Quick Facts About AMY'S NAILS
Amy's Nails has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. To fully assess its strengths and weaknesses, we will examine the comments one by one.
Strengths:
1. Long-lasting gel nails: One customer mentioned that their gel French nails lasted for weeks. This indicates that Amy's Nails has skilled technicians who are able to apply gel polish effectively, resulting in prolonged durability.
2. Clean and pretty salon: Another customer commented on the clean and aesthetically pleasing environment of the salon. A clean salon is a sign of proper hygiene practices and attention to detail, which is essential in a nail salon.
3. Accommodating staff: A customer expressed gratitude towards the staff for staying open a bit later to accommodate their schedule. This suggests that the staff at Amy's Nails are willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction.
Weaknesses:
1. Rude staff and poor customer service: Several negative reviews mentioned disrespectful and rude behavior by the staff at Amy's Nails. This includes speaking about customers in a different language, being unkind, and displaying poor communication skills. Rude behavior not only creates a negative experience for customers but can also damage the reputation of the salon.
2. Inconsistent quality and deficiencies in service: Some customers experienced inconsistencies in the quality of their services. One individual mentioned that their nails were neglected during a recent visit, with important steps such as the removal of dead skin and cuticle care being skipped. Another customer complained about the nails being thick and had to go elsewhere to get them redone. Inconsistency in service quality and deficiencies in executing basic nail care tasks can lead to dissatisfaction and a lack of trust from customers.
3. Lack of knowledge and miscommunication: One review highlighted a lack of knowledge and miscommunication on the part of the staff. This includes assuming that the customer wanted shellac nails and demanding extra money, failing to label nail polishes clearly, and accusing customers of not knowing what they were doing. Such missteps demonstrate a lack of professionalism and attention to detail.
In conclusion, Amy's Nails has strengths in terms of lasting gel nails, a clean salon, and accommodating staff. However, the salon has significant weaknesses, such as rude staff, inconsistent quality, deficiencies in service, and miscommunication issues. These weaknesses can greatly affect the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon. It is important for Amy's Nails to address these weaknesses and prioritize training and improvement in customer service and technical skills to provide a consistently positive experience for all customers.

My gel on natural French nails lasted weeks!!! Thanks Alison. Really pretty and clean salon even then brushes match on each station. Being my first time Alison really set the bar doing the job throughly and professionally. Will be back when you're not busy. I honestly cannot fault this place.
Loveley nail shop with nice girls! They stayed open a bit later for me as I was desperate to have my nails done before lockdown and was working myself and they took really good care of me ! Thank you !
The staff is extreemely rude i went back there today as i did my nails a one and a half week ago and they were disgusting !! the woman that was doing them had no idea what she was doing and she put the gel on my cuticules so a week later they were all horrible as air went under the gel on both sides on almost every nail !! and also she used a normal nail polish top coat which peeled off itself after few days . So when something like this will happen to me in any other salon they will happily offer me to fix them obviously for free or once the lady in Nails Boutique offered me a fresh new set when they did a horrible job on my nails , i didnt ask for a refund, i came beeing nice to them and all i could hear from rude owner was : do you smoke?!?!( no i dont ) he was trying to do anything to blam e me and told me that i can pay for infill so they will fix it if not they will only put top coat now!! Here is a picture how the lady fixed them (filed them not even properly as i could still se the air under them ) and she wanted to put a clear top coat nail polish on the top of that . i had enough, i asked them to clean the top coat and said to the man that he have lost the sutomer just and which he answer to me ( in front of at least 5 customers when doing some ladys nails) WE DONT WANT YOU HERE GO AN DMAKE YOUR NAILS YOURSELF!!! i literally went speachless , just said thats very nice of you and left . PLEASE PEOPLE DONT GO TO THEM I HOPE THEY WILL NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS AND HAD TO CLOSE DOWN SOON !!! The service of nail salons in this country scares me , and the wors is people thinks its ok to pay for this level of work ! i paid 30 pounds for those disgusting nails and i am nail techniquen myslef i just dont wor as one ale let me say THE HYGIENE DOES NOT EXIST THERE! gloves ? using sanitised and clean tools? they use same files , they dont wear gloves and dont wash they hands after customers and they use their own nails to push gel, cuticules etc... i am cringing when i see places that make money on people ... it was i think the worst beauty experience ever and i will make sure i will leave my feedback on every website that is possible and i will tell every friend of mine to not go there. I ONLY GAVE THE STAR BECAUSE I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO POST THIS REVIEW IF I WILL LEAVE ZERO BUT THEY DONT DESERVE EVEN HALF OF A STAR !
ALSO LADIES CHINSESE NAIL SALOND DO NOT OFFER A GEL MANICURE ! GEL ONLY COMES IN FORM OR GEL AND YOU HAVE TO DRY IT IN A LAMP THEY OFFER YOU ACRYLIC AND LIE THAT ITS GEL THIS LITERALLY MADE ME LAUGH HOW GIRL CAN EVEN BELIEVE THAT THE POWDER IS A GEL!!! JUST GET ACRYLIC DONT PAY EXTRA MONEY FPR ACRYLIC THAT SUPPOSED TO PRETEND TO BE A GEL!!!
So normally when I go there, they do a fab job. I always get shellac as I have long natural nails. I’ve been there 8 times and usually it’s great but the most recent time I went my nails were briefly filed and then the shellac applied... my nails weren’t cut (I asked for shorter), no dead skin was removed, the cuticles weren’t pushed down, no base layer was applied, no oils were applied, no cream applied to my hands, nothing. The whole process took under 10 mins which shows there was not a lot of care put into it. The polish did not reach the edges of my nails and as a result I left the salon looking like I had a week of growth on the shellac already! I had them done on Saturday and by Thursday they were all peeling. I was really upset as normally when I have them done there they last for 3 weeks minimum and look amazing. I’m going back this week to see if it was a one off or not, will update this accordingly.
I have been to Amy's nails twice in the past year and both times were awful. I only returned because I thought I would give them another chance. On both occasions the ladies who did my pedicure and nails were so rude and made me feel uncomfortable. As I was sat in the chair she made an effort to be rude and talk about me to her colleagues in their language. I knew this because after she would speak they would look up at me and laugh. I was really shocked as I did not do anything to provoc this behaviour, from the start I was very kind and polite I told them what I wanted and sat quietly. I didn't notice other people being treated this way but from the other reviews on here I know it happens often. I spent over £50 in this shop and left there feeling so angry at myself for not saying anything to the lady who was so rude to me. As she started my full set of acrylic nails she asked me whether I wanted them in a round shape or square and I clearly said round to her, five minutes later she gave me a square nail and I said straight away 'I'm sorry I said round please' and she shouted 'you told me square!' I said 'no I didn't I said round, sorry?' I was really confused why she was so angry as she had only just started one nail and it would take two minutes to change. Since this moment of me asking for a round nail shape she even more rude, spoke about me to her colleagues 10 times more and was constantly slapping my hands around in an angry manner. I then moved my hands away from her and said is something wrong? She just ignored me and took my hands back and carried on with my nails. I sat there for nearly an hour awkwardly and really upset at her behaviour towards me wondering what her problem is. When my nails were done she just told me to sit over at the side and wait for them to dry. I am never ever returning to Amy's nails again and I have advised all my friends not to go. It's not worth the bother of being treated like you're an animal, in fact even animals get better treatment. I have never seen such uneducated and rude staff in my life. I can't tell you how much I dislike this place. The staff need to go on training course to gain basic communication skills.
Went with my friend on Thursday as I had been given a voucher for £15, never used the salon before and decided to get shellac as going away on the weekend. Usually I go to a salon closer to home but since I only needed to pay £5 towards it I thought I’d give them a go. However, the nails only lasted until Saturday! 2 days before they began to peel and I lost 3. My usual shellac salon manicure can last up to 2 weeks before a chip! I couldn’t go back as I was on holiday but don’t think I’ll even bother. I am sure if I went back they would correct them but I haven’t given them the chance. It was cheap at £20 but I would have been much angrier if I had paid he full amount for 2 days wear.
Well i can honestly say I am tho most fussiest person ever and I thought my acrylics were done lovely compared to many other places - the acrylic was laid thinly which was nice ( as it's usually thick elsewhere) the lady who did mine was called Helen and she was so precise and lovely to talk to - so now I call and request for her only yes it's more price my than other nail bars but I'm happy so far however my pedicure was rubbish there other than that's she did good job! The owner is a bit rude but u just Gotta be polite to her and I'm sure she be polite to u X
Very bad quality, did my nails incredibly thick and had to get them done elsewhere. Assumed I wanted shellac nails and demanded extra money when I never once mentioned shellac. Needs to label the nail varnishes on the wall on what is shellac nail varnishes and what is not, instead of instructing customers to pick a colour off the wall and then accusing the customer of ‘knowing what they were doing’ when instead they should just pay more attention. Very poor customer service.
