We came here for food, and was greeted by lovely staff. Great service and tasty food. The lasagne had loads of meat and decent portion sizes. Would happily return. Thank you ????
Came on a Sunday when it was very busy and they were so helpful and let us have an area that is usually closed. Great customer service. Very friendly. Roast was excellent value. Cauliflower cheese was delicious. Gave us a bone for the dog. Lovely staff- would come back!
Visited The Horns Inn yesterday evening to celebrate my elderly parents wedding anniversary. We were looked after very well by Jack, who was polite, patient and professional. His friendly attitude made such a difference to our experience. Great tasty food and the portion size was extremely generous. Menu included several vegetarian options. Being able to park near to the entrance and using the slope to avoid steps made life easier.
We had our wedding reception here and we couldn't believe the beautiful cake display and table decorations they did for us! We dropped the decorations off earlier that day and arrived later than we wanted, as we didn't expect them to decorate it for us. They went above and beyond.
The food was perfect, vegetarian options were great also!
Service was spot on. Thank you for hosting!!
This is a lovely cosy pub right next to a park and lake and were very dog friendly. The staff were really attentive and genuine - great service. Now to the food: crisp batter on the fish n chips. Wonderful chips and the fries for the children were superb. The children's pizzas were proper pizza dough done well. Happy kids. Maybe the mark of the place was the steak and ale pie. A proper pie. the delicious filling was contained by real pie crust - top, side and bottom. none of this sticking a bit of filo over a bowl that so many try get away with. Highly recommended pub and close to Cannock chase and all of the amenities available there.
First visit here after a walk. Wasn't that busy but waited 50min for lunch which is simply unacceptable, esp after walking. Server was friendly and did acknowledge the wait which she explained was due to being short staffed but that should have been communicated when we arrived or at least when taking our food order. Meals were very nice but not '50mins wait' nice. Unlikely we'll visit again which is disappointing as its now our local. Looking at other reviews appears to be hit and miss with the service so may chance it one more time.
The horns is our local and we've been numerous times before- the Sunday dinners are absolutely recommended!!
We went on a Friday night with friends and were disappointed with the service. There was a 60th birthday party we were seated near to and it ruined the atmosphere with how loud the party was. The atmosphere returned to what we're used to once they'd gone and we could hear each other speaking.
The reason I mention the party is because we felt it affected the usually brilliant service- we booked for 7.30, service was slow at the bar with only one lad working behind there who also seated us and took our (eventual) order.
We waited nearly an hour and a half to be served our main course after being initially seated.
We were constantly clock watching wondering whether to ask staff how long it was going to be. It seemed the party knocked the service out of kilter, or there wasn't simply enough staff to cope with the extra demand.
We will, of course, return but this visit with friends was disappointing after we'd spoken so highly of it.
Food when it arrived was as we've had so many times- delicious and piping hot.
Drove 30 minutes to The Horns after a recommendation for a nice quiet meal with my partner. We walked in, it was freezing cold and nobody was behind the bar, after 10 minutes we finally got a drink. The young lad, showed us to our table, which was by the front door and next to 6 blokes drinking and laughing. So i asked if it would be possible for another table as we just wanted a quiet meal. We was told no. So we took a seat and drank our drink. We was then told their was another table, which was great but we made a decision to leave. As we left we got chased out the door, by the woman with dark hair, asking if we wanted our table, we said no thank you, for her to shout 'Well you could of let us know!' And stormed back off inside. Whoever owns this pub, send her on a course or get rid. Wouldn't recommend to anyone and won't be returning anytime soon.
