Quick Facts About Boeving Barber Shop
Boeving Barber Shop has received a mix of positive and negative comments, which will be taken into consideration when evaluating its strengths and weaknesses.
Starting with the strengths, one comment praises the shop for its welcoming atmosphere and the barbers' ability to create a friendly environment by sharing laughs with customers. This indicates that the barbers prioritize making customers feel comfortable, which enhances the overall experience. Another comment highlights the barbers' expertise in handling beards and mustaches, which can be difficult to find. This demonstrates that they have specialized skills, giving them an advantage over other barbershops in the area. Additionally, a customer mentions that John Boeving, one of the barbers at the 1020 East Main location, is excellent and has consistently provided great haircuts, recommending him highly. This suggests that the shop has skilled and reliable barbers who consistently deliver quality services to their clients.
Moving on to the weaknesses, there is a negative review recounting a traumatic experience that a customer had with Boeving Barber Shop. The customer shares a story from their high school years, where they received a bowl cut instead of the desired medium fade. This resulted in them being bullied and ultimately having to shave their own hair off. This negative experience could be seen as a weakness for the shop, as it affected the customer's perception and created a lasting negative impression. Furthermore, the customer advises others not to give their hard-earned money to this business unless they are prepared for the consequences. This review could discourage potential customers from choosing Boeving Barber Shop, potentially affecting the shop's reputation and customer base. This negative review is strong evidence for one of the shop's weaknesses.
In contrast to the negative review, there are multiple positive comments highlighting the skill and expertise of the barbers. One customer states that they always go to Boeving Barber Shop when they want to look extra sharp, implying that the barbers consistently provide high-quality haircuts. Another comment emphasizes that the barbers are among the best on the East side. These positive reviews indicate that the barber shop has a strong reputation for delivering excellent haircuts and grooming services. Additionally, one customer mentions that they have been going to Boeving Barber Shop for three years and have always received great haircuts, beard trims, and shaves. This loyalty and long-term satisfaction demonstrate that the shop has a track record of providing consistent quality services, which is a significant strength.
A positive review specifically mentions the friendly atmosphere of the barber shop, comparing it to the TV show "Cheers." This indicates that the shop has created a welcoming and personable environment, where customers feel comfortable bringing their children. The customer mentions that the barber was great with their two-year-old son and provided an immaculate cut. This demonstrates that the shop caters to customers of all ages and has the ability to handle different hair types and styles.
In conclusion, Boeving Barber Shop has both strengths and weaknesses. The strengths include the welcoming atmosphere, the barbers' ability to handle facial hair, the reputation of some barbers (such as John Boeving) for consistent excellent haircuts, and positive feedback regarding their expertise. However, the shop also has weaknesses, with a negative review recounting a traumatic experience and advising customers against choosing this business. It is essential for the management of Boeving Barber Shop to address any shortcomings highlighted in the negative reviews, in order to continue building a positive reputation and providing high-quality services to their customers.
Best TL Reviews
This is a great little place to come for a haircut. No appt needed but you have to have cash on hand so be aware of that. Barbers actually know how to handle a beard and moustache which is hard to find.
Two brothers that make you welcome and always share a laugh with their customers.
Excellent Barbers as well!
There are 2 Boeving Barber Shops. One is at 513 East Main and the other is on 1020 East Main. I am reviewing the one on 1020 East Main in Belleville. The Barber there is John Boeving. John Boving is an excellent Barber and has always given me a great haircut. I highly recommend him.
Once, long ago I had received the worst haircut of my life. Little did I know that it would traumatize me through adulthood.
I was a young freshman in high school, pubescent and filled with vigor for life. The first day back from summer vacation was approaching and I had yet to cut my overgrown hairdo from the months previous. My parents had usually trimmed my hair but this time I wanted it to be special for my first day in high-school. Since both of my parents were out on a business trip and I had yet to receive my Illinois drivers license, it was only feasible to walk to my destination. Thankfully, yet dreadfully, there was a barbershop in walking distance from my Victorian styled home. I walked there with almost a hop with excitement...
Upon entering the establishment, I was greeted with many older gentlemen who seemed cordial. An ominous undertone brewed from the massive age difference between customer and employee. Yet, I ignored this fact and pushed on, excited for a great haircut.
I asked the older man that I wanted a medium fade with 1/4 of an inch off the top. A usual requirement that I would ask of my parents when they cut my hair previously. This time, I was ecstatic to receive a professional haircut from people prime in their profession.
To shorten this review and give you my experience I will spare you of the details.
I received a bowl cut like that of William Byers from "stranger things." A haircut that has been years out of style but familiar to those older gentlemen. Since my parents were out of town for my first day of high school, I had walked into Belleville East with that monstrosity. I.. was bullied into oblivion... I went home that night, furious and disappointed in this barbershop's crime... I cut my own hair down to the scalp like a cancer patient...
Never, I repeat, never give this business your hard-earned money unless you are prepared for the consequences.
I wince in pain everytime I pass by this building.
Thank you.
It's been a few years since I've been here. I usually get a haircut at home. But when I need to have look extra sharp this is my go to shop. Both Jim and Bill are at the top of their game. As always great conversation along with great haircut.
Two of the best barbers on the East side.
Best haircuts anywhere!! These two guys are both top notch barbers. I have received many terrible haircuts and shaves around the metro area until I found my way into this barber shop on main street. I have gone to them for about three years now and have always recieved a great haircut. I've even received a few beard trims and a couple of shaves. My wife always approves of my haircuts from these barbers. If you want a great haircut and good conversation; I would suggest you get your next haircut from one of these gents!
I took my son to Boeving's Barber Shop yesterday for the first time. It is adorable, everything you'd expect from a small town barber shop-- a friendly atmosphere straight out of Cheers, with a personable and knowledgeable barber. The barber was great with my two year old and gave him an immaculate cut. We will absolutely be back!!
