Quick Facts About The Old Garages
The Old Garages place seems to have several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, it is described as a "lovely" and "treat-yourself" cafe, suggesting that the overall atmosphere and experience are enjoyable for customers. The seating arrangement is noted to be "nice, light, and airy," which contributes to the pleasant ambiance of the cafe. Additionally, the presence of a shop selling artwork and home decor adds to the overall experience, although some customers may find it tempting and avoid entering. The brunch options receive positive feedback, with one customer expressing satisfaction with their brunch of smoked salmon, focaccia, rocket, lemon, and iced coffee. The price of £11 for this brunch is considered reasonable and worth it. The staff is described as "lovely" and "kind," indicating that they provide good customer service.
The cafe is praised for its brunch options, especially for those looking for a Sunday breakfast. The food is described as excellent and cooked to perfection. While there may not be a traditional full English option, there are plenty of other choices available, including vegetarian options. The cafe is recommended for brunch due to its fabulous food, pleasant atmosphere, interesting ambiance, convenient location, and dog-friendly policies. The presence of a real fire and mezzanine seating also adds to the appeal of the place.
However, there are some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer expresses disappointment with the limited dietary choices available lately. Previously, there were gluten-free options, including an amazing cake, but during their recent visit, there were no gluten-free options. This lack of inclusive choices can be seen as a weakness, especially for customers with dietary restrictions or preferences. The suggestion is made for the cafe to keep a loaf of gluten-free bread on standby, which would not be costly and would enhance inclusivity.
Despite this weakness, the comments overall suggest that The Old Garages place is a hidden gem. It is described as quirky and friendly, with praise for the staff and brunch options. The coffee and homemade treats are also praised, and the quirky location adds to the appeal. The prices are noted to be a little above average for Wilmslow, but the customers feel that it is worth it for the unique items, layout, and relaxing atmosphere. Though the service is described as slightly slow on a Sunday morning, it was not an issue for the customers. The fact that the cafe is dog-friendly is also mentioned as a positive aspect.
In conclusion, The Old Garages place has several strengths, including a lovely atmosphere, good food, friendly staff, and a unique ambiance. However, it is important for the cafe to address the lack of dietary choices, especially for gluten-free options, to ensure inclusivity for all customers. Overall, The Old Garages place appears to be a charming and enjoyable cafe and brunch spot in Wilmslow.

Lovely, treat-yourself cafe! This is a little bit of hipster London in Wilmslow! I love coming here for a coffee or brunch. Nice, light and airy feel to the seating arrangement. They also have a shop which appears to sell artwork and home decor things (I daren't go into the shop as it would be far too tempting). An example of a brunch I have purchased today was smoked salmon, focaccia, rocket and wedge of lemon and an iced coffee - it was lovely! At £11, I thought it was completely worth it! Lovely, kind staff too :)
Just found this place for a Sunday breakfast option. The food was truly excellent and cooked to perfection. No full English, but plenty of other options with bacon etc or veggie if you are that way inclined. Well recommended.
Brilliant for brunch. Fab good, lovely atmosphere, interesting place, off the road but very convenient location. Dog friendly, real fire, mezzanine seating. Loved everything about it, especially the food!
Overall a nice lunch spot, but a disappointing amount of dietary choices lately.
Previously they had a few gluten free options, including an amazing cake but this time round, nothing. As almost all of their choices contain bread, it wouldn't be costly for them to keep a loaf of gluten free bread on standby to be more inclusive.
Hidden gem! The place is so quirky and the staff were very friendly. Our brunch was lovely and they have great menu choices will defiantly be back!

Great hidden gem serving lovely coffee and homemade treats in a quirky location. Perfect for those who also enjoy retail therapy!
Lovely little place. Prices are a little above average for Wilmslow, but worth it for the quirky items, layout and a relaxing atmosphere. Food was very good quality and the staff were lovely and helpful. Service was a tad on the slow side, but it was on a Sunday morning so we weren't in a rush. It's also doggy friendly. Lived nearby for a while and haven't been in until today, but will definitely be going back. Thanks for a nice morning.
