Quick Facts About African World of Braids

Strengths:
1. Longevity: The commenter mentioned that they have been a patron of African World of Braids for 20 years. This indicates that the business has been able to build a loyal customer base over a significant period of time, which demonstrates their ability to consistently deliver satisfactory services.
2. Improvement in management: Another comment states that the shop has gone from being "horrible" to well-run, professional, and clean with great customer service. This suggests that the new owners have made efforts to improve the overall management and operations of the salon, enhancing the customer experience and satisfaction.
3. Skillful braiders: Several comments mention that the braids done at African World of Braids are beautiful and that everyone in the shop can braid well. This highlights the skill and expertise of the braiders employed at the salon, which is an important strength for a braiding business.
4. Positive results: A few commenters express satisfaction with the final results of their hair appointments. They mention being happy with their box braids and knotless braids, indicating that the salon is capable of delivering desirable hairstyles to their customers.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent hours: One comment mentions that the posted hours are not applicable, and the salon staff tends to come in whenever they feel like it. This inconsistency in operating hours can be frustrating for customers who rely on accurate opening times to plan their visits.
2. Unavailability of desired styles: One customer mentions that they came to the salon for human hair micro braids but had to settle for small box braids instead. This indicates a lack of availability of desired styles, which may disappoint customers who have specific preferences or requests.
3. Tension on edges and disregarding objections: Despite the commenter's continual objections to small edge parts and a desire to have less tension on their edges, the issue was not resolved. This suggests a lack of attention to customer preferences and a disregard for their comfort and satisfaction.
4. Poor customer service: Several comments point out poor customer service experiences at African World of Braids. Complaints range from the inability to perform requested styles to unethical behavior and misleading pricing. These incidents reflect a weakness in the salon's customer service practices and their ability to meet customer expectations.
5. Timing issues: One commenter mentions being late for both appointments they made at the salon. This reflects a lack of punctuality and suggests that the salon may not prioritize timeliness, which can be inconvenient for customers who have limited availability or strict schedules.
Overall, African World of Braids has strengths in terms of longevity, improvement in management, skillful braiders, and positive results. However, they face weaknesses such as inconsistent operating hours, unavailability of desired styles, tension on edges, poor customer service, and timing issues.

So I’ve been a patron of this shop for 20years. They seem to have new owners. Posted hours are not applicable. They come when they come. The traditional selections for hair and styles are not the same. I came for human hair micro braids. They were not available, and so I settled for small box braids. The braids are beautiful though still a little too much tension on the edges despite my continual objections to small edge parts. For $200 I would expect to get exactly what I wanted. Today I settled for less. Won’t be returning.
Ive geniunly seen this place go from horrible to well ran, proffessional, clean along with great customer service. Kuddos.
By far my worse saloon experience ever! After booking an appointment I got to the place and the two ladies there could not do corn rows which I had already sent a picture of the style I wanted and negotiated for. The owner with whom I booked the appointment was all the way elsewhere and asked me to meet her, transportation would have cost me $60. In the end I had to do box braids and paid way more than the price I had already negotiated for. The box braids was nice in the end but customer service is extremely poor, unethical to the highest degree. I wish them a positive change. Giving them a one star is extremely generous.
I used their services twice and each time very satisfied with my results. My only coumplain is timing. They have been late for both appointments I've made. I would recommend not making an appointment @ 10am, when they say the shop will open bc thy will not arrive until 11-1130am.
I asked for gel twists and the owner put soooooo much product in my hair that my whole head was white the next day. These people want to do what want instead of what u ask they want the money and not to take care of the natural hair..this is a mess.
I went to go get my hair braided 6/14/18 being that I was in the area after discussing what style I would go with she asked me to ????. Which let me confused because she hadn’t even touched my hair I asked her to do a braid so I can see her work however she refused and stated she been in business for 9 years. Her ego made her lose a customer you can’t ask me to pay for something that I haven’t seen or no pictures of your work. I would not recommend this place to anyone
Appt was set for 10:30am with braider who did not show up until 12pm. Showed pictures of size an got two different sizes in my head because it ended up being two different individuals working on my Hair. The end result was 12 hours an 30 minutes of sitting in a chair to get my hair done(I left the chair at 11:00pm) which was not worth the 200 I paid. Ladies I do not recommend this hair salon.
I absolutely recommend African World of Braids to anyone who wants the best . Every one in the shop can braid. My experience was amazing. Professional service, and most of all everyone has talent. I got knotless braids and I love them!!! Thanks!
