Quick Facts About The Red Lion

The Red Lion place has several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers. First and foremost, many customers appreciate the small and cozy atmosphere of the pub. This creates a warm and inviting environment for customers to relax and enjoy their meals or drinks. Additionally, the staff at The Red Lion is described as mainly friendly and bubbly, which contributes to a positive and enjoyable experience for customers. The combination of the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff creates a welcoming atmosphere that many customers appreciate.
One of the standout strengths of The Red Lion is the quality of their food. Many customers comment on the great taste of the food, particularly highlighting the Sunday roast. The Red Lion is praised for their generous portions, with their pasta servings being larger than average. This is seen as a positive aspect, as customers feel they are getting good value for their money. The food is described as delicious, with several customers expressing their enjoyment of the meals they had at The Red Lion.
In terms of ambiance, The Red Lion offers some desirable features. Customers enjoy having the option to book a table inside, especially if it is next to the log fire place. This adds to the cozy atmosphere and allows customers to enjoy their meals in a comfortable setting. Additionally, the pub has a garden at the back with wooden tables and chairs, providing an outdoor seating option for those who prefer it. Finally, the pub offers a nice view of the sunset over the river, creating a pleasant atmosphere for customers to enjoy while having a pint.
One of the weaknesses mentioned by customers is the lack of wheelchair accessibility. This could pose challenges for customers with mobility issues, making it difficult for them to fully enjoy their experience at The Red Lion. This is a significant drawback that may exclude a portion of potential customers.
Another area for improvement mentioned by customers is the temperature of the pub. Some customers found the pub to be quite cold and would have preferred a warmer environment. This might detract from the overall comfort and enjoyment of the experience for some customers.
Additionally, a few customers mentioned that they would have liked to be offered a plate when sharing their food. This suggests that there may be room for improvement when it comes to the attentiveness of the servers. Some customers also remarked that the young staff may be a contributing factor to this aspect.
Despite these weaknesses, The Red Lion still receives positive ratings from many customers. The quality of the food and friendly service are consistently praised, with customers often recommending the pub as a great place to eat. The Sunday roast, in particular, receives glowing reviews, with customers describing it as exceptional and cooked to perfection.
In conclusion, The Red Lion has several strengths that make it an attractive choice for customers. The small and cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and delicious food are major factors contributing to its popularity. The pub's scenic views and outdoor seating options also add to its appeal. However, the lack of wheelchair accessibility, occasional issues with temperature, and room for improvement in terms of attentiveness of servers are weaknesses that could be addressed to further enhance the customer experience at The Red Lion.

Best TL Reviews

Small but cozy pub. The staff is mainly friendly and bubbly.
The food tastes Great, specially their Sunday roast. Their pasta portions is well larger than the average (serves 2 if you order some nibbles), but still tastes good.
If you want a table inside, it’s better to book in advance. Specially for the table next to the log fire place.
Having a pint when watching the sunset over the river it’s also great from there, despite there is a main road (A283) in front of the pub. There is also a garden on the back with some wooden tables/chairs. There is also road side parking on the back
Not the best wheelchair accessibility.

Had a fabulous Sunday (Mother's day) roast. I'm wheat intolerant and I had an abundance of choices of gluten free options. The food was delicious and the staff were very caring and attentive. Highly reccomend a visit for the cosy atmosphere and delicious food!
Excellent service, the Sunday roast was exceptional, roast beef cooked to perfection as was the abundance of vegetables and roasties, the best roast dinner ever, there is no room for improvement, absolutely perfect, would definitely recommend the Red Lion as one of the best places to eat, compliments to the chef ????????????????
Excellent friendly and efficient service, really delicious restaurant quality food and excellent value and much better than lots of pubs in Brighton that charge lots more. Will definitely come again!
Nice pub for a drink at the end of a good walk up the downs. Open fire and easy access to the downslink and across the old toll bridge towards Lancing College. Food is available but I haven't tried it so can't comment. Would recommend but beware of low beams as it is very old.
Excellent fish and chips at lunch time today. Efficient and friendly service and a fine selection of local real ales on offer (and nice to be offered some tasters before selecting).
