Quick Facts About The Twitchel Inn
The Twitchel Inn, now called the Corner Room, appears to have several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, it is described as "smart and welcoming," indicating that the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. The presence of a range of draft beers and an excellent menu suggests that the establishment caters to a variety of tastes and preferences. This is further supported by the positive feedback on the food, with phrases like "great food" and "lovely selections of food" being used. The presence of friendly staff is also mentioned multiple times, indicating that the service is of a high standard.
The fact that the establishment recently received an excellent review in the local press is another strength, as it demonstrates that the quality of the food and service has been recognized and appreciated by others. Positive reviews can often attract new customers and enhance the reputation of a business.
Furthermore, the presence of real ales and craft beers is mentioned as a positive aspect by one of the commenters, indicating that the establishment caters to beer enthusiasts and offers a good selection of beverages. The reasonable prices are also praised in one of the comments, suggesting that the Corner Room offers good value for money.
However, despite these strengths, there are also some weaknesses highlighted in the comments. One commenter mentions that the vegan hazelnut praline cake was "extremely bland" and came with a "horrible sauce." This suggests that the quality of the desserts may be inconsistent or that some dishes may not meet expectations.
Another commenter mentions that the food is "hit and miss" and some dishes were not great. They also state that the atmosphere is lacking and that the establishment may be more suited for older individuals on a budget rather than younger people looking for a lively pub experience. This suggests that the overall dining experience may not be consistently excellent and that the ambiance may not be as vibrant as some other establishments.
Additionally, the commenter mentions that the food is "cheap chain pub food" and that the breakfast is the only good value. This implies that the quality of the food may not be up to par with independent restaurants and that the overall menu may be limited in terms of variety and creativity.
In conclusion, the strengths of the Corner Room (formerly The Twitchel Inn) include its welcoming atmosphere, range of draft beers, excellent menu, positive reviews, great service, and reasonable prices. However, the weaknesses identified in the comments include inconsistent dessert quality, hit and miss dishes, lack of atmosphere, and a perception of cheap chain pub food. It is important for potential customers to consider these strengths and weaknesses when deciding whether to visit the establishment.
Best TL Reviews
It is now called the corner room, it is very smart and welcoming, they have a range of draft beers and an excellent menu. It has just had an excellent review in the local press, I can highly recommend it
Great food, our waitress was lovely, main course delicious, truly lovely.
The dessert (I had a vegan hazelnut praline cake) was extremely bland and a huge disappointment after a wonderful dinner. Came with a really really horrible sauce as well.
Came in for a quick bite to eat and a drink. Good selection of real ales and craft beers and very tasty ciabatta sandwiches, all at reasonable prices. Friendly staff too and a relaxing atmosphere.
Lovely roast dinner thoroughly enjoyed it lovely staff very friendly highly recommend
Great food lovely staff and atmosphere
Great service and lovely selections of food! Really good now it's changed to the Corner Room.
Okay place to go if you want something cheap, think basic Spoons. The food is a bit hit and miss, the breakfasts and curries were good but some other dishes really weren't that great. Drinks are cheap. No real atmosphere though. A place for older folk on a budget rather than younger people looking for a lively pub to hang out in.
Probably my favourite pub in Long Eaton as the drinks are both fair priced and more importantly unlike a lot of L.e pubs actually what it says on the label! Food ain't great but then cheap chain pub food never is. Breakfast is good value and the staff are great so would recommend as a good all-round place to go.
