Quick Facts About Fortune Inn Chinese Restaurant
Fortune Inn Chinese Restaurant has a number of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one comment mentioned that the food was very tasty and there was a wide selection available. This indicates that the restaurant has good quality food and a diverse menu that can cater to different tastes. Another positive point was that the portions were generous, suggesting that customers feel they are getting value for their money. Additionally, the attentive staff and good overall service were mentioned, indicating that the restaurant has the potential to provide a positive dining experience.
However, there are several weaknesses that need to be addressed. One major issue raised in the comments was the poor service. Customers felt that the staff were slow, disinterested, and inattentive. They had to repeatedly call for basic items such as cutlery, napkins, and drink orders. This lack of attentiveness can greatly impact the overall dining experience and leave customers feeling frustrated.
Another weakness mentioned was the inconsistency in the quality of the food. While some customers found the food to be tasty, others found it to be tasteless and all very similar. This suggests that there may be a lack of attention to detail in the preparation and seasoning of the dishes. Additionally, random ingredients like roast potatoes in curries were seen as a negative aspect, indicating a lack of consistency in the recipes.
The comments also highlighted issues with the vegetarian options. One customer ordered vegetable spring rolls, but they were served on a sharing platter with a pork rib, which is not suitable for a vegetarian. This shows a lack of attention to dietary requirements and can make vegetarians feel neglected or disrespected.
Furthermore, there were complaints about the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant. The broken soap dispenser and empty hand pump in the ladies' restroom suggest a lack of attention to hygiene and customer comfort. This can greatly impact the overall impression of the restaurant.
Another major weakness mentioned was the rude and unprofessional behavior of a waitress or manager. Customers felt disrespected and unwelcome due to the rude behavior and lack of customer care from this staff member. This can greatly impact the reputation of the restaurant and deter potential customers from returning.
Lastly, there were complaints about the price of the food, with some customers feeling that it was slightly pricey. This suggests that there may be a disconnect between the perceived value of the food and the actual cost. This can be a deterrent for customers, especially if they feel that the quality and service does not justify the price.
To improve, Fortune Inn Chinese Restaurant should focus on addressing the issues with service, consistency in food quality, and attentiveness to dietary requirements. Staff training and customer service protocols should be implemented to ensure that customers feel valued and taken care of. Additionally, attention to cleanliness and maintenance should be a priority to create a pleasant environment for customers. Lastly, pricing should be reviewed to ensure that it is competitive and reflects the quality and service provided.

I felt the evening started well. I wasn't sure how it worked and we ordered our drinks and starters. I was really surprised how quickly the food arrived. Unfortunately my vegetable spring rolls were served on a sharing platter, basically my spring roll was resting on a pork rib! I ordered this because I am vegetarian. Another portion was ordered on its own plate. Then our "mains" arrived. This was nice to see the variety of colour and smells when our mains were served. It was a shame about the service I feel that they could have been more attentive. We had to keep calling over the waiter for cutlery, napkins and drink orders. I felt that most of our main curries were very gravy tasting, like a slodgy, salty mix up. There was random roast potatoes in some of our curries. Food was under average. The toilet was nicely decorated but the ladies soap dispenser was broken and the hand pump version provided was empty. A large group over 10 covers arrived and I knew we were going to lose the bare minimal service we were already receiving. We had to ask for bill multiple times and eventually we stood up and got ready to leave. After putting my coat on and approaching front of the shop I finally met a card machine. There is a mandatory service charge btw! The lady that took the payment could barely look me in the eye. There was no genuine interest in how our evening went. I would have thought this would have been a perfect opportunity to get to know your guest and thank them for their custom. She didn't say a bloody word. Not even thank you, but she did say Bye! Very rude and basic food.
We had a lovely meal all the food was very tasty. A wide selection of food and generous portions. Staff was attentive good overall service.
The service was slow, seemed disinterested. It wasnt a busy evening so was surprised though it looked like they were busy with take aways. I found the food was tasteless, and it tasted all very similar. The egg fried rice didn't taste nice nor did the Singapore spicy noodles. I thought the food was not of good or fair quality.
the food is great but sadly the waitress/manager is absolutely rude. no disregard at all she treats food on plates like they are frisbees! she comes across as angry and she is a liability not an asset at all. she makes dining there unpleasant like herself. if she is not happy doing this she might be better off doing something else otherwise you will not get any punters. she will lead to your eventual closure that is all. i would not bother going there if you want a good dining
Absolutely love it. I'm regular customer and recommend that for 1000%. Hard working team, lovely atmosphere and brilliant food. The best Chinese in Worthing!!!
Restaurant was pleasant not too busy, staff were polite and attentive. Food arrived quickly and was hot and tasted good apart from a massive piece of ginger in one dish which wasn't good at all! Slightly pricey but I would still go back as overall a good experience
Firstly the food was actually quite good which was surprising because the service was absolutely shocking, one waitress in particular was so rude she was slamming plates on the table, talking about us to her other colleagues,
We asked for what we wanted and they would bring it out expecting 1 portion to be shared with 4 people, we had asked several times that some dishes still hadn't come and eventually just gave up!
As there was 11 of us we was working out the bill and because she had other people waiting for the table she started to try force us out when we was simply working out the individual prices,
Without a doubt we will not be returning.. waste of money and horrendous service!
1st and last time having a home delivery worst Chinese I've had the beef chowmaine was like alot of slop couldn't eat it and the chicken balls were more dough than chicken and soggy chips so disappointed won't use again
