Quick Facts About The Resolute

The Resolute place, as indicated by the comments, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. We will analyze each comment to determine the overall strengths and weaknesses of the establishment.
The first comment highlights the issue of misleading pricing. A single pancake for £9 seems excessive and brings a sense of disbelief to customers. This suggests that the prices at The Resolute place might be inflated, which could be a weakness for the establishment. Additionally, the comment mentions that the promise of being served at the table was not fulfilled, indicating a lack of attentiveness or efficiency in customer service.
The second comment reinforces the concern about high prices. The customer feels that the prices are ridiculous, especially for a small cafe in a park next to a children's playground. The mention of a total bill of over £45 for one adult and one child for lunch further emphasizes the issue of high prices. The customer expresses a desire to hear how the prices are justified, suggesting a weakness in the establishment's pricing strategy.
On the other hand, the third comment highlights several strengths of The Resolute place. It describes the cafe as excellent, situated in a pretty park with a big playground. The coffee is praised as great, and there is plenty of seating and shade available. The proximity to the river and the pleasant walk along the towpath are mentioned as additional positives. However, the warning about red kites stealing food suggests a potential drawback that needs to be addressed, such as better protection for customers' food.
The fourth comment raises concerns about the menu and pricing. The customer believes that the menu is not suitable for the location and that the fancy names for the food do not justify the prices. However, they also mention the friendly staff as a positive aspect of The Resolute place. This suggests that while there may be weaknesses in the menu and pricing, the staff is a strength of the establishment.
The fifth comment focuses on the positive aspects of the cafe. The mention of a great "Breakfast Pizza," nice latte, luxury hot chocolate made with chocolate beans, and appealing blueberry muffins highlight the good quality of the food and drinks available. The fact that clean dogs are welcome is also mentioned as a positive aspect. However, it is worth noting that this comment does not address the concerns raised in other comments, such as the high prices or the staff's behavior.
The sixth comment indicates poor customer service. The staff member's response to the inquiry about whether the cafe is dog-friendly was evidently rude, as they shut the door in the customer's face. This demonstrates a weakness in terms of customer service and hospitality. It is important for staff members to be polite and accommodating to customers' inquiries.
The seventh comment suggests a negative relationship between the owners and both staff and customers. The owners are described as rude to staff and customers, which could create a negative work environment and affect the overall experience for customers. Additionally, the mention of stingy rewards cards suggests that the owners are not generous in their customer loyalty program, which could be a weakness.
The final comment raises a concern regarding sustainability. The customer wanted to return their reusable cup but was told that it was not accepted. This could be seen as a weakness because, in today's society, there is an increasing focus on reducing waste and promoting sustainability. The customer points out the irony of using a single-use cup that claims to keep Britain beautiful but is often found littered due to its difficulty in recycling.
In summary, the strengths of The Resolute place include its location in a pretty park with a big playground, plenty of seating and shade, and good quality coffee and food. The friendliness of the staff is also mentioned as a positive aspect. However, the establishment faces several weaknesses, including high and potentially unjustified prices, misleading information about being served at the table, concerns about customer service and the behavior of the owners, and a lack of sustainability efforts. These weaknesses need to be addressed to enhance the overall experience for customers and improve the reputation of The Resolute place.

“Pancakes” was VERY misleading as the singular pancake (the exact same size of the circumference of the cappuccino cup) for £9 immediately brought a sense of disbelief! We’re told, when it was relatively quiet when walking in, that we could sit and would be served at the table- never happened and we eventually ordered from the lady furiously churning out coffees to goodness knows who… left feeling completely overcharged, won’t be back
Nice enough little place, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous. Children's lunch menu starts at £10.50 or more... and we had 2 very small slices of "homemade" chocolate brownie for £9. I don't mind paying a reasonable price but this is proper resteraunt prices for a small cafe in a park next to the kids' playground. Will not be going back there for these prices. Total was over £45 for 1 adult and 1 child for lunch. Would love to hear how they justify these prices.
Excellent cafe in a pretty park with a big playground, lots of seating and shade. Great coffee. Only a few hundred yards walk to the river and a lovely walk along the tow path. Beware of red kites stealing your food.
Menu not suitable for the location. To expensive for what they offer. Fancy names for the food don't justify the price.
Very friendly stuff.
Excellent place. They do a great "Breakfast Pizza" , Nice Latte and the luxury hot chocolate is made with chocolate beans. Blueberry muffins looked good too. Clean "non muddy" dogs are welcome too! Worth a visit.
Asked one of the staff members if the cafe was dog friendly. He replied 'no' and shut the door in our faces..
Owners are rude to staff and customers, prices are very high for very mediocre food and coffee. Rewards cards are very stingy.
But hey, if you want the convenience of coffee in the park, you gotta put up with these guys. That's what you're paying for at the end of the day.
Decided to return my reusable cup saying they don't accept them. I don't understand this when everywhere else accept them no problem. The single use cup they gave me ironically says it is #keepingbritainbeautiful but anyone with eyesight will have seen them inevitably strewn around by accident or selfish disregard. It apparently uses 51% less plastic but with a hard to recycle black plastic lid it seems little more than green washing as very little will be recycled.
Most food was sold out despite but took quite a lot of interrogation to find this out. Sausage roll was okay but expensive and heavy on the fennel seeds. Not recommended.
