Quick Facts About California nails of knoxville

California Nails of Knoxville Place is a nail salon in Knoxville that has received both positive and negative comments from customers. In order to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of this salon, let's analyze the comments provided.
One of the positive comments mentioned that the salon did a great job on the fill-ins. This indicates that the staff is capable of providing quality services and satisfying the customers' needs in terms of nail fill-ins. Additionally, another customer praised the salon for fixing a previous issue from a different nail shop, highlighting their ability to rectify mistakes and deliver good results.
However, several customers expressed concerns about the pricing at California Nails of Knoxville Place. A customer mentioned that they were charged $45 for fill-ins, which they felt was expensive compared to other nail salons in the area. Additionally, another customer pointed out that the salon charged $20 just for gel polish, which they believed was excessive as other salons typically charge $10. These comments highlight a weakness in the salon's pricing strategy, as customers feel that they are being overcharged compared to other establishments in the area.
Another weakness highlighted in the comments is the poor experience some customers had with the service and the quality of the nail work. One customer mentioned that their nails were done quickly and carelessly, resulting in an uneven and clumpy gel application. They also mentioned experiencing pain and burning during the process, indicating a lack of care and attention from the staff. Another customer complained about the thickness of their nails and the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff when asked to fix the issues. These comments suggest a weakness in the salon's ability to provide high-quality and meticulous nail services, which ultimately resulted in customer dissatisfaction.
Furthermore, a customer mentioned concerns regarding the overall cleanliness and hygiene practices of the salon. They noted that the salon reused old files and buffs and used a dirty brush to dust off their hands and other customers' hands. This indicates a weakness in the salon's cleanliness standards, which poses a risk to customers' health and safety.
On the positive side, there were a couple of comments praising the salon's ability to provide long-lasting dip polish or acrylics. This suggests that the salon may have expertise in these specific services, catering to customers with specialized needs such as someone who works with horses professionally.
Another positive comment mentioned that the salon takes its time and works towards perfect sizing and shaping, without forcing customers into purchasing more expensive options. This indicates that the salon values customer preferences and does not engage in pushy sales tactics, which can be seen as a strength in terms of customer service and satisfaction.
In summary, California Nails of Knoxville Place has strengths in terms of its ability to provide fill-in services and fix issues from other salons. However, weaknesses are evident in their pricing strategy, lack of attention to detail, cleanliness standards, and professionalism. It is important for the salon to address these weaknesses in order to improve customer satisfaction and retain their clientele.

Best TL Reviews

Went this past Wednesday night Aug 3, 2022 because I needed fill-ins. The lady did a great job but I am still trying to figure out why I got charged $45 for fill-ins!!! This is the same price they charged me a few weeks ago for removal of old nails and a full new set!!! I won't be going back if that's going to be how it is. Sad bc they do a great job, but there are other places that do too and they charge $32. I have been to at least six or seven other nail salons in Knoxville and I have never been charged anymore than $35 for fill-ins.
Update: the owner replied that fill-ins with gel are $45, and regular fill-ins are $25. Well the $25 for regular fill-ins is normal and everything but I don't know of any other nail salon in this area or surrounding counties that charges $20 just for gel polish.. almost every single salon only charges $10 for gel polish, hence my earlier statements that I've never paid any more than $35 for feelings but gel polish anywhere else and I've been to multiple upon multiple nail salons in this area. I could go to the and buy the whole bottle and top coat for less than $20. So I guess I just won't be returning to California Nails and they have lost a customer.
Kinda what you expect with a mall nail salon. It was painful: the guy cut/tore and then painted my skin (which burned under the lamp- probably a chemical burn).. and the gel is uneven and clumpy (from being done so quickly and carelessly). I guess there’s a reason it’s always empty… no offense but men really do the worst jobs painting nails. I’m requesting a woman next time. At least it looks better from far away ????????‍♀️
-The pictures were after I was able to wash off the extra polish on my skin and the broken skin is all from the guy cutting, filing, and burning it.. it still hurts-
Please do better. We are people too, no one deserves cuts and burns just because you are in a rush and don’t respect the clients.
My daughter and I both got our nails done. I did a regular mani and pedi with gel polish and she had dip with tips. Both looked absolutely awful!!
My gel nails were so thick it was touching the skin and literally peeled off within a week.
My daughter’s dip and tips were also extremely thick looking and so amateur!! Were these ladies in training or something!?!
When I pointed out how thick it was and how the gel polish was over my skin on multiple nails the lady just shrugged. When I asked her to fix it she took nail clippers and began cutting my skin!!! Like WHAT!! lol
No way we would ever go back- especially since there are so many better places in Knoxville
I would not get my nails done there for free- AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Phong did a great job of fixing something from another nail shop did and fill in. I appreciate it!
I ride horses professionally and this is the only place that can give me a lasting dip polish or acrylics.
Everywhere else I’ve been my nails get ripped off the first day in the barn
I’ve been here twice now, they did a good job on my nails, but I’ve never in my life been so overcharged for a fill-in. The original full set cost me $60, it actually was supposed to be $55 because I asked for the cost of an acrylic full set with gel and was leaving because it was a little too much for me but the guy tried to work with me and told me he would only charge me $55. He gets done and the woman up front charges me $60 even though I told her the guy who just did my nails had told me it was $55, she didn’t care that an employee already gave me a set price, she should’ve honored that. Then today I came back for a fill-in, I didn’t even ask the cost because it has never cost over $30 at any other salon I’ve been to in my life, gel or not. I was shocked when I was told they were charging me $50, that makes no sense to charge almost the same as the full set. I thought I finally found my forever salon because I was so happy with how my nails looked, I drive over an hour to come to the mall and would’ve made the drive anytime it was time to get my nails done again but the wishy washy pricing and ridiculous overcharging is just horrible business. Apparently from other reviews I’m not the only one y’all have ripped off on fill-ins and y’all actually charged me $5 more than that lady. I know it’s your business and you set the prices but everyone would agree that fill ins should not cost nearly the same price for a full set. Just because it’s gel doesn’t mean you should upcharge $20+
On top of that, they used the same exact old worn down files and buffs they used on me 3 weeks ago, they dusted my hands off with the same dirty brush they use to dust the table tops off and everybody else’s hands. Thats just asking for a customer to get staff infection. They completely skip the part where they’re supposed to push back your cuticles before they start putting on tips and acrylic, then cuticle oil when your nails are finished, takes just 30 seconds to do but many salons skip those parts to rush you out of there and get the next person in the chair, and that’s just lazy. I’m sure the owner will reply that to push the cuticles back costs $5 or something but I don’t care for a reply, I don’t want an explanation or excuse. This is just my honest review about this salons pricing, cleanliness, & effort.
This is one ot my favorite places in knoxville. They're friendly, take their time, work hard towards perfect sizing and shape, they don't intrude or try to get you to buy pricier options. The atmosphere is quiet and clean. I got my nails reshaped and refilled from a coffin shape I had previously gotten here as well. I switched to an almond shape and I love it just as much
I will not go back nor recommend for anyone to go! My experience with them was poor business! I didn’t have a problem with the fact the nails came off, because those things just happen sometimes. The problem I had was she charged me $20 for the others to be replaced! My daughter had them done one week before prom, 5 came off and one had lifted in less than a week! I explained my daughter has prom the next day and we live an hour away and didn’t want to take the chance of the other 4 to come off! She charged me anyway. To me, that’s poor business to charge a customer that already paid over $100 for their services, added a tip on top of that and then charged an additional $20!! (All within 6 days) We are talking about 6 out of 10 nails to come off in less than a week! I have dealt with many nail salons that would have volunteered a full set in this circumstance. If only one nail fell off, I typically just wait until time for my next appointment when time to purchase another set. This however was a complete different circumstance!!
