Quick Facts About Simon's Fish & Chips
Simon's Fish & Chips has received a mix of positive and negative feedback from customers. Let's analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one review states that Simon's Fish & Chips is "quite simply the best Fish & Chips we have ever had." This suggests that the quality of the food is exceptional and stands out compared to other places. Another customer mentions that the food was made to order, ensuring freshness, and that the staff were friendly. This highlights the attentiveness of the staff and their commitment to providing a positive dining experience. Additionally, one reviewer appreciates the vegan sausages offered by the restaurant, commending their quality.
On the other hand, several weaknesses are highlighted in the comments. A customer expresses disappointment with their large Cod order, noting that it tasted watery, lacked flavor, and had a poor batter. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the preparation of dishes or issues with the quality of ingredients. Another reviewer mentions that the chips were hard and unappetizing. This raises concerns about the cooking technique or the quality of the potatoes used.
Another weakness highlighted is the unfriendly and unhelpful behavior of some staff members. One customer mentions that the man serving them was friendly, but others came across as "off." This inconsistency in customer service suggests a lack of training or a failure to prioritize providing a welcoming environment for customers. In another comment, a customer specifically mentions that the woman at the till was rude and complained about certain payment methods, which can negatively impact the overall dining experience.
Price is another concern raised by a reviewer who found the fish and chips to be on the pricey side. Although they mention that the portions were good, this might indicate that customers feel they are not receiving enough value for their money.
In terms of delivery, one customer praises the excellent service they received when ordering through Just Eat, suggesting that this may be a good option for those who prefer minimal interaction with the restaurant's employees.
Comparatively, one reviewer mentions that while the fish was decent, the chips were unremarkable. They also experienced unfriendly staff and believed that there are better options available in the area. This indicates that Simon's Fish & Chips may face stiff competition from other fish and chip shops in the vicinity.
In conclusion, Simon's Fish & Chips has strengths in terms of the quality of their food, with some customers deeming it the best they have ever had. The made-to-order approach and friendly staff are also positive aspects. However, there are clear weaknesses in terms of inconsistencies in taste and the unfriendly behavior of some staff members. The hard and unappetizing chips, along with the higher prices, are additional areas for improvement. Overall, Simon's Fish & Chips needs to focus on ensuring consistent food quality, improving customer service, and perhaps reevaluating their pricing strategy to enhance the overall dining experience and remain competitive.

I wrote a good review last time that was over a year ago. This time I would not recommend. I ordered a large Cod and to me it didn't even taste like cod it was so taste less and watery and the batter was a horrible cheap oil taste. The chips were hard and horrible. I think there cutting cost by using cheaper oil and fish was not cod.The delivery with just eat was great I wish I sent the food back as I couldn't eat it disgusting.I won't be ordering food from them ever again.
Quite simply the best Fish & Chips we have ever had. Cooked completely fresh after our order. Amazing. We will be back !!
came across this on holiday near where we were staying - unlike review above we had excellent food- made fresh when we went in- haddock and chips and fish cakes and chips- portion size huge and amongst the best from a fish and chip shop that i’ve ever had- the staff serving where helpful and cheerful- i don’t normally leave very positive reviews but felt it was right to spend the time doing it- hope the above negative report was just an unlucky one
Came by this whilst on holiday. Lovely food and great selection being vegetarian. The man who was serving us was very friendly, but the others didn't speak much and came across a bit "off".
First time trying this place. Made to order, so everything this is fresh. The staff are really friendly and the food was ace.
Legends for doing vegan sausages. The ones you did for us were truly excellent. And, whilst I've definitely never heard of 'Irish' curry sauce, it was absolutely delicious. So many thanks and please keep doing those sausages!!
Great fish and chips 7/10. Well seasoned and flavourful. But service was awful. The women at the till is rude and complains about methods of payment like apple pay. I would come again. But I would order via just eat as I don't want to interact with the employees.
Decent fish and unremarkable chips. Good portions but still on the pricey side. The real downervwas the staff who were quite unfriendly and not very helpful. Will not revisit as there are plenty of much better and nicer fishies in and around Bournemouth
