My hair came out very well. She provided the hair, i would ask if she provides colors if you are looking for that, I only got black. Paid $250 for waist length Senegalese twists which i thought was high (i normally pay less for the same style/length including hair, but im new to the area… maybe thats the norm down here?) She is also very nice and wants to make sure you like your hair and will make adjustments as requested. The 4 stars is not for the quality of the braids but the braider was 20 minutes late. Then my hair didnt get started until almost 10 when my appointment was at 9. A barber in the shop actually called her to let her know she had customers and she said she had almost forgotten about the appointments she made. I had to remind her twice about the style i wanted, she almost started box braid when I asked for the twists but i felt the need to say something right before she started and im glad i did. I had to ask several times for her to not braid so tight. I understand braids are supposed to be tight and i am a little tender-headed but my scalp was so swollen when i was done. I cant imagine how bad it would have hurt if i did not asked her to loosen up at the beginning, my hair is pretty strong but this is how traction alopecia and breakage happens. Shop is not horribly dirty but not super clean either, the bathroom smell after someone flushes permeates the shop so I didnt use it. Again the quality of the braids are great and customer service when braiding is attentive, just these side issues that makes the experience a 4.

The ladies at Braids by Fatou are all equally talented and accommodating to all and any braiding styles, and they are my go to for braiding. Every single style that I have requested them to do whether it was cornrows, knotless braids, or braided up-do’s I always gets tons of compliments, and refer others to them. The price point is nice, and they are efficient time wise. I am a loyal customer, as well as a continuing one.
