2. Lack of attention to customer requests: Another customer mentioned that their requests were not properly listened to, resulting in a haircut that was not what they had asked for. This indicates a lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
3. Time-consuming service: A customer mentioned that their short haircut took 1.5 hours to complete. This suggests that there might be efficiency issues in the barbershop, potentially leading to longer wait times for customers.
4. Cash-only payment: One customer noted that the barbershop only accepts cash for payment. While this might not be a significant issue for most customers, it can be inconvenient for those who prefer to pay using other methods such as credit cards or digital payment platforms.
5. Sanitation concerns: One customer mentioned that the tools appeared to be disorganized and not properly sanitized. Sanitation is a crucial aspect of any barber shop, and failure to meet proper protocols can raise concerns about hygiene and customer safety.
Based on the comments provided, Decatur Barbershop has both strengths and weaknesses. Their long-standing presence in the community, range of services, and friendly staff are positive attributes. However, issues with haircut quality, attention to customer requests, efficiency, payment methods, and sanitation should be addressed in order to enhance the overall customer experience and maintain a positive reputation.

I was on vacation in New Orleans and needed a haircut. This is an old school barber shop. They were in business around the corner for 32 years. Move to this new location about 4 years ago. While there I got a haircut and the manicure at the same time. After that I got a hot shave. Had a great conversation with the manicurist Sheila and the barber Carl. Felt good and look good after I walked out of that place. Ready for a night out. For everything it was $75.
Older gentleman cut my hair, and I was excited as I thought it equated to experience. He finished my hair twice and there were such deep lines in my fade I had to sit back down and ask to be faded. I think he’s just never done a fade in his life. I just got to my hotel, and there are chunks of hair popping out of the side of head. He had the audacity to charge me $30 for a side clean up without touching the top of my head. Now I have to go to another barbershop to get it fixed.
Sharon is awesome.
Great with tourists and local businessman.
Easy going like everyone from down here.
Great with my daughter
And they also validate for parking
Trust them every two weeks for your hair doo!
Not a great cut. Older guy on booth on the right who owns the shop missed spots when doing a simple one length short buzz cut and got into trimming one side of my beard without me asking, had to quickly tell him to stop. Tools were sitting all mixed up in a drawer, nothing seemed to be sanitized. Charged $30, cash only, for the experience.
I travel to NOLA a couple of times a month for business. I didn't have time to get a haircut before I left for this trip. Stopped by the Decatur Barbershop and was highly impressed. I might just wait until I get to NOLA for a haircut from now on.
Very friendly, clean and neat station.Giod at what she does..
I am from New Jersey and went to this place to get a shape up. The gentleman were very nice and he did an excellent job. Definitely recommend if you are a tourist to come here if you need a nice cut.
This shop is very clean and the owner seemed very nice. Everyone was friendly. However, my haircut took 1.5 hours for a short haircut and it was not what I asked for. The barber, John, cut it way too short and didn't listen to my requests. I basically spent $30 and 1.5 hours to get a buzz cut. Very disappointing. I would have a hard time recommending this shop after my experience, even though it seemed like a nice place.
