Quick Facts About Daigo

Daigo Place is a sushi restaurant located in Palo Alto, and based on the comments above, it has several strengths and weaknesses.
One of the strengths of Daigo Place is the quality of its sushi. Multiple comments mention that the sushi is delicious and the fish is fresh. Customers particularly enjoy the special fishes and nigiri pieces, praising their tenderness and flavor. The sushi chefs are also noted for their talent and skill in creating high-quality sushi. Additionally, the restaurant offers omakase, which is the chef's recommendation, allowing customers to experience a variety of sushi dishes curated by the chef.
Another strength of Daigo Place is the friendly staff and fast service. Customers appreciate the welcoming and nice atmosphere, even when they did not have a reservation. The staff is described as friendly, and multiple comments mention the quick service.
The ambience of Daigo Place is also seen as a strength. The restaurant offers both outdoor and indoor seating options. Customers mention that the outdoor seating is protected against wind and has heat lamps for warmth, providing a comfortable dining experience.
Parking is considered easy and free in a nearby public garage, which is another strength of the restaurant. This makes it convenient for customers to visit without having to worry about finding parking.
In terms of weaknesses, one comment mentions that Daigo Place does not have a website, which can make it difficult for customers to find information about the restaurant and make reservations. However, the comment also notes that the restaurant is reachable via phone or chat for reservations, which alleviates this issue.
Another weakness mentioned is that the seating in Daigo Place is limited. One comment notes that the restaurant is small and has limited seating, which means that customers have to make a reservation to secure a spot. This could be inconvenient for customers who prefer to walk in without prior planning or for larger groups who may struggle to find seating together.
Price is also mentioned as a weakness by one comment. The comment states that the price for the nigiri in the dinner set is quite high for only one piece per order. The customer also mentions a preference for a higher fish to rice ratio. This suggests that the portion sizes may be smaller or less satisfying for some customers.
Overall, Daigo Place appears to have strong points in terms of the quality of its sushi, friendly staff, fast service, comfortable ambience, and convenient parking. However, its weaknesses lie in the limited seating, lack of a website, and potentially higher prices and smaller portion sizes. Despite these weaknesses, the positive comments about the sushi and dining experience in general indicate that Daigo Place is generally well-regarded by its customers.

Sehr. Klein aber ausgezeichnet
Daigo is such an amazing place! The sushi is so delicious! Everything is super fresh. We simply could not stop ordering, and everything was so incredibly delicious. You do have to make a reservation though. They do not take walk-ins, the place is small with limited seating.
Good sushi dinner tucked away on Cal Ave. We especially enjoyed the two special fishes; the mackerel was well marinated in a vinegar to lessen the intensity of the fish flavor and the white fish was delicate and firm in texture. The nigiri in the dinner set were pretty basic, I felt the price was quite high for one piece per order as opposed to two. Fish to rice ratio on the lower side, personally I prefer higher. I'd probably skip the appetizers and sets next time.
A curious sushi spot tucked in an alleyway in Palo Alto. Delicious sushi and great sake selections ????. My favorite is the sweet uni from Japan that melts in your mouth. They don't have a website but they are reachable via phone or chat for reservations. Very friendly staff. Also green tea ice cream is a must try.
No complains! Sushi tastes amazing, friendly staff and super fast services.
You have to have a reservation! Went in without one and everyone was welcoming and nice. I have no idea what I ordered but everything was good ????
One of the best sushi restaurants in the bay!
My friends and I made an outdoor reservation for a small celebration. It was a little cold, but the space offered protection against the wind and heat lamps for warmth.
Daigo offers fresh sashimi with changing daily specials. We ordered omakase (chef's recommendation) and fell in love with the restaurant at first bite! The tenderness and flavor of each nigiri piece were amazing. We asked our server what his favorite fishes were, and we ordered them if they were not already included in the omakase. Absolutely amazing recommendations!
Parking was easy and free in a nearby public garage.
110% would recommend anyone with a sushi addiction!
Wow, Daigo is most definitely one of my absolutely favorite sushi restaurants ever. The quality of fish is extraordinarily fresh & the sushi chefs are extremely talented. My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate our one year anniversary and Daigo did not disappoint! We started off with the hamachi shooters and they were so delicious! We then ordered the 12 piece Omakase platter and man... it was some of the best fish I've ever eaten in my life. We will definitely be back for our next special occasion ????
Excellent, small sushi place with outdoor and indoor seating. Call to make a reservation as it tends to be booked up quickly. Had option for gluten free soy sauce and can accommodate allergens, although some dishes can't be fully celiac friendly. Omakase sushi options, rolls, handrolls, Nigri and sashimi available and delicious. Good selection of sake too. Super sushi restaurant.
