Quick Facts About Woodway Barber and Salon
Woodway Barber and Salon place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One strength mentioned by multiple commenters is the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the salon. Customers appreciate the warm environment created by the owner, Tina, and her staff. It is mentioned that they make an effort to make customers feel comfortable by providing amenities such as TVs, a pool table, and snacks like candy and drinks. This creates a positive experience for customers and contributes to the overall ambiance of the salon.
Another strength mentioned is the convenience of scheduling appointments and accepting walk-ins. Customers appreciate the flexibility in booking appointments, allowing them to plan ahead or drop in spontaneously. This flexibility appeals to a wide range of customers who have different preferences when it comes to scheduling their salon visits.
Furthermore, the salon is praised for its ability to cater to a variety of hair types and styles. One customer mentions that the staff does a great job with different types of hair, including their own diverse hair collection of 14 or 15 wigs. This indicates that the salon has the expertise to handle a range of hair services, making it a suitable choice for customers with various hair needs.
However, the comments also reveal several weaknesses of Woodway Barber and Salon place. One recurring complaint is the issue of overcharging. One customer mentions being charged $60 for a basic haircut that should have only cost $35 according to the salon's own price signage. This discrepancy between the advertised price and the actual charges is seen as a negative aspect, causing dissatisfaction among customers.
Another weakness highlighted is the poor quality of the haircuts received by some customers. One commenter describes their cut as "atrocious" and "poorly executed." Some customers mention that the stylists did not deliver the desired results, and in some cases, the end result even caused damage to their hair. These negative experiences indicate a lack of skill or attention to detail on the part of the stylists, which is a significant weakness for the salon.
Hygiene is also mentioned as an issue. One customer states that the salon had a strong odor of urine and that the sinks were filthy. This raises concerns about the cleanliness and sanitation practices of the salon, which can be a major turn-off for customers seeking a hygienic and comfortable environment.
Based on the comments, it can be concluded that Woodway Barber and Salon place has strengths in terms of a friendly atmosphere, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to handle different hair types. However, it also has weaknesses such as overcharging, poor quality haircuts, and questionable hygiene standards. These weaknesses may impact the overall reputation of the salon and discourage potential customers from choosing their services.

Very nice very hard working people who do a great job at just about anyone's hair Including mine of which I have about 14 or 15 of them hahaha
Tina and her staff are very welcoming and have a nice shop here in Edmonds. Friendly atmosphere with tvs, a pool table, some snacks like candy and drinks are available. I prefer to schedule an appointment but they also do walk ins. I have been going here regularly for a while now and plan to do so in the future.
Called ahead on Friday evening to ask if they take walk ins. They said yes, and to come in at 5, that they could do a quick women’s haircut.
Their signs in the salon say women’s haircut costs $35, and yet this wannabe “salon” charged me a total of $60 for a basic haircut. A basic layer and trim.
I had even already washed and shampooed my hair at home, because I wasn’t even planning to get my hair done and decided to treat myself on Friday after work. I was just trying to treat myself to a quick trim and basic layer cut on a whim and left with a haircut from hell.
Their “stylist” joked that I came prepared with my pre-washed slightly damp hair because they needed help.
Looking back …Obviously, girl, yeah it’s apparent now you do need help— because what you provided was atrocious. I left with a BASIC poorly executed cut that I could do on my own at home and I had to bite my tongue when paying because at that $60 price point… I should have just gone to Chroma Salon like I initially planned and they would have taken much better care of me and at the LEAST applied some product to my hair.
Woodway “Salon” legit smelled like urine, and I’m glad I had already washed my hair at home because their sinks were filthy.
I wish I could give zero stars for this place. They don’t deserve one. They upcharged 100% for a basic and poor quality haircut. They didn’t even apply product to my hair, just did a bad job blow drying my hair to the point of frizziness and frying my hair with a flat iron with absolutely ZERO product to heat protect my hair. Left with fried hair.
Never EVER recommending this place. Next time I’m sticking to a reputable salon and not some place like this. Do yourself a favor ladies, and avoid this place like the plague.
I left a 30% tip too because I’m not petty, but they honestly need to do better. Seriously, if you have the chance save your wallet and yourself the headache and go anywhere else.
Fast, Friendly and great for young kids! The race car chair is a hit with our 2 and 3 year olds! Close to Edmonds, Shoreline, and Mountlake Terrace.
She cuts my 12 year olds’ son chut his just - he will ONLY let them do it. Great experience. Happy to support local businesses when possible as well ????
Perfect place for a kiddos haircut, they are super patient! Love this place.
Always love seeing Tina. Such a great job everytime. I went in for my first time a long while ago, and I ended up not going back for the second time in almost 3 months. She still remembered my name, where I worked, and so many other things. Such a sweet lady, if you haven't been here before, I strongly reccomend going.
Do not go here. I wanted a simple sideburn and neck trim. I have long hair and I wear it up in a ponytail. I can’t do that now because of what happened. I told the person who was doing my hair I just wanted a simple neck trim. She had no idea what I was talking about even after I pointed to the scruff and said, “I would like this gone.” I repeated this four times till she said, “Ah! Okay.” She then proceeded to give me a diagonal cut cutting off all the hair from the back of my skull. I know look so unprofessional I can’t wear my hair up for work. I’m gonna try to grow it down and fix it but I would suggest no one come here. it’s not worth it.
