Crochet on my kid by Chantal, was too tight and she put some guy in front of us and made us wait an hour and a half. We were walk ins, she happened to be free & available. She literally sat my baby down and told her to get back up to service some Latin dude who busted in off the bus wanting some straight backs. She said she’d be quick but she couldn’t with all that parting. Greed? Rude? He or her didn’t care that they made her cry. The crochet was heavy, bad and a painful install. She was made fun of, they said they could see her cornrows thru the braids in the back and middle where Chantal was having trouble. She said my daughters hair was rather long which made the crochet humpy. A $185 excuse. I never went back & never ???????? will. I gave her a tip so I wouldn’t get any bad juju with all that shade, sass and native tongue if they don’t like you correcting them.
My appointment was for 9a.m. The stylist did not start on my hair until 11:30. My hair looked fine but that was unacceptable. In my opinion, find another shop who values your time. And her prices are high.
Great atmosphere. Chantel is always on time and is an excellent braider. She’s always gentle with my hair which is something I greatly appreciate. My hair is very fine and breaks easily and so far, she’s the only person I’ve been to that knows how to treat my hair. My hair has actually been growing a lot since I’ve been going to her.
I have been going to Shantel for years and I have to say she and her staff of braiders are very professional, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. Here are the pictures of my last hairdo
Just walked out of there 2 hours ago with this hair do. She charged 250.00 for. I called back and told her this wasn't worth 50 dollars and I need a redo. She then said this garbage is what I asked for. I should have never strayed away from braids and beauty where Salene is the owner. I just didn't have enough time before I go out of town, and I needed my hair done. If a customer tell you they are not happy with a style. There should be no argument. ESPECIALLY if they hand you 250.00. We work to hard for our money. And don't have money to throw away. PLEASE THE CUSTOMER ALWAYS. I have always learned; the customer is always right. Why ? Because you want them to return. After much argument and hard times. I was told to wait on a call tomorrow afternoon. So I can come back to the salon to get my style corrected. Stay tuned for the update. When they are done I will be completing another review with a new photo of the end results. HERE IS MY UPDATE!!!!! I went back on THURSDAY. ALL WHILE MY HAIR WAS GETTING BRAIDED THEY TALKED SMACK IN THEIR NATIVE TONGUE!!! Now Today is Sunday. SUNDAY MORNING MY HAIR IS COMING DOWN. ON IT'S OWN! MIND YOU. 4 DAYS AFTER IT IS IN RAVELING. 250.00! SCAM ARTIST OUT FOR A QUICK BUCK. I'M GOING BACK AS SOON AS I GET BACK IN TOWN MONDAY. I AM GOING BACK 250 TIMES UNTIL THEY Learn how to braid.
I love this shop. I moved to Chicago 6 years ago and I didn’t have references for stylists. I stumbled into Shine Hair braiding and 6 years later I’m still a customer. All of their stylist are professional and educated in hair care. They are dependable and have handled everything for my family from the Prom to braiding my youngest hair. Professional, friendly, caring and reliable service. They will spend time to consult with you on the style you desire and make sure you’re satisfied on every visit!
My stylist is Shade’ and her attention to detail keeps my look amazing EVERYTIME!
Very nice experience and clean environment . I really do enjoy everything that the services they have to offer from all the ladies. Their hairstyles are very neat and pretty. When I call they always available to take me in . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have received services from this shop before. The Management/ owner is very unprofessional. I was lied to about the stylist I scheduled an appointment with. Owner first stated my stylist was running late. Then she asked if someone else can start to save time until she gets there. Then she said my stylist was not answering her phone. So I ended up with someone I did not schedule an appointment with, but she began braiding, so I did not leave and totally should have. It it’s extremely disappointing And shameful the owner did this with no remorse or concern. They are not prompt or courteous to their customers.
