Quick Facts About Big Four Barber Shop

Big Four Barber Shop is a place that receives mixed reviews based on the comments provided. In order to provide a comprehensive analysis of its strengths and weaknesses, it is necessary to examine each comment individually and evaluate the key aspects that contribute to the overall customer experience.
One major strength highlighted in the comments is the welcoming and friendly atmosphere of the barber shop. Customers appreciate the personalized service and the effort made by the staff to ensure a comfortable experience. The fact that the staff makes an extra effort to make customers feel welcome and accommodated is praised and is indicative of good customer service.
Another key strength is the affordability of the haircuts. Many customers comment on the reasonable prices, with haircuts ranging from $12 to $15. This affordability makes the barber shop accessible to a wide range of customers and demonstrates that customers are getting good value for their money.
Additionally, the skill and expertise of the barbers are highlighted as a strength. Many customers mention that they have been getting haircuts at Big Four Barber Shop for years and have always been satisfied with the results. The barbers are commended for being able to give a clean and professional haircut that grows out nicely.
Furthermore, the sense of community and familiarity contributes to the positive experience at Big Four Barber Shop. Customers appreciate the fact that it is a family-owned business, with a father and son team running the place. This gives the barber shop a nostalgic and old-school appeal, which resonates with customers who value tradition and a sense of belonging.
On the other hand, there are a few weaknesses that are highlighted in the comments. One significant weakness is the negative attitude and unprofessionalism exhibited by one of the barbers. One customer recounts a negative experience where the barber engaged in conversation about how much he hated his own spouse and tried to imply that the customer should feel the same. This type of behavior is unacceptable and can create a hostile and uncomfortable environment for customers.
Another weakness mentioned is regarding the quality of the "straight razor shave service." One customer comments that the shave provided was subpar and could be easily achieved at home with minimal effort. This suggests that the barber shop may not excel in all services they offer and may need to improve in certain areas.
In summary, Big Four Barber Shop has several strengths that contribute to its appeal. The friendly and welcoming atmosphere, affordable prices, skillful barbers, and sense of community are all factors that attract and retain customers. However, the negative attitude and unprofessionalism of one barber, as well as the subpar quality of certain services, are weaknesses that need to be addressed in order to ensure a consistently positive customer experience.

I like the fact that every time my husband goes here for a haircut, they always ask if they can trim up his eyebrows. :) He ignored my asking, but since a man has asked him, he gets them groomed! LoL
Top notch guys , they are family owned, 15 dollars for ap good cut!)
I've been taking my 8 year old to this barber shop for a few years. He absolutely loves it there. They make him feel welcome and always do everything they can to obtain the perfect cut for the individual. Will continue our business there for sure.
Extremely nice barber shop with friendly staff. No wait in the morning, right off the street, with a nice price: cuts $12 and beard trim $6. They have vacuums attached to their cutters so this was the first time ever I didn't need a shower after getting a hair cut! Very efficient and fast. I highly recommend Bug Four to all you guys!!
Growing up, my dad would always take me here. As I grew up, I started checking out other shops in Columbia. Even the shops that cost 3 times as much. I recently stopped by Big 4 while in town. The conversations and atmosphere hasn’t changed a bit and that alone is worth the price for a haircut. It feels like getting a haircut from an old buddy and you can’t replace that anywhere.
For the haircut itself: I got a more basic cut. (Shorter on the sides, longer on top) I’ve gotten nothing but compliments on how well they cut it and how well it’s growing out. Even more compliments than I got from expensive shops that cost 3x as much (and lack the atmosphere and conversations). If you want a clean, professional haircut that will grow out nicely with a side of great conversations (maybe a few fish tales thrown in) Big 4 is the place to go.
This is my favorite barber shop ever. Father and son team, the atmosphere is old school and welcoming. Extremely low prices. Great barbershop experience
I went there with my husband to wait while he got a cut. The barber continuously tried to engage in conversation about how much he specifically hated his own spouse, and repeatedly tried to imply that he should hate his own as well.
He gave multiple backhanded insults to both of us, when my husband asked for hairstyling advice to achieve a specific celebrity inspired style the barber mocked him for asking.
It was an extremely unpleasant and sexist experience, overall almost entirely due to the attitude of staff, customer service, and hatefulness.
The "straight razor shave service" was a dry disposable razor and a greater shave is achieved with no effort from home.
Great guys! A father and son own and operate the place. I have been going there for 12 years and not had a bad haircut. Old school family barbershop at it's finest.
