Naturals beware. I only use heat once a year, in January I went to Ramonas to have my hair straightened. Besides mentioning that I made an appointment for 1pm and not getting in a chair until 3pm, My hair is completely heat damaged. It’s been months and I still have literal straight pieces of hair that I now have to cut off. The first photo is my hair before and the others are of after. My hair smelled burnt for days after so if you care about your curls, Natural beware.
I'm not happy that on the date of the appointment, their phone was inoperable, but Google Maps did lead me there once I searched the salon name.
We came in and they asked who we were scheduled with but we're not regulars so we weren't sure but they figured it out from the scheduling. They offered frozen honey drippers with popular Hispanic flavors for sale, which was a really nice treat while we waited for the hairdresser to finish up. Lisandra then consulted with my grandmother to make sure she knew what was desired. She walked my grandmother through options and gave a realistic impression of what they would look like. Lisandra also explained the processes/consequences of bleaching/dyeing. In the end, my grandmother opted for an even haircut and lighter color all around to hide grey hair at the roots and even out dark hair that grew toward the nape. I believe she left pretty happy, even though she wanted silver or a short cut to grow out the rest of her grey hair (too short for her liking). Silver bleaching process would have severely damaged the rest of her hair and I'm glad the hairdresser gave my grandmother the facts. I was given a realistic timeframe to return to pick up my grandmother and she was done in less time.
These stylist are not good. All they know how to do is dye, fry and dry out your hair. Unless you dont mind having brittle ends than this salon might be up your alley. Eventually your hair will began to shed and break off. I will not be returning here, besides the stylist are rude and have poor customer service.
I hate this place ! It is horrible they will fry your natural curls. I went for a blow out and it’s now about 8 months later and my hair is still straight. I hate that they ruined my curls injust wanted a straight style for a few days and now I have to cut all my hair off again. I hate this place and would not recommend AT ALL for anyone who cares about there hair! And don’t even think about coming here if you have natural curls they will ruin it ! Not to mention my appointment was at 3pm I didn’t get seated into a chair until 6pm. Rose told me to leave and come back because the appointment before me was running late and she wanted to do her before me. Like what kind ghetto establishment is this??
This place is not good for natural curly hair. I went there for a regular blow out and it looked nice but when it was time to wash my curl did not come back at all. It was as if she put chemicals in my hair… my curls haven’t came back and it’s been about 3 months. I’ll have to cut my hair off again due to how damaged it is because of this salon. Do NOT COME HERE THEY WILL FRY YOUR HAIR!
I love Ramona’s! I have been coming on and off for years. If you don’t have an appointment you will wait, but the staff is always nice. My grandmother has even started going on a regular basis and they treat her with such care. Falco does not play and will press your even the baby hair and edges! Rose slays with the color, but no matter who does your hair you’ll love it! My hair is completely natural, so I don’t press it often, but have never had an issue with my curl pattern returning. Even times when I go every week after an extended period of not applying heat my curls recover.
I went to Ramona's hair salon today and Rossy did my natural hair. She did a great job. My last relaxer was in 2013. It is now almost 8 years later and it looks as though I relaxed it but I sure didn't. I love it. Thanks Rossy your the best.???? price was reasonable. The atmosphere was nice a bunch of ladies taking care of ladies.
