Quick Facts About AZ International Marketplace
AZ International Marketplace, also known as Asian Market, is an international grocery store located in Arizona. While it is known for its wide range of Asian food options, the store has received mixed reviews from customers. In this analysis, we will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of AZ International Marketplace based on the comments provided.
One of the main strengths mentioned by customers is the variety of Asian selections available. Many customers appreciate the diverse range of products that can be found in the store. This makes it a convenient one-stop-shop for individuals looking for specific Asian ingredients or products that may be difficult to find elsewhere. The store's focus on Asian food items is seen as a positive aspect, particularly by customers who prefer Asian cuisine.
Another strength highlighted by a customer is the quality of the food from the vendors. The commenter mentions that the food is authentic and delicious. This indicates that the store has managed to maintain good relationships with its vendors and provide customers with high-quality products.
Despite these strengths, there are several weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One common complaint is the high prices of the food. Some customers have compared the prices at AZ International Marketplace to other stores and found that the same items are much cheaper elsewhere. This suggests that the store may be overcharging for certain products, which can discourage customers from frequenting the store.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the poor management of the store during events. One customer describes a negative experience during an event where long lines prevented them from enjoying the entertainment. The lack of seating near the stage and inadequate preparation for rain is also mentioned. These issues indicate a lack of proper planning and organization on the part of the store management, which can negatively impact customer experience.
Another weakness pointed out by a customer is the poor customer service they received. The commenter mentions a missing avocado, which they believe was left at the store. However, when they contacted the store, they were not provided with the assistance they expected. This reflects a lack of attention to customer complaints and a failure to resolve issues satisfactorily.
Additionally, several customers have criticized the store's cleanliness and maintenance. Complaints regarding dirty and moldy produce, as well as general disrepair in the store, suggest a lack of attention to cleanliness and sanitation. One customer even mentioned witnessing employees not washing their hands, which is a major health concern. These observations raise questions about the store's commitment to providing a clean and safe environment for customers.
Furthermore, there have been complaints about the lack of options, lower prices, and store presentation in comparison to other similar stores like Mekong or H-mart. This indicates that the store may be falling behind in terms of competing with other Asian markets in the area.
Lastly, a customer raises concerns about feeling uncomfortable and unsafe due to employees following them and the perception of racial stereotypes. Such experiences can significantly impact a customer's perception of the store and discourage them from returning.
In conclusion, while AZ International Marketplace offers a variety of Asian selections and authentic food from vendors, it also faces several weaknesses. Issues with high prices, poor event management, inadequate customer service, cleanliness, and maintenance problems, competition from other stores, and uncomfortable experiences reported by customers are all areas that need improvement. Addressing these weaknesses will be crucial for AZ International Marketplace to enhance the overall customer experience and regain customer trust and loyalty.

I don't come here a lot, but the times I have visited this location it seems like the food is very expensive. Now, being imported you'd expect a premium added to the cost, but some of the items that I can find in other stores is MUCH chapter for the same thing. As such, I don't come here very much (I'm also not interested in British and South African items, and this international market is far more Asian focused).
It was a bad experience in regards to how it became so inconvenient for my family and friends. We lined up for food for 3.5 hours and didn't get the chance to watch the local talents on stage because most people were stuck lining up to get their dinner. There's too much people than vendors. The tables and chairs should have placed closed to the stage so people will sit instead of standing and gathering and covering the stage which other people and people on wheelchair couldn't see it.
It wasn't designed or prepared for rain where people can go so bring umbrella or check the weather forecast prior to going. We all feel that we paid $10 admission fee for each person just to line up for food and didn't get our food till 9pm. It was packed and not much room to move around. The food from vendors are really good and authentic. Be prepared to pay for $12 drink or $8 drink or bring your own water. We all went home with tired feet and did not enjoy the event and could have waited another time to get Filipino food directly to the restaurant.
I normally give positive reviews. But I just couldn’t take the HORRIBLE SERVICE at this place. I shopped at this store today and came home with a missing Avocado. I checked the receipt making sure I wasn’t charged but sadly, I was. I called the store. I spoke to a guy, I told him to check on the cashier FIVE AM C. I was sure that the avocado was left at the store as I checked the bags and my car. Then she laid & said I bagged my stuff. I never really bag my stuff at this place.
The blue plastic bag at this store is inside next to the cashier, logically too far to grab. Why Lie? It’s only avocado. I’m glad this happen as it forced me to never come back here again.
Their produce are DIRTY, MOLDY AND THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!!
GO TO ASIANA MARKET INSTEAD!
Normally about 2% to 5% of the veggies and fruits are rotten, and normally the ones I am actually interested in buying are about 10% to 35% rotten, I just try to sift through for the reasonable ones. Today I noticed something that has been there for the longest time but finally got tired of it enough to leave a review as they can't seem to address it without being put on the spot. The whole shelf is moldy but I took some close shots. As you can see on the shelves and signs that there is mold everywhere. As the water sprays around on the veggies, it mixes in with this mold and drips down to the veggies, they need to get this health safety issue. The next time I come in and see this, I will directly be reporting this as a health code violation. For shoppers, please be aware and choose carefully, for the seller, get yourselves sorted out. This is very unsafe.
Great for a variety of Asian selections but I do feel like Mekong or H-mart have more options, lower prices, and a better store presentation. However, the cashier I had was super friendly and pleasant. If everyone there is a great as she her, recommend going more often. :)
I’ve been here a few times, usually picking something up after a meal around the area. I would say in terms of options and variety, you will typically find what you need here. But wow, the quality of this place is POOR. Whoever owns or manages this place needs to give it a major revamp. It just feels awkward and empty in there, especially what they call their “food court” area. The lighting makes you feel depressed, the floors look like they’ve been around since the prehistoric ages, cracks everywhere with an occasional duct-tape fix up, the produce are all on its last day of freshness, fish market area is horribly maintained, and sometimes they carry expired products (like, over a year!). If you bring this to their attention, they kind of just shrug it off. They also refused to honor their coupon that was well within its use-by date, which was my final straw.
What kind of butcher that refuses to cut pork belly into slices? Doesn't make sense to me. He said he's the only and is busy. We looked around, we were the only ones buying meat. Nobody else was there at the time. Just pure laziness and bad service.
Only come here to use their restroom when I drop by the dispo, everytime I come here some creepy Asian man is following me I was expecting someone to shout "hurry up and buy!!!" I wouldn't buy anything edible here I've seen some of their employees not washing their hands ????
