Quick Facts About The Boat Inn

The Boat Inn is a Toller pub located right by the canal, allowing for seating outside and even mooring for boats. It is praised for its good quality pub food at moderate prices, as well as its warm and friendly atmosphere. The strengths and weaknesses of The Boat Inn can be further analyzed based on the comments provided.
One strength highlighted by multiple customers is the food at the pub. The menu is described as superbly varied, offering options such as sausage and mash, chicken dishes, burgers, steak and ale pie, and even Christmas pudding. The food is consistently described as delicious, with dishes cooked to perfection. This indicates that The Boat Inn excels in providing high-quality meals to its customers.
Another strength identified is the service provided by the staff. Customers praise the warm welcome they receive upon entering the pub and describe the staff as friendly and accommodating. Sam, one of the bar staff, is specifically highlighted for delivering exceptional customer service. This indicates that the staff at The Boat Inn is attentive and dedicated to providing a positive experience for customers.
The location of The Boat Inn by the canal is also considered a strength. Customers appreciate the ability to sit outside and enjoy the canal views. The opportunity for mooring is also mentioned, showing that the pub caters to boaters as well. This scenic and unique location adds to the overall experience of visiting The Boat Inn.
The pub's recently changed management is worth mentioning as it can be seen as both a strength and a weakness. While some customers view this change positively and praise the excellent service provided by the new owners, others mention that the pub used to serve food but is not currently doing so. This inconsistency in food availability could be seen as a weakness, as it may disappoint customers who were expecting a meal.
The limited selection of ales is mentioned as a weakness by one customer. While Old Speckled Hen and Landlord are both well-kept options, having only two choices may be seen as restrictive to some. However, it is worth noting that ales may be more limited in the area, leading to this common situation.
Overall, The Boat Inn has several strengths that make it a highly recommended pub. The delicious food, warm and friendly atmosphere, and excellent service provided by the staff contribute to positive customer experiences. The location by the canal adds a unique aspect to the pub, and the limited ale selection is a minor inconvenience for some. With these strengths in mind, The Boat Inn is a pub that offers a quality dining and drinking experience.

Best TL Reviews

Toller Pub mit Sitzmöglichkeiten draußen direkt am Kanal (mooring möglich). Gutes Pub Essen besserer Qualität… moderate Preise… hat auch über Nachmittag warme Küche
Canal side pub which we have visited over the years of holidaying on the canal. The food was nice. We had one sausage and mash with peas in a large Yorkshire pudding and a New Jersey chicken. A large chicken breast with barbecue sauce, bacon, topped with pulled pork and melted cheese. Coleslaw and chips. Enjoyed it very much with a of pints and a couple of J2Os. The staff were very nice. We'll worth a visit.
On a cold Tuesday evening in December we arrived after a chilly boating day. Warm and cheery welcome, an excellent pint and a superbly varied menu greeted us. Choices made, a brief wait before meals being served which were enough to warm cold weary travellers. Burgers, sizzling thai chicken and steak and ale pie mains, chocolate brownies and Christmas pud. Exceptional. WILL return. Thank you.
Delicious food, great beer and a lovely relaxed atmosphere, the Boat Inn is a gem of a pub, located just off the canal. The staff always greet you with a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
Warm, friendly pub. Recently under new management. Used to do food and will do again soon. As is common in this area there are only 2 ales (Old Speckled Hen and Landlord) but both well kept. Cozy and dimly lit. Unobtrusive music. Wooden floors. Waterside frontage.
Sam behind the bar was absolutely fantastic. Best customer service I’ve ever received! Will be coming back just for this. Thank you ????
