Quick Facts About Whytes Cafe Bar
Whytes Cafe Bar seems to have a number of strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the cafe is praised for its delicious food and excellent quality. Customers mention enjoying a lovely breakfast with homemade scones and a variety of menu options. The coffee is also mentioned as being lovely. This suggests that Whytes Cafe Bar places a strong emphasis on the quality and taste of their food and drinks.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the friendly and welcoming staff. Customers appreciate the warm reception and friendly service they receive when visiting the cafe. This positive interaction with staff contributes to the overall atmosphere of the cafe, described as bubbly and enjoyable. The attentive and helpful service is noted as a standout feature of the cafe.
The value for money is also mentioned as a strength of Whytes Cafe Bar. Customers note that the prices are reasonable and represent good value, especially compared to alternative options such as hotel breakfasts. This suggests that the cafe offers affordable options while still maintaining quality and taste.
The atmosphere of the cafe is also mentioned positively. Customers mention the sound of laughter in the background, contributing to a lively and enjoyable environment. Fresh flowers on the tables add a nice touch and contribute to the overall ambiance of the cafe. The clean and spotless nature of the cafe is also noted as a positive aspect.
While the majority of comments are positive, there are a few weaknesses that can be gleaned from the feedback. One customer mentions that the coleslaw tasted and looked different compared to previous visits, suggesting a potential inconsistency in the food quality. Another customer mentions that the staff member did not greet them until they asked if they could take a seat, and also mentioned that the cafe was closing soon. This lack of initial greeting and mention of closing time could be seen as a negative customer experience.
Additionally, one customer suggests that the cafe can get busy at peak times, leading to difficulties in finding a table. This could be seen as a potential weakness in terms of capacity and seating availability. The comment also suggests that the cafe's popularity could contribute to these issues, highlighting the need for potential solutions such as expanding seating or implementing a reservation system.
Lastly, one customer suggests that the cafe could benefit from selling vouchers as a potential revenue stream. They mention attempting to purchase one as a gift but were unable to do so. This presents a missed opportunity for the cafe to capitalize on customer loyalty and potentially increase sales.
In conclusion, Whytes Cafe Bar has several strengths including delicious food, friendly staff, a welcoming atmosphere, and reasonable prices. However, there are also a few weaknesses such as potential inconsistencies in food quality, issues with initial greetings and closing time notifications, seating availability during peak times, and the lack of voucher sales. These weaknesses could be addressed to further improve the overall customer experience at Whytes Cafe Bar.

We had a lovely delicious breakfast here and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Bubbly atmosphere. We stumbled across here randomly on the side of the high streets. We hope this little cafe does well as it is lovely ????
Simple.menu, superbly done, excellent quality good value for money. If your staying at the crown and mitre hotel they charge £12 for breakfast your much better off coming here, very Friendly staff.
Beautiful home made scones, lovely coffee, fresh flowers on the tables , what’s not to like. Will be visiting again .
I think someone has taken over this cafe , the coleslaw tasted/looked different and the New York Panini was ok but the BBQ sauce didn't taste like it used to. Menu and decor has remained the same. The waitress was folding cutlery when we walked in and didn't greet us until I asked if we could take a seat, she also mentioned that they were shut very soon before we sat down
Great coffee, lovely food, sound of laughter a constant background (usually from Claire). Try the cheesiest cheese omlette, best in town by miles. Can't go wrong here.
Whytes Cafe is a 'must do' if you're having a day out in Carlisle.
My wife and I checked the reviews and thought we'd try it for a breakfast....good decision.
Can only say excellent service and delicious food, hot but not over cooked. Well done to the staff and cook(s).
Home made baking and home made Jam superb!!
The cafe has a good atmosphere, is spotless and staff are very helpful and attentive.
Thank guys.
A friendly cafe bar (more cafe than bar - daytimes till 4pm only) with a warm welcome and smiley, friendly service. The food is excellent; simple snack meals, with a menu that varies a little from day to day, including nutritious filling soups, and a wonderful selection of cakes and sweets. It can be a little busy at peak times, and sometimes I have been disappointed in not getting a table, but this is a sure sign of its popularity and warm welcome.
My one suggestion to the management would be to sell vouchers. I tried to buy one as a birthday present for a friend who is a regular client, but they are not available...maybe a little trade lost here! Worth thinking about.
I look forward to my next visit.
Wonderful staff and a great place for brunch / breakfast. Will come back. Good prices as well, everything in the picture cost ~ 10 pounds.
