Quick Facts About The Stags Head

The Stags Head in Portslade Old Village has received mixed reviews from customers. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the pub, we will consider the comments provided.
One of the predominant criticisms mentioned in the comments is the lack of food. The Stags Head does not serve food, as stated in one of the reviews. This can be a weakness for potential customers who are looking for a place to have a meal along with their drinks. However, it is worth noting that some customers appreciate the fact that the pub does not serve food, as it allows them to bring their own or order from elsewhere.
Another negative aspect highlighted in the comments is the presence of a noisy child upstairs. This noise was mentioned to have downgraded the overall experience for one customer. While this is a specific incident, it can impact the pub's atmosphere and customer satisfaction if it becomes a recurring issue.
One customer noted that the pub food caused their IBS to resurface, which suggests a lack of quality in the food options. If the pub were to reconsider serving food in the future, they would need to ensure that it meets the expectations and dietary needs of their customers.
On the positive side, the pub received compliments on its good selection of beers and real ales. One customer specifically mentioned the quality of Harvey's Beer, which was described as amazing. This is a strength for the pub as it shows that they are able to deliver on their beer offerings.
The landlord and staff also received praise for being great and friendly. This is a notable strength, as customer service plays a significant role in the overall experience. Friendly staff can help create a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for customers.
Another strength mentioned in the comments is the cleanliness and tidiness of the pub. Customers appreciated the improvements made to the toilets, stating that they are much cleaner now. A clean and tidy pub is important for customers' comfort and enjoyment, making this a positive attribute for The Stags Head.
Additionally, the pub is described as a nice and friendly local establishment. This is a positive characteristic, as it suggests a sense of community and inclusivity. Customers value the two separate bars that sell good real ales, which adds to the pub's appeal.
The pub's decision to open on Christmas Day was also appreciated by a customer. This demonstrates a willingness to go above and beyond for their customers and accommodate special occasions.
Lastly, one long-time customer noted that they used to be a regular in the past and still find the pub to be a good local spot. They praise the good service and mention the presence of live music, which is an added bonus.
In conclusion, The Stags Head in Portslade Old Village has both strengths and weaknesses. Some strengths include a good selection of beers and real ales, friendly staff, and a clean and tidy pub. However, weaknesses include the lack of food options, occasional noise disturbances, and reported issues with the quality of the pub food. By addressing these weaknesses and building upon their strengths, The Stags Head has the potential to improve the overall customer experience and attract a wider range of customers.

Very friendly and cheap prices,£4.90 a pint.
Great live music too.
Nice friendly local with 2 separate bars selling good real ales
Harvey’s Beer was amazing. Thank you for opening on Xmas Day
I used to be a Friday night regular here for ten years in the 90s-00s. It's a lot tidier and cleaner now and the toilets are a major improvement. Nice garden area with benches albeit the dog toilet gives it a slightly unpleasant smell. Good service and would return again.
Good local pub. I was there to listen to a band.they have greative bands every weekend
