Quick Facts About The White Horse Cafe

The White Horse Cafe seems to have both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned is that it is a good place for students, with a lot of student deals available. This indicates that the establishment caters to the needs and budget of students, which can be a positive factor for its target audience. Additionally, the masala fish and seekh are recommended as worth a try, suggesting that the food quality of certain items is enjoyable. The affordability of the prices is also highlighted as a strength, which can make it an attractive option for customers looking for reasonably priced food.
However, there are also significant weaknesses mentioned. The most prominent one is the long waiting time for food. Several comments mention that even if there is no crowd, customers still have to wait for a considerable amount of time because the food is prepared fresh. This waiting time is mentioned as a negative aspect, which can discourage customers who are looking for a quick and efficient service. The service itself is described as horrific and staff members are reported to be curt and snappy. This poor service can greatly impact the overall dining experience and discourage customers from returning.
The issues with the service also extend to face-to-face customers versus online orders. One comment suggests that face-to-face customers have to wait longer compared to those who order online, indicating a potential prioritization issue. This can create a sense of disregard for in-person customers and further contribute to the negative perception of the establishment's service.
In terms of the food itself, there seems to be mixed feedback. While some comments mention that the food is great in terms of taste and quality, others mention certain items being disappointing. For example, one customer complains about only receiving 95% of the sauce with bones. Another comment mentions issues with the burgers being soggy and the chips being refried. Inconsistencies in food quality and portion sizes are highlighted as weaknesses of The White Horse Cafe.
Additionally, concerns about food safety are raised in one of the comments. A customer reports witnessing staff dropping utensils on the floor and returning them near the grill, suggesting a lack of adherence to food safety standards. This can be a significant weakness and raise concerns about the overall hygiene and cleanliness practices of the establishment.
Overall, The White Horse Cafe appears to have strengths in terms of catering to students, offering affordable prices, and providing certain enjoyable dishes. However, its weaknesses lie in long waiting times, poor service, inconsistencies in food quality, and potential concerns regarding food safety practices. These areas of improvement should be addressed in order to enhance the overall customer experience and reputation of the establishment.

This place is good for students , has a lot of student deals, the masala fish and seekh are worth a try, but if you want your food be prepared to wait for a long time here , as the food is prepared fresh , even if the restaurant has no crowd you'll have to wait.
It's located just opposite Nottingham 2, easily accessed from over there.
The service is horrific. If you order in person be prepared to wait 30 minutes before you are served because those who order on-line take greater priority then a face-to-face customer, and no staff even acknowledged my existence during this time, but were curt and snappy. The only saving grace is the food which is decent, I will give it that much, and the prices are reasonable. These are literally the only two saving graces, other wise I would deem this establishment a “no star”. #slacks
Ordered lamb with rice, only got 95 of sauce with a few bones in it to take away. Why sell this for 7.95 if its plain rice and sauce...
Great fast food takeaway! They have decent affordable prices. I've been here a few times to order, the staff have always been friendly and polite. The food is always great quality and worth the price you are paying for. There is seating available inside the takeaway to eat inside but you can also get your food delivered. Overall happy with the food, quality and service ! Definitely recommend people to go here and try the food! Its delicious!
Depending on who’s working and serving the food can be good but mostly complete s***t. Burgers are soggy with chips refried. Asked for meat on the chips, they give 5-6 pieces of it. On top of this, they charge different prices. One day it’s 4.50 next weeks it’s 5.50 etc. Pizza base is raw and like it’s still uncooked. Disgusting
Just had a Deliveroo delivery from here and it was so good! Really tasty home cooked chicken curry with rice, garlic nann and samosa. So much better than your typical Indian takeaway, can’t wait to try some more dishes!
I ordered a chicken curry with rice and some samosas and onion bhajis. The curry was really good, spice on point. The other food was ok, could be a bit better. The prices are really good, you'd expect small portions for the low prices they charge but in fact, the portions were as large as any other usual Indian takeaway. The biggest problem with this establishment was the waiting times. I went to the takeaway, ordered and collected it, it took about 20 minutes which may seem reasonable, however the curry was already ready when I got there and is not made to order. All they had to do is heat up the curry and yet it still took far longer than it should. I would have probably given 5 stars if service was a little better.
Everything seems reasonably good, the food is ok from my limited experience. But when you see staff drop utensils on the floor and then just put them back near the grill you can't help but think "bacterial paradise". It's not difficult to actually follow food safety standards.
