Quick Facts About Starbucks
Starbucks is a well-known and popular coffee chain, with numerous strengths and weaknesses apparent in the comments provided. Understanding these strengths and weaknesses can help improve the overall experience for customers and address any issues that may be hindering their satisfaction.
One of the strengths mentioned in the comments is the beautiful new building that houses the Starbucks location. This suggests that the physical aesthetics of the store are visually appealing to customers. However, this strength is overshadowed by several weaknesses highlighted in the comments.
One common issue mentioned by multiple customers is the poor and rude service they received from the staff. Customers reported dismissive behavior, disregard for their preferences, and an overall lack of acknowledgment. This significantly impacts the customer experience and can deter customers from returning to the store. Customer service is a vital aspect of any business, and Starbucks should prioritize improving the overall attitude and behavior of their staff to address this weakness.
Another weakness mentioned is the inconsistency in receiving orders placed through the mobile app. Several customers claimed that their orders were not received by the store, which could lead to frustration and inconvenience. This could be due to technical issues with the app or a lack of communication between the app and the store. To rectify this weakness, Starbucks should address any technical issues with the app and ensure that the store staff are trained to handle mobile orders efficiently.
The comments also highlight issues with cleanliness and environmental impact. Customers mentioned that tables were not being cleared, the store was dirty, and disposable cups were used for drinks that were consumed in-store, despite the availability of clean crockery. These weaknesses indicate a lack of attention to cleanliness and sustainability practices. Starbucks should focus on implementing effective cleaning procedures, training staff to prioritize cleanliness, and promoting the use of reusable cups for dine-in customers to reduce unnecessary waste.
Another complaint raised by customers was the limited opening hours of the store. The store closed at 4 pm, making it inconvenient for those who wanted to visit before or after work. Adjusting the store's operating hours to accommodate customers' schedules would help address this weakness and improve customer satisfaction.
However, amidst these weaknesses, one customer shared a positive experience they had with a staff member named Tyler. This staff member's friendly and proactive approach significantly improved the customer's perception of the store. This highlights the importance of hiring and training competent and customer-oriented staff. Implementing training programs that emphasize excellent customer service can help address the issue of poor service mentioned in other comments.
In summary, while Starbucks has strengths such as a beautiful new building and a favorable coffee selection, it also possesses several weaknesses that need to be addressed. These weaknesses include poor and rude service, inconsistency with mobile orders, cleanliness issues, limited opening hours, and a lack of attention to customer needs. By focusing on improving these areas, Starbucks can provide a better overall experience for its customers and regain their loyalty.

Extremely poor and rude service. We asked for one drink without whipped cream but they put whipped cream on both. We were then going to sit down at around 3.45pm when they were closing at 4 but were rudely told by Ellie that the whole shop had been cleaned and we were not allowed to sit down. When I asked where I could sit with 2 kids Ellie just looked at me blankly but Alex kindly said we could sit outside. We did not as we felt unwanted bearing in mind there were other customers still allowed to sit inside starbucks. We will not be returning. Disappointing to say the least
A beautiful new building with your average Starbucks options. However, the staff at this specific site totally ruin the experience. The first time I came was during summer and a group of young ladies were working. They made no effort to acknowledge me, and when placing my order were dismissive. Ultimately this ruined the experience and I now avoid going here despite it being my local.
Every time I’ve ordered on the app they tell me they have never received it
They close to early on some days and when you ask for a coffee in a proper cup to sit in they still make your drink in a take away cup. My coffee always tastes better at the Starbucks at the village gym in Bracknell when made by Vincent I think he’s name is. The Wokingham branch staff also look a bit lost
Unnecessary ENVIRONMENTAL impact!
(1) Doors so large and centrally located it’s freezing to sit in during winter. Why not add another set of doors (inside or outside) to create an ‘air lock’?
(2) Also only using disposable cups for drinking in when clean crockery clearly visible - seemed lazy as it was busy and about an hour to closing!
No staff clearing tables, unclean, poor quality coffee - expect MUCH MUCH better for over £4.50 a drink!
For the past year this store has struggled with staff. The opening times (9-4) have been really inconvenient for people on their way to work or on their way home.
However this week I went in and was greeted my Tyler. I've never met him before but he's completely turned the place around. He greeted me from across the room, he asked me if I wanted to try my brownie heated up as it is a "game changer" on a cold day. He was right. I've never been offered a warm cake before. He also asked if I would try a different coffee bean which he recommended, at no extra cost to me so not an upsell. What an asset he is to this store. They really needed a colleague like Tyler to bring this branch back to life.
I asked for ordering the eggnog, the cashier just can’t understand and felt un-welcomed. dirty environment and no staff is doing cleaning. No Christmas cup for me. :(
Staff at Starbucks are always welcoming and friendly. Coffee there is really nice, but the food is ok.
I am quite shocked and the sheer rudeness from a members of staff here this morning.
I had just finished my coffee and at 35 weeks pregnant went to use the customer toilets, at first tried the non disabled unisex which someone had forgotten to lock so then I found a member of staff, he wouldn’t give me his name when I asked but he had glasses and dark hair, I asked politely if I could use the disabled toilet as I was quite desperate. He reluctantly got up looked at me and said "can’t you wait for the other toilet?"
I was quite embarrassed and explained I would but I’m heavily pregnant and didn’t think quickly using the disabled would be an issue as the other is occupied and there was nobody else waiting.
It took this member of staff literally seconds to reach over and get the key for me and unlock the door. So why the rudeness? Of course I would of used the non disabled toilet if it was available or I could wait.
I have never been questioned in my life as to wether I can wait to use the toilet and as a paying customer I’m quite astonished to be treated this way.
Awful customer service. Stick to independents who knows how to treat a customer.
