Quick Facts About The Cherry Tree

The Cherry Tree place has a number of strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, multiple customers praised the cleanliness of the pub's interior, indicating that the establishment takes pride in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment. This is an important factor for customers when choosing a dining venue. Additionally, the landlady was described as being bubbly, chatty, and fun, providing excellent service to customers. Friendly and efficient service is always a positive aspect of a dining experience.
Another strength of The Cherry Tree place is its menu variety. One customer mentioned that the pub offers a range of smoked meats, with the foot long dog being specifically recommended. This indicates that the pub has a unique and appealing menu that sets it apart from other establishments. Furthermore, a customer stated that the crispy chips were perfectly cooked, suggesting that the quality of the food is high.
The pub's garden was also highlighted as a strength, specifically for families with children. The presence of a climbing frame and swings provides entertainment for children while their parents enjoy a meal. This is a valuable asset for families, as it allows them to dine in a comfortable and family-friendly atmosphere.
In terms of weaknesses, one customer expressed disappointment with the pub's food quality since its reopening. They mentioned that the pub had transitioned from serving quality BBQ-style food to cheaper, mostly microwaved pub grub. This suggests a decline in the overall quality of the food offered by The Cherry Tree place. Additionally, this customer criticized the service for not being particularly quick, indicating a potential area for improvement.
Another potential weakness is the pricing of drinks. One customer mentioned that a Carlsberg beer cost £3.75, which they considered to be fairly hefty. This may be a deterrent for some customers who prioritize affordability when choosing a dining venue. Additionally, the fact that the pool table and amusements were turned off for social distancing may disappoint customers who enjoy these entertainment options while visiting a pub.
Despite these weaknesses, The Cherry Tree place seems to have reestablished itself as a great pub with a fantastic atmosphere, according to one customer. This indicates that the pub has made positive changes since its reopening and has been able to restore its former glory. The combination of great staff, food, and atmosphere suggests that the pub has successfully created a welcoming and enjoyable environment for its customers.
In conclusion, The Cherry Tree place has various strengths, including cleanliness, friendly service, a varied menu with smoked meats, and a family-friendly garden. However, there are also weaknesses to be addressed, such as a decline in food quality and potential issues with speed of service. Overall, it appears that the pub has made positive changes and is on the right track to providing a satisfying and enjoyable dining experience for its customers.

My Mum and I were visiting a local house and looking for somewhere to have lunch on the way. For some reason we couldn't see any signs saying that the pub serves food but thankfully they do. Mum had ham egg and chips. I had a jacket potato. Both meals were good and we both had a hot drink. The pub is very clean on the inside. Service was polite and prompt.
Disappointed. Pub not what it was prior to reopening. Quality bbq style food replaced by cheap mostly microwaved pub grub. Service not particularly quick either. As a local resident I will reluctantly venture into town instead for better food and value.
Excellent service. The landlady is bubbly and chatty and fun. The pub itself is very clean. The garden is perfect for our children to run around and play with the climbing frame and swings.
Excellent place for a meal of smoked meats try the foot long dog succulent and smokey yum.
The service was impeccable and the fresh cooked food even better xxx
Highly recommended, get down there xxx
This place stands out over your standard gastro pub and becomes more of a fully fledged restaurant, with its perfectly cooked crispy chips to it's juicy smoked meats, in my opinion this is a highly underrated establishment. With so much choice
I will work my way through the menu and update pictures as I do as the choice is so tempting it's hard to have just one favourite.
5* from food to cost and service.
Glad its reopened, yes.
A fairly hefty £3.75 for a Carlsberg, id be surprised if there was a more expensive one in Witham.
Pool table moved aside for social distancing, you know what, kinda understandable though the only pub in Witham that has done this, and there are smaller. Was on me Jack Jones so no harm but fact finding.
'Amusements' turned off for presumably same reason.
So. So.
Such a great pub now restored to its former glory. Great staff and food and a fantastic atmosphere.
