Quick Facts About Dominican Hair Salon
The strengths and weaknesses of the Dominican Hair Salon can be analyzed based on the comments provided.
Strengths:
1. Boys haircuts: According to one comment, the boys' haircuts at the salon are okay. This implies that the salon may have skilled stylists who are capable of delivering satisfactory results for a specific type of service.
2. Accommodating and friendly: A customer mentioned that the staff at the salon were accommodating, nice, and provided great conversation. This shows that the salon prioritizes customer service and strives to create a pleasant experience for their clients.
3. Skillful hairstyling: One comment praised the salon for giving the customer the exact hair style they desired. This indicates that the salon has talented hairstylists who can execute specific and desired hairstyles effectively.
4. Competitive pricing: A customer mentioned that they received a variety of services including bleaching, coloring, blow-drying, flat ironing, and haircutting for a low price. This suggests that the salon provides services at affordable rates, which can be a draw for customers seeking value for money.
Weaknesses:
1. Language barrier: One comment highlights the need for a translator at the salon. This suggests that the salon primarily caters to Spanish-speaking clientele and struggles to effectively communicate with English-speaking customers. This language barrier can hinder smooth and accurate communication regarding the desired services, leading to potential misunderstandings and dissatisfaction.
2. Heat damage and hair loss: A customer expressed dissatisfaction with the salon, claiming that they experienced heat damage and hair loss after a wash and blow-dry service. This indicates that the salon may lack proper training or technique when using heat-styling tools, potentially leading to detrimental effects on the customers' hair.
3. Unauthorized product use: A comment reveals that the salon uses relaxers in their products without informing the customers. This lack of transparency can lead to unwanted results, such as permanent hair straightening and hair loss, which can significantly affect the overall satisfaction of the customers.
4. Poor customer service: Several comments point to poor customer service at the salon. Customers mentioned being ignored, not being greeted or approached, and feeling a negative and unfriendly ambiance. This indicates a lack of professionalism and a disregard for making customers feel welcomed and valued.
5. Run-down appearance: One comment describes the salon as small, run-down, and dirty with a weird smell. This suggests that the physical environment of the salon is not well-maintained, which can create a negative impression and deter potential customers from visiting.
In conclusion, the strengths of the Dominican Hair Salon include satisfactory boys haircuts, accommodating and friendly staff, skillful hairstyling, and competitive pricing. On the other hand, the weaknesses include a language barrier, heat damage and hair loss, unauthorized product use, poor customer service, and a run-down appearance. These factors should be taken into consideration when evaluating the overall performance and reputation of the salon.

First of all they need a translator because I went in asking for a perm & cut they literally burned my hair, my hair was thick & beautiful !now,& it was hella expensive for Dead dry and. Not curly !
Boys haircuts are ok.
DO NOT come here!!! I came in for a wash and blow dry and the heat damage I sustained is unreal. My hair is falling out in clumps. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else. The price is not worth it!!
They PUT RELAXER IN THEIR PRODUCTS AND DO NOT LET YOU KNOW!!! THERE ARE LITERAL HUNDREDS OF BLACK WOMEN WITH THE SAME STORY OF THEIR HAIR BEING PERMANENTLY STRAIGHT AND FALLING OUT AFTER GETTING THEIR HAIR DONE HERE
I made my appointment for a Friday at 1130am. Upon my arrival the salon was extremely loud with Spanish playing music. The location was very small and run down looking. I wasn’t greeted nor approached by welcoming staff. I walked to the back where there was only 1 woman doing hair. With 7 other woman sitting and waiting around. I greeted in English and was ignored until 1 lady offered to translate. Told her my name, and appointment time. I was told the person I spoke to and made appointment with would arrive shortly. It’s 12:10pm and I’m still waiting with no service. When I inquired again to check ETA of person I scheduled appointment with I was told she is coming. I was asked what I wanted done. When I told them wash, set and to be careful with my hand tied Brazilian extensions I was told someone would be here. Sat for another 10 mins with no arrival. I sat away from the crowd due to Clovid 19 precautions when I separated myself the group of ladies started to speak Spanish and laugh. Can’t say for sure whether or not they were mocking me but the uncertainty and ambiance was super negative and not friendly at all. This place is run down, poor service, and only attracts one type of crowd. I was recommended to the place for the service not the look of place as I have to say what a poor Referal on behalf of the person who recommended I come to this salon. Would never attempt this place again.
As someone who just moved from NYC I was in desperate need of a good hair salon to dye my hair. Nothing crazy I just wanted something new and fresh for spring. Not only were the accommodating ( multiple trips to the bathroom because I’m pregnant) they were nice and gave great conversation. I was able to bleach, color, blow dry, flat iron and cut my hair for a low price. My hair is usually a 3C when natural and when they were done it was bone straight and flawless. There has been no damage to my curls since I washed my hair and the color hasn’t faded at all. It was botchy or rushed. I would definitely come here again and plan on making future trips to touch up my hair. Just for future reference go ahead to the salon a few days before in case you want to color so they can have what you want in stock. Totally understandable not everyone is coming to get blue hair during covid. I got red and loved it
The best salon I’ve been to after searching for someone who would give me the exact hair style I wanted hair stylist on point I’m very satisfied with my new hair style great price also thank you ladies feeling great.❤️
Looked up places to get braids for my son and this place came up. Figured it was close so my husband an di took him. Walked in and not one person greeted us or even acknowledged us. We took a seat and waited for someone to ask us what we were there for and instead we were completely ignored. One stylist was to busy eating a cup of noodles on the salon floor while the others all stood around. I made eye contact with a few of them but still no response. I work at a salon as a stylist and know how to treat a potential client. The place smelled kinda weird and was very run down and dirty. I would NOT recommend this place. No customer service at all
Honey my stylist didn't come to play.. she came to #Slay!!!
She straightened my hair like the Principal at weekend detention..
(I'm sorry I'm feeling myself rn, 1st time after covid of **finally** getting my hair done and these Ladies did an amazing job! ❤️)
