Quick Facts About The Folly Coffee House & Cafe
The Folly Coffee House & Cafe, located in the Derby Wing of Worden Hall, has received mostly positive feedback from customers. One of the strengths of the cafe is its location. Situated in Worden Park, customers can enjoy a relaxing stroll in the park before or after visiting the cafe. The presence of an outside courtyard adds to the appeal of the location.
The comments also highlight that the food served at the cafe is of high quality and is served quickly. Customers appreciate the taste and presentation of the food, particularly after a stroll in the cold weather. The positive experience with the food encourages the customers to recommend the cafe to others.
One significant strength that stands out is that The Folly Coffee House & Cafe is dog-friendly. Many customers mention that they appreciate the fact that they can bring their dogs along and enjoy a hot drink. The presence of dogs in the cafe creates a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
However, there are some weaknesses that have been brought to light through the comments. One customer mentions that there is a lack of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. While there are more choices available for vegetarians compared to vegans, the selection is still limited. This could be an area of improvement for the cafe, as there is a growing demand for vegetarian and vegan options in the market.
Another weakness pointed out is the attention to detail in the service. One customer mentions receiving a latte in a cracked cup and a jacket potato that was cold and watery from the salad. While the overall quality of the food was good, these small details can impact the overall experience for customers. Paying attention to these details can help enhance customer satisfaction.
It is also mentioned that the cafe can get very busy, especially on weekends. While this may indicate that the cafe is popular, it can also make it difficult for customers to find a table, particularly during peak hours. The availability of outdoor seating helps alleviate this issue, as customers may choose to sit outside when the weather is suitable.
The comment about the higher cost compared to other options in Leyland indicates that the pricing at the cafe may be on the higher side. However, the pleasant experience, lovely surroundings, and the fact that it is a great place for people to meet up, especially dog walkers, make it worth it for many customers. Additionally, the staff's familiarity with the regular customers and their dogs adds a personal touch to the service.
In conclusion, The Folly Coffee House & Cafe has several strengths, including its location in Worden Park, quick service, high-quality food, and dog-friendly atmosphere. However, there are some weaknesses that should be addressed, such as the limited vegetarian and vegan options, attention to detail in service, and potential crowding during peak hours. Overall, the positive comments and recommendations from customers indicate that The Folly Coffee House & Cafe is a place worth visiting.

First visit to the new cafe located in the Derby Wing of Worden Hall. After a refit by the local council the building is lovely with an outside court yard. Surrounded by Worden Park it is great location. We ordered our food which was served quickly and was very good. I would recommend. Note parking is on the car park which is 5 minutes away unless you are disabled. There is a disabled car park at Worden Hall. Note there is still some refurb ongoing so there is still work going on around the hall. Would recommend a visit.
This place is in Worden Park
So nice to go to after a stroll in the park
Keep coming back here whenever we're strolling the park
Food and drinks were good
Having a hot drink after a stroll in the cold was just great
And the best about this place is it is dog friendly, dogs everywhere!
Had a light lunch here after doing the Maze in the park. Very good service, food quality was good but the selection for vegetarian and vegans was near none existant. There was more of a selection for vegetarians but still not much. I would love to see them have more options available. That being said, the staff were all really friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty, just not much choice. I should have said that my family are all vegetarian but younger kid is not keen on cheese which didn't leave much choice for them. If you are keen on cheese or a meat eater, there is plenty of choice.
Went today for lunch, ordered a latte, it came in a cracked cup, jacket potato was cold, swimming in water from the salad. The scone was lovely but ruined my cheap jam. Staff were pleasant, the food was good but needed attention to detail.
Nice new cafe in Worden Park. Very busy on the day we went. Managed to get a table to enjoy our coffees. Also outdoor seating which we will try when the weather is warmer.
Excellent. We take the dogs round the park, then call in for a latte. Love the fact dogs are welcome too
Omg the veg breakfast was amazing, coffee was lovely n hot, dog biscuits to buy and lovely lay out
Went for breakfast at the weekend and although the cost is a little higher than other options in Leyland it was very pleasant. What we did like was the fact that it is a great place for people to meet up, especially dog walkers etc. Lovely surroundings and the staff knew the names of all the regulars (and their dogs!)
