Quick Facts About 6 Mile Run
The Six Mile Run place has several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, it is praised for its good quality mountain biking (MTB) trails. These trails are described as being throughout the park and offer a good experience for riders. They are specifically mentioned as being cross-country (XC) or blue trails, indicating a moderate level of difficulty suited for experienced riders. The trails are appreciated by riders who enjoy the challenge and the opportunity for biking.
Additionally, the park seems to have a good balance between bikers and hikers. Some hikers are encountered along the route, but not in excessive numbers, allowing bikers to enjoy their ride without significant interruptions. There is also mention of communication between riders to prevent collisions, indicating a sense of camaraderie and safety awareness among the trail users.
The park is also commended for its natural beauty and views. Comments refer to the cool riders, cool views, and open terrain along the way. These scenic aspects enhance the overall experience of being in the Six Mile Run place, making it an enjoyable destination for outdoor enthusiasts.
There are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One notable weakness is the condition of the trails after recent storms. The comments suggest that there are still some bridge paths out of order, which can cause detours and potentially impact the flow of the ride or hike. This could be seen as a temporary weakness, as the park management is likely to work on repairing and maintaining the trails.
There are also some concerns related to safety and suitability for certain user groups. One comment suggests that the trails have unnecessary twists and turns, which may make navigation challenging or potentially dangerous, especially for walkers or hikers. There is also mention of encountering small snakes on the trail, which can be a concern for some individuals. Additionally, there is a mention of a rider having a nasty fall, indicating the potential risks and need for caution, especially on more technical sections.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of suitability for beginners or people with no experience. The trails are described as challenging and not recommended for those without the necessary skills and gear adjustment knowledge. This limitation can impact families or individuals who are new to mountain biking or hiking, as the trails may be too difficult for them to enjoy safely.
Lastly, the park's accessibility after rainfall is highlighted as a weakness. Commenters mention that the trails hold onto water well and advise staying away on the day following rain. This can limit the usability and enjoyment of the park for a significant period if there is frequent rainfall.
In conclusion, the strengths of the Six Mile Run place include its good quality biking trails, scenic views, and a balance between bikers and hikers. However, there are weaknesses such as trail conditions after storms, potential safety concerns, limited suitability for beginners, and accessibility issues after rain. Understanding these strengths and weaknesses can help individuals make informed decisions about visiting the park and adjust their expectations accordingly.

Went to Six Mile on 10/16/2021 to get in some good MTB. Very good XC/Blue MTB trails throughout. Met a handful of hikers on the ride, not too many. Many cool riders. Be aware of oncoming traffic. Still some bridge paths that are out due to last months storms. So you may have some jumps or detours to get around some of these spots.
Nice trail with, with mild/moderate trade. As you go deeper into the trail there are a lot of (unnecessary?) twists and turns. Watch out for bikes. I would say this trail is more suited for them than us walkers. One gentleman had a nasty fall and we had to help him up. He seemed quite dazed so we gave him a sip of water from our bottle and that seemed to perk him up. I didn't have my clinometer with me so my comments about average grade (i.e., steepness of the trail) is an estimate. Watch for small snakes. They are all over the place. We had to move one to the side because it was in danger of getting run over.
First time here and I loved it didn't know what trail I was riding until I got to a marker and notice I was on the blue trail. But absolutely loved every minute of it!! Looking forward to going back and exploring some more.
A bit challenging. Definitely not for beginners. If you don't know how to adjust your gears for steep you will cry on this trails. Some cool views. Fresh water somewhere on the way for you to get your feet in if you are hot and super tired. Trails mostly used by bikers. Some hikers here and there but they step to the side for you. Lot of communication between riders to prevent collision. Some open terrain along the way but nothing to worry about if you go early.
I came here with a few friends to bike and had an absolutely great time. These trails are not too technical, but on the same hand I would not feel comfortable going out with my family (people with 0 experience). If you would consider yourself to be athletic through any capacity, you can handle this, and enjoy the views along the way. I would not do this with an entry level mountain bike, especially if wet. if anything, its worth a day trip for the hike.
Awesome trails for a hike or a solid bike ride. Stay away after rain the previous day as the trails hold onto the water well. Plenty to explore.
A good place to hike in the vicinity. Lots of undulations. Makes for an interesting 1-2 hour hike
Excellent for bike and walking
