Quick Facts About Fresh Up Barber Shop

Fresh Up Barber Shop has a mix of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one customer had a positive experience with the "Boss Man" at the first chair, who provided an excellent haircut and a clean shop environment. The customer also mentioned that all the other barbers were accommodating and friendly, and that everyone who walked out of the shop had a sharp cut. This suggests that there are skilled and friendly barbers available at Fresh Up Barber Shop. Additionally, the location inside a mall provides convenience for customers who may want to grab a quick dinner or do some shopping before or after their haircut.
However, the comments also reveal several weaknesses of Fresh Up Barber Shop. One recurring complaint is poor customer service. Customers reported issues such as barbers using dull razors, causing irritation, and not providing after shave. There were also reports of barbers using inappropriate language in front of children, which indicates a lack of professionalism and a disregard for creating a respectful environment. Another complaint was about barbers not listening to customer requests and cutting hair differently than what was asked for. This lack of attention to detail and customer preferences can lead to dissatisfaction and disappointment.
Another weakness mentioned by customers is the pricing and payment methods. Some customers felt that the service provided was not worth the price, especially when experiencing a subpar haircut. The cash-only policy was also a source of dissatisfaction for some customers, as they had to use an on-site ATM with a $3 charge. This inconvenience and additional cost can potentially deter customers from returning to Fresh Up Barber Shop.
In addition, there were complaints about uneven haircuts, with customers noting that their hair was cut too high or left uneven in certain areas. This indicates a lack of precision and skill among some of the barbers. Multiple customers mentioned that they would not be returning to Fresh Up Barber Shop, expressing their disappointment and frustration with the service they received.
On the other hand, there was one extremely positive comment about the talent and awards of some of the barbers at Fresh Up Barber Shop. This suggests that there is potential for great haircuts and a high level of skill among some of the barbers. However, this positive comment was an outlier compared to the overall negative feedback provided.
Overall, the strengths of Fresh Up Barber Shop include having skilled barbers, a clean shop environment, and a convenient location inside a mall. On the other hand, the weaknesses include poor customer service, inappropriate language, lack of attention to customer requests, pricing and payment issues, and inconsistent haircut quality. These weaknesses can greatly impact the reputation and success of the business, as customers value professionalism, attention to detail, and a satisfactory experience.

Do not come here!!
I came in today just for a line up. Something simple and the guy that cut it seemed like it was his first time. The razor he was so dull. It was so easy to tell. The whole time he was lining up my beard he left my neck super irritated. He would literally put his whole hand and his whole weight on my head to make me look up. Once he did the back I told him I wanted it just rectangle. Like how easy is it to just go in a straight line. But the guy proceeded to cut a straight line way above my natural hair line. $20 for a line up and for a terrible job is definitely not worth it. I even had to ask him for after shave.
Kids were in the shop as well and my barber kept saying the n word, like have some class. Will not be coming back and definitely recommend everyone to stay far away from this place. There’s a barbershop at the opposite end of the mall that I’ll have to try out next time.
Boss Man at the first chair hooked it up. I was in town for work. First time getting a cut in California. I got a recommendation from an employee (shout out to Mr. Williams). I showed up early, the shop was clean, all the other barbers were immediately accommodating and friendly. Everyone who walked out of there had a smile on their face and a charp cut. Plus, since it's located inside the mall, I conveniently stopped for a quick dinner. Excellent experience. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town.
Don’t think I’ll be bring my son back here for haircuts. I’ve been coming here off and on for 5 years ( needless to say not often but whenever I’m in San Diego) the last time I was at this barber shop before today was in August of this year ( my husband and son come here) so I know haircuts are $30. Anyways when my son was done with his haircut I asked the price (the barber z_cuts his chair is the second to last chair at the entrance to the right) said it was $35 ???? ok I tip anyways and already planned on tipping $10 but since he automatically added $5 I wasn’t. I handed him a $100 and he starts looking around stupidly holding it up not saying anything to anyone he’s holding it up to. So I’m irritated so I just say give me $60 back he immediately pulls out his wallet that has plenty of cash in it to hand me $60 back. Like dude come on who did you think you were playing? Anyways, I gracefully walked out with my son because karma always comes back around. I’ll just be taking my son elsewhere whenever we come in town.
I took my infant/ toddler one afternoon about a month ago. The person who cut his hair ( a younger male on the left side a few booths in) left it uneven on the sides by his ear and neck, I had to tell him a few times to please cut it here and there.
Not it's growing out more uneven in the front.
He did offer me if I needed a cape since my toddler sat with me. He also asked me if there was anything else I wanted him to fix...
He did offer me to help me with him while I reached in my wallet and said "have a nice day"
I was shocked that he left him the way he did.
It was strange service overall.
Worst place ever don't come here! I need to contact their main office they made us wait for 3 hours and we ended up walking away we came to check in at 3 pm6pm comes they still kept us waiting and told us we are next on the list! Few people came in and they took them instead. They had enough man power which was 4 employees one of them just kept texting while the other took a customer without appointment bcuz their buddies! one was talking longer than an hour to cut hair. Meanwhile I've noticed they keep insisting that they are taking cash only kinda fishy this is the only barbershop in the whole US that takes cash only
Why waste your money for terrible service.
Pricing would be great if the service was even good. Each barber in here seems like they are just barely learning how to cut hair. It doesn’t seem like anyone here has any service. The business is open though because people are too afraid to tell their barber “ no that’s not what i asked for.”
You tell these barbers what haircut you’d like and then they turn around and cut it how they want it. It’s incredible how ignorant they can be and it seems that anyone who holds a pair of clippers can just want in and start cutting hair.
Go to an actual licensed course to learn this trade instead of claiming you taught yourself and then messing up someone’s hair. Nothing is a big deal until it’s done to you, because I know these barbers would be hurt if they got the service they provide.
Go to the barbershop in national city on the mile of cars for THE BEST service with excellent pricing.
Got my hair butchered for $30. I showed pictures of me with my regular haircut and ended up with a different one. The back of my head was cut way too high almost to the top of my head. This is the second time I’ve gotten my haircut from this place and both time they failed to deliver and ruined my hair real bad. When it came to pay i gave my card to the barber but was told only cash and pointed to a sign “cash only” near the ceiling by the door. He told me to used the ATM in the back of the shop with a $3 charge. So yeah $33 (or more if my bank charges me other fees) for a messed up haircut. Thanks again and there would be no third time.
im the type of male that gets a haircut twice a week, I tend to shop at this mall frequently , I stumbled across this barber shop about 9 months ago ( I wish I would've seen it sooner) I gave it a try and I was amazed at the amount of talent that is there !!! You can find about 4-7 barbers ready to cut any type of hair you might have , with many of them having awards for competing in best fades here in San Diego. They have personal
Booking with a direct barber or if you wait in line they have a service system where your about waiting 5-20 min at the most for your turn I personally have kilo and Cinthia fade me up they are my go to barbers , always great vibes and great service you can't beat it while you shop for an outfit you get a cut , thanks a lot!!
