Quick Facts About Bonita Dominican Style Beauty Salon

Bonita Dominican Style Beauty Salon, now known as On Point Dominican Hair Salon, has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the salon, we will analyze the feedback provided.
Starting with the strengths, several customers have praised the salon for its quick and proficient service. These customers appreciate the efficiency of the stylist team and the fact that they don't have to wait for extended periods of time. Quick and proficient service is a significant strength for any salon, as customers value their time and convenience.
Additionally, many customers have commented positively on the friendly and welcoming atmosphere of the salon. They appreciate the family-oriented and loving environment created by the staff, particularly Carmen and her crew. The friendly nature of the salon contributes to a positive customer experience and helps build long-term loyalty.
Another strength of the salon is the quality of the hairstyles. Multiple customers have mentioned that their hair lasts a long time and feels silky after a visit to the salon. This demonstrates the skill and expertise of the stylists, particularly Nina, who has been praised on multiple occasions.
Furthermore, the pricing at the salon has been described as amazing by one customer. Affordable pricing is an important aspect for many customers when choosing a salon, so offering competitive prices can be seen as a strength.
On the other hand, there are several weaknesses that have been pointed out by customers. One customer commented on the poor customer service provided by Carmen. The customer states that Carmen lacks conflict resolution skills and is dismissive of paying customers. This negative experience highlights a weakness in the overall customer service aspect of the salon.
Another weakness brought up by a different customer is the behavior of the shampoo lady. The customer mentions that she is always on the phone, neglects customers while talking, and doesn't engage with them properly. This lack of professionalism and poor customer experience is a weakness for the salon.
Furthermore, there is one comment about the salon's cleanliness. The customer claims that the salon is dirty with hair all over the floors and a bad smell. This comment suggests that the salon may not prioritize cleanliness, which can be a deterrent for some customers.
In addition, one customer expressed discomfort during the hair washing process. Although they eventually felt relaxed and satisfied with the result, the initial discomfort can be seen as a weakness in providing a comfortable and enjoyable salon experience.
Lastly, there is a comment about a missed opportunity for the salon to show good judgment, empathy, and respect towards a customer complaint. This reflects a lack of professionalism and a weakness in handling customer concerns and resolving conflicts effectively.
In conclusion, Bonita Dominican Style Beauty Salon, now known as On Point Dominican Hair Salon, has a number of strengths including quick and proficient service, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, high-quality hairstyles, and competitive pricing. However, there are some weaknesses in terms of customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and conflict resolution. By addressing these weaknesses, the salon can improve its overall customer experience and satisfaction.

I’ve been coming to Carmen and the Crew for 10 years and NEVER had a bad experience. They are family oriented, friendly, Loving, and ALWAYS aim to Please! I Love this salon. I will walk or drive any distance to get to this salon! You won’t be disappointed! Thanks for all You Do Carmen!!
The braid shop in this plaza is the worst I have ever gone to. The women are dirty looking. The place is dirty with a wall full of hair all over the floor, it smells really, really bad. And as for the braid job. Never ever again will I go again or recommend anyone. Stay away!!! I will.
I have been going to this shop for years and the service has always been outstanding. But now Mrs. Carmen is the owner and I love her. I will continue traveling from the Stockbridge area to get my hair done. Shout out to Carmen and the lovely staff.
I love this salon. everyone is very nice and welcoming! Nina is the absolute best, every time she does my hair it last a long time and it’s always soo silky.
Nina is the best! Every time she does my hair it’s silky at it last a long time.
Earlier this year, Bonita Dominican Beauty Salon was renamed to On point Dominican Hair Salon by Carmen. Carmen is still its owner and manager. Whatever you do, do not let Carmen speak to you any type of way. Her shop is in a predominately Black neighborhood and though stylists do a seamless job of straightening hair, they do a poor job of customer service.
The shampoo lady is always on the phone having full conversations with her girlfriends/family such that she will not only stop what she's doing to engage with them while your head is propped up in the bowl, but will make you wait while she completes her call on the salon floor. No, she does not speak English, but knows enough to get people in and out of the shampoo bowl into rollers, and under the dryer. Perhaps use the time to practice English well enough to engage with customers.
Despite being a business owner/stylist for a decade or more, Carmen lacks conflict resolution skills. She will dismiss a paying customer versus work to resolve a problem. Perhaps it's favoritism for the customers who are regulars seated in her chair versus those who come by periodically. Don't you just hate when a manager/owner laments that they're helping a customer when you're also a customer who they expect to pay for service AND also tip?
Here's a tip: By escalating a problem that could've easily been resolved in the store, or soon after, Carmen missed a massive opportunity to WIN business over an issue that demonstrated a lack of judgement, empathy, and respect.
The customer WAS right. The right thing to do was own the error apologize, and make amends.
It kinda hurt when the lady was washing my hair, because she was scratching my hair to get it clean, but after she finished, OMG! I felt so free and relaxed as I was getting my hair done. I think I feel asleep, my head felt so lite and good. I felt like I went to message therapy for my head.
