the fact she kept stoping to answer and talk on her phone. She parted my hair with a hair clamp not a comb which hurt so bad. When she finished my hair my braids were literally in the middle of my back (NOT WHAT I ASKED OR PAID FOR) i told her i was unhappy and how I reminded her in the beginning like 3 times but she chuckled, and i was so thrown off i said I didn't see anything funny. She never offered to fix my hair or refund some of my money. I was so upset because i was there from 9am-8pm for some box braids ,she braids so slow(11hours) Go to fifi african braiding she is a good fast braider and treats her clients well. Pauline is just money hungry and will put what she wants in your head instead of what you paid/asked for. If i could give a 0 rating star i would.
If you want to keep your hair, DO NOT get your hair braided here. I literally have no edges after taking down my individual braids, which I was told is a protective style. PLEASE!!! While I had 3 ladies braiding my hair and got my out in like 4-5 hours, apparently they are not properly skilled in the technique of installing braids, otherwise my hair would not have fallen out like this. I haven’t even gotten to take down the rest of my hair yet. I’m horrified at the thought. I repeat again, if you want to keep your hair, DO NOT get your hair braided here, not even under desperate circumstances.
I have been to Pauline African Braiding many of times. Reasonable pricing. I absolutely love coming here great place to also shop for hair products and jewelry. Fast with braiding the hair. The ladies take there time to make sure the braids are just the way you want them.... Love love love this place!!!!!
